I really enjoyed Stride, I hate running so I figured this would push me. It's pretty cool, they give you a monitor and you can see where you are on the big screen. Very motivating. You go through different variations of the run or jog, before switching into HIIT a few times. I did the workout called the Quickie. This isn't something I would do regularly myself, but I would absolutely sprinkle it in to my workouts every once in a while.

Great way to track your progress!

I never thought I'd genuinely enjoy a work out until experiencing a class at STRIDE. I couldn't believe my eyes walking into the facility. Not only were the treadmills extremely modern and high-tech, but the room itself created a fun atmosphere which instantly boosted my motivation! I tried the 5pm core class with Victoria and was a little nervous that I would be too out of shape to keep up. That is exactly why my favorite part of the entire work out was how each person had the ability to choose the level of intensity best for them. I love that there was no pressure and the instructor gave everyone different options for running, jogging, and walking. The GM, Paul, is super helpful and friendly! You even get a copy of your work out results sent to your email after class tracked by the heart monitor provided by STRIDE. It was really cool to see how many calories I burned and my heart rate during the different stages of class. Definitely good to track your progress! SIDE-NOTE: I was skeptical that I'd find parking considering the location, but I decided to take a drive around the block and found multiple spots open just one street over. If you aren't able to find a meter, Stride is located right next to a parking lot. Rite-Aid is also across the way from Stride, which was super useful because I was able to grab a little snack before class!

STRIDE, you have my heart!! You're super slick, clean and inviting, and I can't wait for you to grow into other areas because I live so far away!! This Stride location is in San Diego's Little Italy, on W. Ash St. right by the train tracks. You can literally see the trains going by on occasion. Parking can be tight, but when I went in for my first visit, I found a meter right around the corner on India St. and paid $2.50 for 2 hours. Not bad at all. There are some meters which accept credit cards (which I had) and some that require being coin fed. Once you're inside, it's super bright and clean. Merchandise area is to the right, with restrooms, lockers and the front desk to the left. The treadmills are located behind the double doors and they also have a small room with weights, which they incorporate into some of the workouts. I'll be back real soon to try this out! I came in for the Yelp Elite Perk on a Monday. I wondered what the place was all about, so Google to the rescue when there was only 1 review on Yelp. It's a really fresh and neat concept: you do basic warm ups before you get on the fancy Woodway treadmills, then the instructor leads/guides you into a workout of intermittent walking/jogging/running. Each segment lasts a couple seconds, and you get a little "rest break" in between the fast levels. There's a Runner's Level Guide that shows you the 4 levels used during classes: Level 1 - Recovery Pace 3-5mph (easy) Level 2 - Endurance Pace 4.5-7mph (moderate) Level 3 - Race Pace 6-9mph (intense) Level 4 - Sprint Pace 7-10+mph (maximum) I'm no runner, but started getting into it to build my endurance and stamina, and I was able to get up to level 3. Rest assured you won't be pressured into running at a level you're not comfortable with. Paul, the General Manager happened to be running the class when I arrived and I was able to jump in for the last half hour. He made me feel so welcome and at ease, and I loved his personality!! So cool and very chill! His energy is AMAZING! He definitely gets you pumped to get your groove on while the music blasts in the background. By the time the hour was over (half hour for me), I was sweating #SparkleJuice and it felt great!! Each class is instructor led, so you're never NOT in the know. They encourage and push you to your limits and you will feel so good when you're done!! If you're looking for a place where you can have fun while working out in downtown San Diego, check this place out! I highly recommend it for beginners and expert runners alike. If you're hesitant, I highly suggest you give Paul a call and set up a trial workout. Anyone there can help you out, the instructors are all nice, and some were even taking the class with me, shout out to Dani!! If I lived closer, I'd be sold!! Follow them on IG to keep up with all of their schedules and fun events: @stride_littleitaly Get on it, and thank me later! =) ETA: After class, Paul got us sanitizing wipes so each of us could wipe down our treadmills. There is hand sanitizer available for your use. This place is covid prepped!!

STRIDE Fitness has provided an awesome community to workout and keep a consistent training program. The HHIT training program is designed for all levels of fitness, from beginners to competitive marathon runners. However, when you are in the Studio, jamming to the music, following the precise coaching by the staff, you feel a sense of purpose by all members. The Coaches at STRIDE create an environment that makes every workout meaningful, intentional, and it's contagious! The owners are awesome, and very personable, and manage the Studio in a reasonable and friendly manner, not corporate-like, regardless of some of the questionable reviews left here. Join the Team and come pursue your fitness goals.

I love the workouts here! And they have fun events and classes pretty much every hour so it's convenient and easy to fit in a workout every day. The instructors are great, very motivating, play great music and get you through cardio intervals that I normally wouldn't do on my own. It's great having the HeartRate monitor there to keep you in the zone where you're getting the most out of each exercise to really get results.

This is such an special place. Making you always feel at home. Amazing experience and exercise. Highly recomended

Hate running?? I did too. But I have been coming here less than a week and I love it! Everyone is friendly and accommodating and carry high energy which is needed when being tortured with running! The lights and the music are great throughout class. The facility is clean and they are great with maintaining distance between each person! I love the heart rate monitor that keeps you on track during class and that it connects to the app easily so you can track your progress. In addition, you can book and cancel classes straight from the app! Super easy. The outdoor class on Saturday is a bonus when you live in sunny San Diego!

I'm new to the Stride community, but it is definitely something worth both your time and money. It is not a cheap membership, but you really are paying for both high-end equipment (Woodway treadmills) and coaches. These same coaches not only learn your name, but they monitor where you stand as an athlete and push you to surpass your boundaries. This gym offers heart rate monitors that track your progress throughout the class and at the end it displays how much you burned as well as a progress pyramid showing you how and if you pushed yourself throughout the class. It's quite sad that the location must close to abide by state regulations, but once open I'm definitely going to be back in their. As they were operating the owners and coaches were doing their part to not only keep each runner apart from one another, but they were constantly disinfecting after each class. Mask were worn at all times will near people. For those who have never tried this type of a workout it's definitely worth a shot. Typically classes are full in the AM and late PM. The beauty of this place is that it offers a wide selection of workout times as well as great music. So there's never a need for you to bring your headphones to the gym.

I've been excited to try Stride for some time now, but have since changed my mind. I reserved my first class on a Thursday and chose their Saturday class at 10 am. Saturday at 930am my boyfriend received a call by Tish to confirm he was still going to attend the class starting in 30 minutes. After he said yes, she proceeded to tell him that they no longer are offering the first class free and that he'd be charged a $25 drop in fee. When I asked when the first free class ended she explained it happened somewhere in the last week (although I booked it 2 days prior, and the man I spoke to confirmed the first class would be free). She refused to honor the free class despite it being a miscommunication on their part. I also asked about parking (street mostly) and they failed to inform me that the street the studio is located on was closed. Therefore, my friend and I drove around for 30 min and were unsuccessful in finding a parking spot, & never attended the class :( I can't truly review the studio/class itself, but am very dissatisfied with how things were handled and their customer service. Update, just received this email and the subject line is FIRST CLASS FREE!

Here are payments that they charged me AFTER they said they would cancel my membership

But with the warm welcome from Coach Matty, I felt empowered to give it a try. The website does not do a great job of explaining the format, so here's what I experienced. The workout is split into three parts. Two strength based areas and one cardio tread. In the strength area, we engaged in things like deadlifts, curls, pull ups, etc. On the tread, we did a variety of intervaled runs with the section half being an option to either Tabata run or use the kettle bell to go between strength and floor core exercises. The coach cues each section and prompts you when to do what. Time flew by as you're constantly moving quickly from one exercise to another. I had a lot of fun and it was a really solid exercise. I left feeling stronger and sweatier! They offer first 3 classes free so you can give it a try!

This gym offers a wide variety of bootcamp like classes with fantastic energy and some truly talented coaches. While there are a few who are overly egotistical and could use a come back to earth reality check and a touch more humility, the majority of the coaching staff is excellent. Two standouts are Gabrielle Y. and Christian Q., who make working out an absolute pleasure. Gabrielle's welcoming demeanor and contagious positivity create a great atmosphere, and Christian's coaching style is equally motivating and supportive. The classes themselves are high-energy, challenging, and adaptable to different fitness levels. What I love most is that each coach brings their unique style and energy to the table. Once you find the coach who resonate with you, it's easy to stick with them and stay consistent. The variety keeps things interesting, and you'll never get bored while working toward your fitness goals. One of the challenges, however, is parking. Since Lazy Acres put up signs claiming what feels like half the lot, finding a spot can be a headache. I've learned not to arrive too early because spots typically free up only once the previous class ends. While it can be frustrating to circle the lot, a little patience and timing go a long way. It's something to keep in mind when planning your visits. The gym itself could benefit from more regular cleaning and maintenance. A deep cleaning is definitely overdue, as dust, hair, and even cobwebs can be seen in corners. Some benches are rusty and could use replacing. While these issues don't take away from the quality of the workouts, they do detract from the overall experience. Many other gyms in the area have weekly professional cleaning services, which could be a great addition here to help maintain a fresher, more polished environment. Despite these minor drawbacks, Renegade remains a fantastic place to work out. The membership is reasonably priced, although ClassPass is still more affordable and offers lower price penalties for late cancellations. Overall, the quality of the classes and the dedication of standout coaches like Gabrielle and Christian make this gym worth checking out. If you're looking for a challenging yet welcoming environment to achieve your fitness goals, Renegade is a solid choice--just plan ahead for parking and connect with the coaches whose energy aligns with yours!

This is a no-frills, old boxing gym vibe (think OG Rocky) where you come to WORK! Bryan's programming, exercise acumen, and super sets will challenge you, but also be some of the most effective and productive workouts. He has almost every piece of equipment I've seen in a gym from rowers, ropes, barbells, curl bars, pulley systems, sleds, water weights, benches, kettlebells, free weights, Terra core, TRX, bands, discs, and the list goes on. I have attended about 10 classes and I have yet to repeat a workout. It's insane the quality of training and programming you would get through this gym for the price. Anywhere else, it would cost thousands for this level of programming, so anyone who attends these classes is getting a steal of a deal for this type of workout! Classes are 45min, with several stations per class. Each day has a target focus such as pull, push, leg, abs, and/or cardio, depending on the day. The target is there, but you are always getting a decent total body workout. Each station has 2-3 exercises that you do 2 sets per station. You have around 3 people per station, and then you rotate. Bryan goes around to demo each exercise as you move stations, and also has the workouts written on a whiteboard at the front of the room. Bryan will also provide quick corrections, as needed. Please note, in large group class settings, rarely will get you get alot of correction or instruction. It's not feasible to have that much personalized focus in these types of classes. Each class starts with a short warm-up, and a quick cooldown at the end. I have only taken class with Bryan, as he is the staple of this gym. He also has an extensive background with over 20yr of experience and he also offers some nutrition and personalized coaching programs for fat shredding and other fitness goals. This gym is a hidden gem and morning classes are usually full. I am literally perplexed how the afternoon classes are not exploding with members because I have yet to see anyone have the stellar exercise programming and versatility that Versatile Fitness provides. I've seen so many different trainers and attended many gyms, and Bryan's programming is the most innovative and BRUTAL (in the best way), that I've experienced.
