I came here with a friend for drinks on a Friday night. It took a long time for us to order and a long time for us to get our drinks after we ordered. Anytime a bar leaves such an impression that you take a card- like several years ago?!?!? You got to know it is good. I used to frequent NYC every summer for awhile and this was one of my old haunts. Fresh back on home soil from a Europe trip, I was in an absolute dogfight with jetlag. However, my big homie was in town so I had to dig deep to meet him. My first impression of Ten Degrees was looking at the menu and seeing $15 for a glass of wine when I was used to paying 3-4 euro for the past 2 weeks. Murder my smile, but please, leave me my pain. The big homie, who we shall refer to as H, threw down his Amex Platty and told me not to worry about it. That's why he is big homie! H is the friend in the group who gets all the ladies and all the money. I am very comfortable in my own skin at this point in my life, but H would have even a prime Brad Pitt feeling a little insecure. We sat outside on St. Marks, and what a beautiful ambiance it was. All the ladies were walking by damn near breaking their necks while looking at H in his Kith wife beater paired with a white silk Dior short sleeve button down, matched with black Prada jeans and black Balenciaga boots, topped off with a diamond encrusted presidential Rolex on the left wrist. He is an icon. He even bought Oreos for a table of two beautiful women sitting in our general vicinity, went up to them and had them laughing so hard one accidentally hit their glass off the table and shattered it when H dropped on of his patented punchlines. I really wanted to love this place because of the location and the happy hour but the bartender Tyler was so rude that I won't be revisiting. I went in with a friend and we ordered straightforward mixed drinks. He was difficult to talk to and seemed to be in a rush and as if we were ordering something inconvenient and difficult.. which we weren't. The entire time he talked to his friend at the other side of the bar and we couldn't get his attention to get our next drinks. My friend tried to get his attention by giving a small wave over. Now.. if you have been here you know the bar area is a square, even if you are at the other side you are not too far away from anyone on the opposite side. I guess he thought we couldn't hear, but we were still close enough to hear that he said to his friend that he would be back after seeing what the "ugly b**ches" want. Excuse me? Extremely not cool. Beware you might get drugged here. Went to this bar thurs July 31st from like 9-1030. I'm from out of town with my gf. Two cocktails a piece. We sat on the smaller couch. Not sitting near anyone and kept eyes on drinks at all times, very quiet night very little foot traffic. My gf went to get a last shot from the bar before leaving. Poured by dirty blonde haired 25 year old bartender chick. Gf said the bartender poured the drink behind the bar. Also said a patron wanted the shot but the bartender said these shots are for the girls... we left and within 10 minutes my gf who has high alcohol tolerance was sweating and couldn't walk at all. We got to hotel and she became violently ill. No doubt drugged with GHB. There was the female bartender, a 25 year old guy bartender with curly hair who was friendly and 3 random dudes at right of bar who were regulars I think and ordered food delivery. My gf thinks it was female bartender...Be careful at this spot. I wish I recognized earlier she was drugged and called PD earlier. read more

Day and time : Thursday 6pm I successfully convinced my colleagues to trek all the way to the easy village for a night out starting with happy hour here at the very same bar I used to frequent years ago . Nothing has changed and it's nice see that they've surprised and managed to stay open post covid . They have the best hour and the place still plays some old school songs . What an enjoyable place be it at the bar, or the tables by the front and even outside. The back room is also nice but more suitable during winter and when the weather isn't as nice . 3.5 stars. The happy hour here is great! BOGO happy hour drinks (per person only) with different cocktails, wine, and beer to choose from. The drinks were also strong but tasty. Food-wise, the options felt pretty limited. My friends and I wanted to order some shareable snacks, but there wasn't much on the menu that was good for groups (not even fries or something). The chips & guac was probably the closest thing, but the restaurant was all out of anything avocado that day. Our waitress then suggested the cheese board to us, but ironically half the cheese board offerings were also unavailable. We still managed to make a cheese board order and enjoyed it. The brigante cheese was definitely the crowd favorite. Overall this is a good spot for happy hour, but I'd probably skip the food next time. This place is a little shadier than it seems but actually nice when you truly look around. Ample seating. Definitely dark inside, played good music. Bartenders were friendly and attentive/efficient. Happy hour is a great deal at buy one get one (you can mix and match, but the deal is per person so you do get the two drinks for just yourself). Nice thing was that we ordered first drink shortly before happy hour ended at 7, but he let us get our second drink whenever we were ready much later. They have a few good options, mostly charcuterie and sandwiches. We just wanted something small so did the hummus and pita. It was very tasty hummus and abundant warm pita. They have several cocktail options, a few beers, and then house wines on the menu, but maybe there was a separate wine menu, or just ask the bartender about all the wines they have in what seems to actually be a wine bar. Overall this place was fine and would return, though it doesn't offer anything special. Probably would be a great spot for a local to frequent! read more

CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS! The staff here like to tip themselves a little extra. But most importantly when you google the number to the business (516-400-4147) and place the call, an incredibly rude man (presumably the owner), will speak to you immediately in a condescending tone and before you can even tell him what you're calling about, will speak over you and ask you when you went to the bar and question you multiple times about how many people were in your party. He'll even go as far as telling YOU what YOU "might've" ordered. I mean, in the 3 minutes I spoke with the guy, so many ridiculous things were said by him that I can't even write it into words. Regardless, check those receipts. I check all my receipts 2-3x a month and came across my 10 Degrees Bar receipt of $78.12. When I scrolled through my bank card statement, I saw that the finalized transaction was $93.12, which means that someone added 15 extra dollars to the merchant receipt. Just so you all know, I always tip between 18-22%, or more if the service was absolutely spectacular (which it certainly was not). Most times, if I don't write the tip on the card, I'll write "cash" on the tip line of the receipt and leave cash tip on the table. That being said, all I called the man for was to ask him to review the receipt and get back to me with some clarification. Perhaps it was a mistype on their end, no problem. But he was so insanely rude to me on the phone that I couldn't even get the issue across to him. I didn't want to be sitting here writing a review on yelp, which I'm also going to copy and paste on other review pages. This could all have been avoided if whoever picked up that phone wasn't an absolute d-bag to me for no reason. To the guy: take a chill pill, man. The number attached to your bar is that 516 number that you picked up. If you're that annoyed with talking to people about your business to the point that you feel the need to immediately put the conversation into flames, give that phone to someone else. Seriously, relax. Also, I can understand questioning someone about a transaction from many weeks/months ago...but 10 days? I called you 10 days after visiting the bar. I didn't get to the receipt until today. Was that so wrong? Since we've gotten to this point, you should know that your waiters and waitress' service was subpar, and your cocktails could use some work. read more

Came here as a party of 6 (with a reservation) around 5:45pm on Valentine's Day. We were seated towards the back. They had Happy Hour going on (2 for 1 wines) and a great selection of drinks! We split a cheese platter and then ordered chips and guac (which also came with salsa and sour cream). In all honesty, there's nothing remarkable about 10 Below. Situated deep in the east village (any deeper and it would be taking on water from the East River), the only reason we found ourselves here on a Saturday night was for a friend's birthday. Walking in, the bar was jam packed at 8:30 with people squeezed in 3 deep at the bar. Blasting music at ear splitting decibels, we managed to work our way through to the back. Drinks were decent, though for the prices less than worth it. More appallingly, the bar neglects to highlight that paying with a card incurs a 3.5% surcharge, on top of a automatic 25% tip on top of it, taking the highly priced cocktail to an eye watering $22. On top of all this, the server for our room managed to lose my credit card in the trash when trying to settle up my tab - thankfully she managed to dig through to find it! Rather hilariously, our private party room kept having strangers wander in looking for the bathroom, and in one instance two drunk partygoers looking for a private place to get a little action. read more

There was a long wait so we decided to drop by for some drinks. This place is still awesome! They have great music and a 2-for-1 drink special as part of their happy hour. 2 for 1 drinks at happy hour from 4pm - 8pm? Say what??? Of all the bar hopping I did, Ten Degrees Bar had been the most friendly to my already empty wallet. Don't think that during happy hour you're stuck with well drinks or beer, no sireee! You can order that $15 glass of Cab you've had your eye on, a $10 German Pilsner or one of their delicious cocktails. (most are made with top shelf alcohol too: Maker's Mark, St. Germain liqueur, etc) I wanted to get the party started since I haven't seen my friend Jenny W in 2 years. I was excited for my Caipirinha, made with cachaca, fresh lime and sugar on the rocks. It ended up being too sugary for my taste, so I made sure to down it right away and order another drink. The Tom Collins was much better: gin, lemon, sugar and club soda. It came with a cute Maraschino cherry too! I found myself ordering light, refreshing drinks because it was so warm out. Plus the happy, bumpy, 90's music just matched my overall mood too. The blonde bartender was pretty fast in making our cocktails, but have the Borat look alike bartender make your Tanqueray and Tonic and it's guaranteed to be STIFF! (um, pun intended?) he was hella flexing his biceps to please the two gay guys who were totally drooling over him. Yeah, I know he took his time in acknowledging our presence but what the heck! I have to say, I'm seeing a lot of complaints on monetary issues with this place. And I will admit so far, the 2 times that I have been here there was a pretty huge issue with the bill. The first time I was with a larger group of girlfriends and we split 2 2 for 1 pitchers of sangria. Which should come out to $60 plus tax and tip. Our bill was way over $90. I ended up paying twice the amount I should have. The second time I came here last night I ended up getting 1 2 for 1 pitcher of sangria split amongst three people. Our bill came out to $50 not including tax and tip. And not only that problem occurred but when we were figuring out our bill and collecting change the bartender yelled at us for not tipping him completely when we hadn't even finished paying. Such a lack of respect and such complete horse shit. Not coming back to this place ever again. *Additional Note: The Manager graciously noticed the mix up with the billing of our evening last week here. There was only one additional drink added on perhaps in a mix up with people we were with. But it isn't the end of the world. The only true complaints of the night I would say were with the service of the bartender. I will however stand by firmly with being over-charged my first time being here. read more
