This little spot may be the best Italian restaurant we've ever been to. After almost a week of heavy czech food, I felt the need for a salad. This place is about a block away from our apartment, and it had salad on the menu. Mine was really good, with shaved parmesan, prosciutto, tomatoes, and a mix of lettuce and arugula. My wife opted for a tagliatelle with sun dried tomatoes and bacon that was amazingly good. The pasta was handmade and fresh. While I felt like I needed a salad, after trying my wife's, I totally wish I had gotten one of their pastas too. For dessert, we shared a brownie with chili's in it. Cute spot I bookmarked of places off the beaten path close to the Charles bridge. We arrived around on a Monday 7:30 and the place was completely empty, so we had our pic of tables we opted for a coveted window seat so we could people watch but still be indoors. Service was great .We started with 2 glasses of a Rose Made in CZ and small cheese plate. We each ordered a different pasta and a glass of CZ Pinot Noir. The pastas were fresh and filing I ended up taking home more than half since I was full from the cheese board. We ordered second glass of Pinot and stayed for a bit . I deducted a star because wine bars usually allow you to order an entire bottle . Maybe it's a CZ thing but I wasn't a fan of an only glass option. read more

If you're vegetarian, this place is an excellent choice. A small veggie-friendly dining and drinking spot near the Opera, this little place had just what I needed: a huge portobello mushroom burger and a glass of wine at a small table in a large window to watch all the jealous passersby stare hungrily at your plate as they walk by. Great little wine bar near downtown. Very nice and friendly service and really tasty wines. The menu was a little space and even with not too many choices to begin with the pizza was already sold out. The gnocci were pretty good. I did really love their smoked meats and cheeses platter. A really nice cosy wine bistro in the old city. I absolutely love the friendly atmosphere and the view of the street while sitting by the window, watching people pass along. They have great wine selection and especially their Prosecco is stunning! While only coming for one glass after work, we needed up having six of them and not talking about their amazing cheese, ham, olives....one plate simply isn't enough. They had a full house but the owner kindly gave me a seat at the bar which was more than fine because I had all the smells and watched them prepare the dishes. I had the wonderful pea soup which was perfect for this cool, wants to rain kind of night. Followed with tagliatelle with prosciutto and pesto. A delicious red wine (I think he recommended a montelpuciano?) and I was content. Excellent for lunch or dinner. They do take reservations (good idea, they're small) as well solo hungry travelers. Wandered into this place when I saw they had homemade blueberry and raspberry cheesecake. Funny enough, the interior, friendly staff and variety of wine, meat and cheese made me forget all about the cheesecake! This small wine bar and cafe is located right near karlovy lazne, so if you are out and about near the charles bridge/staromestska area, then you can easily walk down this side road and find it. The inside is quite small, there is only about 5 tables, so if you come at a busy time you may have to wait for a table. Luckily I came smack in the middle of the day, it was empty so I got my pick of where to sit plus I got great service. There are very nice photos of France/Paris in frames on the walls, and the design and wine display is nice as well. They have a lot of wines to choose from, but I thought the best was the Czech Reisling I had the dried pepper salam and the spicy cheese with a fresh bagette. Delicious. Came with fresh olive oil and was more then enough for one person to be full off of. Usually I am not a huge fan of these types of eateries, but I really enjoyed this one. We found this little gem of a wine bar thanks to Yelp. Hubby and I were looking for a non-Moravian wine fix (since I've yet to try one I like) in the Old Town and found Tempo Allegro. I enjoyed an Italian Cabernet Sauvignon and hubby had a glass of Rioja. It was a Sunday night and we had the place to ourselves - though it only has five tables anyway and is tiny. I noticed a garden terrace in the back as well. We stopped by the following afternoon for more wine and some nibbles. Secreted away on twisty Karolíny Svetle is this little gem of a wine bar. Perfect location close to, but not in the center of the tourist area - it's a lovely escape from the bustle of Old Town. I had a Morovian Rosé and the owner's selection of olives, cheeses, and arugula salad. (The spicy pecorino was amazing!) The wine bar is non-smoking, with wifi, and a second seating area. It was the perfect place to spend an hour talking and watching the rain fall on the cobblestones outside. They also serve coffee and have regular menu items. read more

We noticed Tempo Allegro when we went to Hemingway Bar the night before, so we decided to give it a try. We were a bit worried, as we were the only ones in there at 8 PM on a Saturday night, but we ended up being pleasantly surprised. We didn't try any of the appetizers and ended up ordering the gnocchi and the fresh tagliatelle as our entrées; both were simple, yet very flavorful. The highlight, however, was the wine selection; they offered a variety of wines from Italy, Spain, and Argentina to name a few, and also had a nice of selection of wines by the glass. Came here in hopes of Italian food, but found out the only "food" item really is the quiche. It's a cozy and cute place to unwind... and they give you a LOT of cheese. We ordered three cheeses, proscuitto, and a quiche. The quiche was spot on perfect. It was cheesy and the crust was buttery and flaky. The cheeses were hit and miss with me.
