Located in the Temple Bar area, the aptly named Temple Bar Trading Company is a sprawling and jam packed souvenir shop that features all the classic souvenirs you'd be after from shirts, hats, magnets, cups, scarves, bags, etc...plus a good variety of perishable souvenirs like chocolates, coffee and other snacks. Speaking of snacks, they also share a space with a local gelato/ice cream shop! Service was friendly and helpful whether on the sales floor or at the register. The store was packed with stuff, so a little hard to maneuver, especially when busy, which I feel is majority of the time. Quality of the goods seemed to be mixed, as did pricing. Definitely THE temple bar souvenir shop-- huge selection of items varying in price. That also means it's very crowded, and people tend not to be very aware of their surroundings. You get what you pay for -- pretty cheap and not the highest quality stuff, but able to get a lot of things. I've gotten jewelry from here before that has broken, but I love the postcards (and price of the postcards) etc. read more

Where you have the Temple Bar Area, you have a huge souvenir shop. It's basically 2 full rooms of branded "stuff", much of it a general repeat of what every other souvenir shop in Dublin offers. It just has a lot more that's fully stocked, arguably overpriced, and with too many people inside looking for that right memento. When in Dublin, Ireland for the first time, one should purchase some souvenirs & gifts for family who could not make the the trip. That's why we dropped by Temple Bar Trading Company. The shop is pretty large. Store was packed with people and merchandise. Be careful when you walk around so as not to break any of the fragile products. You break it, you buy it!! We did purchase some items. Specifically, we purchased a magnet (probably made in China). We also purchase assorted cookies and candy which were made in Ireland!! Found what we needed and did not purchase stuff that we did not need. Win, win for us! Prices probably were not on the low end, but I thought that it was still fine. We stopped here after touring countless other souvenir shops and this was the best, by far. As usual, it is packed full of overpriced goodies, but this shop has a great selection of everything you can imagine and was a double storefront, thus housed a bit more. The larger selection made it so there were items beyond the typical tacky items. Don't fret, they have those, too (our kids loved the tacky knick knacks we brought them). We ended up purchasing quite a bit here, such as a sweatshirt, a wool driving hat, a kid's sheep dress, magnet, Christmas ornaments, keychains, postcards, chocolates, clover wishing jars, and a few stuffed animals. We have enjoyed everything except for the chocolates (we ended up tossing them). The sweatshirt and hat are surprisingly great quality and worth the cost. read more

4/12/23- found a few Irish trinkets in here for a reasonable price. They have lots of sweaters and Celtic names in here with Christmas ornaments. Customer service was good. Except the security guard watching everyone like they was a burglary or robbery occurring. All good though. Close to lots of food and other shops there. Have fun exploring. read more

Walking down the Temple Bar area, spotted this massive shop and purchased postcards at 3 for a euro - small size and 2 for a euro big size. So comparing this store to Carroll's Irish gifts, it absolutely does not come out ahead in terms of cost and service. So apart from postcards, key chains etc, I found the Guinness/ Irish whiskey chocolate at this store was more expensive than at Carrolls. Service here was also not as friendly as the Carroll's shop I went to. Def recommend shopping around a bit more for anyone looking to buy souvenirs. Because I live in Dublin, I would never normally go into this tourist shop. It sells everything with Guinness and a shamrock on it, basically souvenirs that are stereotypically Irish. I was prepared to hate it but then I discovered some good buys. You can purchase a kid's hoodie for a fiver and some decent sunglasses for a tenner. Yes, you can also find Leprechaun fridge magnets and bottle openers. There's a ridiculous amount of clothes with sheep cartoons on them too. But then there's chocolate and fudge that looked quite scrumptious. If you're a tourist and you need this stuff then I forgive you. I understand the urge to buy a tea towel with the recipe for soda bread on it. I too once believed that this was what Ireland was all about. read more

Right after he came back to tell me the price, he walked away, quickly top-down stared at me and immediately whispered his collegue something like " he should be female" well I have an androgynous style and I don't need you to disrespect me in that way very bad customer service I do not recommend this souvenir shop at all ! read more

One type of sweatshirt which takes up 20% of the store (in 5 different colors). Would have been cool to have 6 different styles in a couple different colors. Just boring. Few hats. Cashing in on the monstrous success of the famous Temple Bar pub, the proprietors expanded the premises to include a massive souvenir shop. The Temple Bar Trading Company is essentially a department store for all things Oirish. There are rugby and GAA jerseys galore, Aran jumpers and tweedy hats, shamrock encrusted stationary and plenty of Guinness merchandise too. Personally I've never found a need to shop here, but I reckon if you were a tourist, middle-aged and of American origin especially (no offense intended), this shop would be a real treasure trove. We were winding down our three week visit to the British Isles, and it was time to fill in the loose boxes in terms of what to bring home. For example, I had purchased a Guinness water bottle from the Storehouse itself, but stupidly forgot it at a Galway pub. And we needed to get a few other things to say "Yeah baby, we've been to Ireland!" I'd been to Carroll's a couple of times, and wasn't overly impressed. Too many people with minor managerial roles taking their job just a bit too seriously. Overpriced items, and a lengthy return process made me want to find some other general tourist trap vendor. And I have to say that Temple Bar Trading Company fulfilled that role just fine. In addition to being able to replace my Guinness bottle, I also purchased a couch cushion by the name of Spuddy, to forever comfort me on those nights I'm a bit lonely. In spite of the fact that the store had plenty of customers, it had a friendly enough vibe, with enough staff to ask questions, none of which though it was God's plan to have them working at this store. Wife also got a few sewing knickknacks, and was generally satisfied. As a stop to wind up your trip, this did the job. read more

The store is pretty small and has a small variety of items to choose from. They had a deal 3 for $25 T-shirts which I thought was great. I bought 4 T-shirts and a sweatshirt for less than $50 which is a deal for me. As I usually spend more than that. When I realized I bought the wrong size sweat, they let me return it for a smaller size the next day with no problem. They even grabbed the right sized one I needed. I gave 4 stars only because it's such a small store. Other than that the service is great. read more

Temple Bar Trading Company is along the same lines as Carroll's of Dublin, the really tacky souvenir shops all over the city. However, I do find the Temple Bar Trading Company a lot better in terms of price, quality and different designs compared to Carroll's. On the downside, the shop is smaller, therefore choice is more limited and the stock is still tacky! read more

For general souvenirs, yes Carroll's has a larger selection. BUT, I must say, I found my favorite souvenir here so have to give it 4 stars. I got a lovely Guinness jacket/hoodie that we did not see at the Storehouse or at Carroll's. So, in my opinion, it's worth a quick look to see if there's something different here that you haven't seen before. And, if you want a souvenir from the Temple Bar Pub, then this is your place. read more
