I have received guidance and support that have helped me grow as a clinician and have been given opportunities to provide mentorship to those seeking to advance their career or their education in this field, which has also contributed to my growth as a clinician. I appreciate that Behavior Frontiers offers monthly CEU learning opportunities that are engaging and informative. I have always been highly motivated in school, and I love how this job allows me to continue learning. Additionally, there is a high standard set for Behavior Technicians. New Behavior Technicians are given a strong foundation when they go through our training program. This allows me to further their growth while still being able to provide quality services to my clients. For those Behavior Technicians that are not meeting company standards, there are clear protocols in place that state when it is needed to hold a disciplinary action meeting. This allows me to convey an action plan so that the Behavior Technician can clearly understand what is needed to improve. Overall, Behavior Frontiers has policies in place that allow me to complete my job duties while growing as a clinician, and I can definitely see myself here for many more years.

BEWARE. I have never felt so scammed and misled by a company and people who give you the impression…read morethey want to help your child. Being a parent to a child newly diagnosed with severe autism, you're already in a very vulnerable state. ACES was wonderful in the very beginning, showing urgency and the indication they wanted to help. They got us an evaluation quickly and they wanted to start services as soon as possible. One of the first correspondence we got was something along the lines of, great news! Your insurance approved the referral so you're covered. We quickly learned that their staff who was available right away to work with our daughter, was actually a brand new employee. Our first session, we showed up to their Long Beach location and had to park in some sketchy used car lot next-door. I had to walk with my autistic child as well as my baby along the busy street to get to the facility which already made me uncomfortable as it's not the best area. When we got there, the therapist was there who looked like she had just rolled out of bed. The supervisor was there and was meeting this employee for the first time and was explaining how to do certain things, which made me so uneasy. I was also horrified she showed up to her first day to this company looking completely unprofessional. I felt so uncomfortable and I refused to leave my three-year-old alone with her and ended up taking her home. I expressed my concerns and I was assured by our supervisor, Irma, that my concerns were heard and they would find me someone else. They did find another therapist to do in-home therapy with us and she was very kind, although again, very new and inexperienced as well. There were many times the supervisor asked if she could attend the sessions at our home and of course I agreed not thinking anything of it. Often times it felt like she was training the employee right in front of me which I couldn't stand. There's nothing worse than feeling like someone who is supposed to be a professional is not familiar with the case, right in front of you. We were putting our child's health and medical diagnosis in the hands of someone who had little to no experience and that alone was very concerning. There were many times the supervisor, Irma would be in our home and she would casually ask, "would you mind doing some parent training? It's just a few questions". Of course I agreed because I would do whatever I could to help my child and if there was something she could provide me with like more education, why would I not take whatever she could give me. It was always very casual just a few questions that were typically pretty obvious like "the behavior Your child is doing, Do you think that's because of this, that, or this?" It was typically very obvious stuff that I had already known but I wanted to be polite so I entertained the "education". The supervisor maybe came to our home a total of 12 times. Well, you can imagine my surprise when after 6 or so months of services we get a hefty bill in the mail. Describing that every time we had sessions, which at one point was three days a week, we were being charged a co-pay of $30. PER SESSION. That was complete news to us of course and the fact that they waited months to give us a bill was unacceptable. We were clients of regional center and they would have covered any expenses we accrued had we known, but because so much time had passed they were unable to help us. On top of that, and this is where the really disgusting part comes in, every time that supervisor Irma casually asked me if she could provide me with some extra education or "parent training", we got CHARGED. On top of the costs per session, we also got charged $30 every single time the supervisor was here. I believe our bill is $1400 and I absolutely REFUSE pay them a penny when this all could have been avoided. Not only would we have ever agreed to this company had I known we would be paying $30 a session for a mediocre therapist who was brand new and basically still in training, but there's no way we would've ever agreed to paying for a couple of questions ("parent training") that provided little to no information and certainly not worth an additional $30 per time. The Billing representative who has called me said that I am not the first parent to tell her that this has happened as far as hidden fees and miscommunication and to me that shows that there is a serious problem with communication and transparency. They get you in the door and they are completely deceiving and they take advantage of parents who are desperate to help their child. I would never ever recommend this company and would encourage anyone looking into services make sure you ask all of your questions beforehand. Copays and how long the therapist has been employed for starters.
