This giant of a fellow, must have been 7 feet tall, expertly tied the chosen tree to the top of our vehicle after a fresh cut. Very popular place, a couple days after Thanksgiving they had already sold out of trees over 10 feet tall.

These baby goats do not kid around when it comes to drinking their milk and the bottle will be gobbled up in a flash. You can also feed chickens and they have a model cow you can pretend practice milking. Plan to spend at least two hours here. Right now they have a gorgeous lavender field filled with bees. They were Mac Daddy Sandwich and Soo-Eee! We 5 friends shared and tried them along with the tomato soup that comes with it. I am ready to try the other flavors at the next event. La Duc's offered the Ice Cream Sandwich which is two large chocolate chip cookies with a delicious custard center. It was solidly frozen and we let it sit for a few minutes to soften up a bit. We then broke it up with spoons and ate it in yummy chunks which is just how it should be eaten, IMHO. The evening was packed with families with infants, children, parents, friends, and all ages. This is what a summer evening should be. Kids have a large sand play area and lots of grassy areas to run wild. And the fresh products for sale inside the store are always top quality and worth purchasing. My only glitch is how loud the music is, which negates the ease of conversations. We bring a table and card games and yelling to each other is needed to converse. We sit away from the band but it is still a bit loud. Last night the music was varied in genre and fun.

My kiddos are 2 and 4, and we also went with some cousins who range ages 7-10. The takeaway: this place is nice for all ages. My first impression was how well-kept Kelley's is! For being a farmstead, you'd assume the space to be a bit more untidy/dirty, but they do a fantastic job. We entered into the initial barn where we found a bunch of baby farm animals! There were plenty of staff members about helping kids take turns holding animals if they chose to. Oh and there is a big hand-wash station, which is of course appreciated. As we wandered on to the next space, we found tons of outdoor yard-like games and activities - everything from hula-hoop'ing horses and duck tik-tac-toe, to outdoor bowling lanes and ride-on trikes. Safe to say our kids were stoked! Another bonus: the huge corn pit. It was so busy while we were there, but it's big enough that there was still tons of space for kids to all play at once. It was filled with toys, trucks, and buckets too. The best kind of sensory overload. We then wandered into the next/lower barn, and to our surprise: tons more animals to interact with! Cute chickitties, little pigs & mama pigs, goats, chickens, the list goes on. It was kind of a shock how well-mannered all the animals, meaning at no point did it feel unsafe to interact with them. Overall a wonderful day out a Kelley's Farmstead. I definitely recommend checking it out and supporting the nice family that owns and runs the place!

Truth be told this was my first time visiting any type of farm...I'm from Queens NYC so this was something I only saw on TV growing up. And let me say it was one of the best experiences of my life. It gave me a chance to see first hand how farm life really is and how dedicated you have to be for this lifestyle. So...we rolled up and was instantly greeted by Tina. She showed us the map of the USA and had us mark it with our family name and where we are from; very cool. Then once all the other families showed up she gave us a short brief of the farm's history. After that we loaded up for the hay ride to the pumpkin patch so the kids could grab a small sugar pumpkin. All the while Tina is explaining farming, GMO, and how marketing is done for the dairy business...BTW don't believe everything you read on those milk labels: I left there smarter. FYI So on to the Cows...Tina took us via the hay ride to the cow house (that's not the correct term: I'm from NYC remember). We saw all the cows waiting to get prego which are the Heifers (that term is correct) and all the mom's that get milked. We even got to milk one ourselves...I'm pretty sure that makes me a Farmer now...LOL Then we saw the baby cows; super cute and friendly. My daughter also got to feed a baby goat which is called a Kid (also a term I have correct). She also picked chicken eggs, saw some sheep, and pigs. Once again during the tour Tina does a great job keeping the children's attention while explaining a lot to us adults. Overall it was a great experience for our daughter and me as a city-slicker it was freaking amazing! It really makes you appreciate the hard work that goes into the things most of us take for granted.

They have pre-picked apples, caramel apples, various baked apple desserts and fresh pressed cider, as well as cider slushies. There is also a variety of home decor and gift items for sale. There was a cart outside with small pumpkins and gourds for sale as well. There is a short walk on a gravel path to get to the orchard. We strolled through the rows of trees and different varieties and picked almost a peck (you purchase bags by the orchard). Since the pick your own sold out quickly, we were able to supplement our bag with pre-picked apples from a bin. Out by the orchard you can dine at the Cidery - we didn't stop there this time but the menu looks great. There was outdoor seating available there. They have lots of parking (it was nearly full on this day), and lots of space to spread out, have a snack, take photos, and enjoy a beautiful Wisconsin day. Be wary of bees if you have allergies as they were plentiful, enjoying all of the juicy apples on the ground.
