I have just walked away from Teksavvy without ever getting connected. After sending out two technicians, still no connection and no follow-up from tech support. I was charged the full first month fee despite never having a connection, because I wasn't willing to wait another week for them to get around to sending someone out to figure out what the problem was. Two weeks to get connected is not reasonable. Worst. Service. Ever. read more

STAY AWAY FROM TEKSAVVY!!! When I called Teksavvy to sign up, I was told they would contact Bell and Distributel (our long distance provider) to cancel our service. They gave a date our service would be discontinued with our previous providers and TekSavvy would take over. Now I know why they take payment before any service (or lack of) is to start. The services were not cancelled and I continued to receive a bill from Bell and Distributel. Teksavvy would not take responsibility for any failure on their behalf. I spent hours on the phone talking with multipul representatives, including upper management. All these people are trained to do is read you their Terms and Conditions. I'm still dealing with my problem weeks later. The term "Customer Service" is an oxymoron when it comes to Teksavvy. read more

Great isp so long as you don't move or need any customer support. Customer support is not helpful at all. They also have no QA in place for when they mess up, such as not processing move orders or cancelling your service unexpectedly. read more

I took the tecksavvy connection before which i was with Rogers. The reason for moving was the monthly fees however, Rogers was very fast and reliable. With Tecksavvy i have been having lot of problems. Speed is very very very slow, unable to use my VOIP and many more other issues. Called customer service twice and the wait time is atleast 45 mins. Was informed that they are importing equipments from Japan but they do not know when the equipment will be installed. wait until the end of the month and then decide. read more

I've been with TekSavvy for a few years. They do provide internet at a cheaper rate than the competition, however it really is not worth the headache and feeling taken advantage of. It was great dealing with them in the past, they have gotten very popular through word of mouth but cannot seem to accommodate the larger in flux of customers. If you are seeking cable internet you should be fine. HOWEVER I highly recommend staying away if you are seeking DSL, phone, tek talk, ESPECIALLY SWITCHING FROM BELL/ROGERS I cannot emphasize this enough. My latest problem with them a few months back was ordering a DSL package with phone and internet. The phone was to be activated on said date and Bell technician came to do the switch over. It didn`t work, no service. I called them and they were able to send another tech however they would not send one until I agreed to pay just under $100 if the issue was with the demarcation point inside the house. But here`s the thing, you have to pay the first bills, activations, and equipment up front . So I`m paying them hundreds of dollars to activate the service but the technician they send doesn't do his job properly and isn`t able to activate the service and they want to charge me for that? Bell produces the charge to upset Teksavvy customers but Teksavvy can't even fight for you or atleast rightly compensate you? That's great customer service. I did some research on the issue online and found many who have been charged this fee even though the issue was out of their control. If you gave them your visa and chose automated monthly payments you're kind of screwed. Once you call visa to dispute and do a chargeback and they lose out on that fee, they will cancel your service. I found someone who had paid a year up front and they cancelled it all because he didn't agree on the tech fee. The possibility of it all made me furious. Then the second technician scheduled no showed. A week later another was dispatched and finally finished the job. Luckily they didn't charge me the tech fee, but it doesn't end here. They continuously say don't worry you will be receive a prorated credit. I moved my services at another address a year earlier and paid the moving fee. They sent a third party contractor who couldn't set up the cable internet just said sorry I can't do it and left. I was without internet for a week and months passed but received no credit. This time customer service told me the same thing, "I can't give you credit but I can put in a request, 1-2 months to see if you're approved." 1-2 months! For a couple freaking dollars even? The main issue is that there are several others especially this year not receiving service and promised refunds. Particularly with the tektalk you'll find a lot of customers not being able to receive incoming calls for weeks and no refund or credit. Google "teksavvy scam refund" and you will find many. It's a shame they have gotten so big through word of mouth cannot even honor there word, especially in regard to the refund since you're paying up front which makes it a flat out scam. From my experience, the customer service just doesn't care. I don't think they receive any incentive whatsoever. Sadly, it does not end there. I ordered internet to be set up as well and when it didn't work on said date I called and you wouldn't believe what they told me. They said the order had been cancelled by Bell. It's on their file yet they can't even inform there customers when Bell cancels there orders? I googled this issue as well and Bell has done this to quite a few people and there are no reasons needed. That is a very bush league move against the competition but TekSavvy just accepts it and says oh well? Again no customer support. Then the setup gets delayed again. This might seem like quite the rant but the people at TekSavvy could at least use a little bit more effort in trying to helping their customers. They don't have to combat Bell but is it that hard to shell out a few dollars of credit or give honorable refunds? There are so many stories like mine you can find through google even lasting months. It seems like unless the right person gets involved you're screwed. Half the agents don't care and will keep transfering you around even back to guys you spoke to previously. If you guys want to sign up go ahead, just beware of the issues at hand and don't take it with a grain of salt. read more

Versus the competitors (especially Roger's), they have a good price for product, but they can't do any of their own work. On my third try for teksavvy to send a Roger's tech over to setup the connection (since they can't do it themselves). Have not gotten much help from them except the scripted "I understand your frustration" line. When asked that if I can get a refund for lack of service, the response was a resounding "No, we need to troubleshoot your problem first". There is nothing to troubleshoot since I do not have any service- troubleshooting implies I have issues with a service. In summary, teksavvy is good for price and there is no need for an onsite tech. If there is a need, then .....ooooooo...boy....lots of frustrations. read more

We recently switched to Teksavvy because we were paying ridiculous amounts with Rogers. I've heard good things about this carrier however, tech support is nowhere to be seen when you need them. We had to pay an installation fee which I do not understand because I'm setting up the whole thing myself. I don't know if I am even doing it correctly and I've been trying to contact them since yesterday. I keep sending emails and although they do reply, I need assistance asap. So for now, I do know if I am satisfied with this service. read more

Worst service I have ever received! No warning when they were going to show up. When the cable "technician" finally came to set it up he was rude and arrogant. Advised us we didn't have the "Mercedes" of modems and he would order a new one for us (along with other equipment we didn't want or need), we would get it mailed and would have to set it up ourselves. Everything would be on our first bill. I asked him to forget about it and leave; yet we still got billed for the crap service plus the first month. Perhaps the cable "technicians" should take a course on customer service etiquette. I know the cable people are from Rogers but ultimately it does effect teksavvy's reputation. We obviously cancelled and would NOT recommend it. Waste of time and money. read more

they get no stars - what a bunch of crooks - signed up for dsl service - at 7 pm on the day they were supposed to come (noon to 9 pm window, really???) they EMAILED me to say they weren't coming - which would have been GREAT if I actually had the internet -duh! They randomly reschedule for 4 days later - Bell guy shows up - says the line is working but not at the jack I need for the modem - he says TekSavvy will correct - 2 hours later the Tek Savvy guy (which is a subcontractor, I later learned) came and fiddled with the wires. He didn't bring a laptop so asked to borrow mine, What???? He couldn't get the internet working so finally said to call Tech Support and get them to "walk me through it". I called and after 2 hours was able to get very slow (dial-up speed) internet - signed up for 15mbs service. Later that day - no internet. Called the next day to tech support, again after 3 hours of a "walk through", repeating everything from the day before, I get slow and intermittent internet. Then it cuts out again. So now on DAY 3 of tech support and spend over 5 hours trying this, doing that, moving the modem to various locations in my house. I asked to cancel my service and get a full refund and THEY REFUSED saying I had to give them the opportunity to "fix" the problem. So, I asked how many hours of Tech Support that entailed - just so I could put my personal life on hold to see this through! They incidated that I couldn't get a refund but I could cancel the service and lose over $200.00 - Oh and btw, I would still have to pay for a full month of service even though I had actually received about 2 hours of actual SLOW internet. Well, we finished Day 3 with the internet back again. Well by now, you know what is going to happen - as soon as it gets dark outside, the internet is gone like the sun! Onto DAY 4 - 8 AM, I am now just calling to cancel and get my refund - but wait, the Supervisor in "charge of lots of things" (her words, not mine) is unable to give me my refund until Tech Support have completed all avenues of "troubleshooting the problem". I asked what more could be done and how much was reasonable for a person to go through - her reply? - she didn't know because she wasn't with the Tech Support! So I circled round to Tech Support AGAIN and 4 hours later, I was told I needed to have Bell come out and check my lines (they could come between 7am and 9 pm on Thursday). ARE YOU KIDDING???? a 14 hour window? Oh, and if Bell found nothing wrong with the line, I would be required to pay $100.00 for their call-out. This was TechSavvy's "next step" in troubleshooting. By this point, I had had enough and decided to cancel and take alternate steps to getting my money back. after this, I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND TECH SAVVY TO ANYONE - if you are remotely even thinking about getting them, run away - they are unethical and once they have your money - you will never get it back - they have no idea about customer service. read more

Teksavvy is the WORST INTERNET PROVIDER! If you want to save yourself time and the headache, it's worth spending the extra few dollars to go with Rogers or Bell. I had to wait a month and a half for anyone to finally show up at my home to install the internet. Not to mention, Teksavvy provides you with various times for installation from week to week and they keep cancelling their appointments with you. I've waited for someone to show up at my home for hours on a certain day and no one came. Also, you wait on the line for hours to receive help. Worst company I have ever dealt with. Not worth it! read more

Let me start with saying this, Teksavvy has some people who work there who are aquetate at customer service. The others not so much. If you don't want to read the whole story. The long story short was that I paid $230 for 3 days of internet over a 2 week period. I got refunded $75 dollars and I am back with shaw for the inevitable future. The fiasco of dealing with Teksavvy all started 3 weeks ago. I was tired of dealing with Shaw's high priced internet and decided to give teksavvy a call. I had my Shaw service cancelled and my teksavvy service started. The day teksavvy internet was supposed to come in effect a shaw technician( teksavvy ruins through Shaw's internet lines and uses shaw technician to do there installs for a fee) came by my apartment building and installed the internet. First off this install will cost $80 versus shaw's $30 fee. So the install was done during the day and I had no chance to check if my internet was working because I had to go straight to work. I got home that day and turned on my computer and played with the settings to make sure the internet was working. It didn't work so I did all the troubleshooting steps with my newly purchased $100 teksavvy modem they force you to buy. The internet still didn't work so I got on the phone and called teksavvy. They then gave me something called a ticket and told me to wait until a tech guy would call me to troubleshoot. The guy didn't call until 2 days later and during that time the internet worked twice for 30 minutes each time. When I got on the phone with him, we went over trouble shooting steps and the internet didn't start working till the very end of the phone call when I hung up. I thought great, he fixed my problem, a bit of inconvenience for 2 days, but now we are up and running like normal. Boy was I wrong that internet lasted 3 days before it shut off completely. The online light was off and there was no way to fix it through troubleshooting. 5 Days of no internet later my second call with a tech agent ended with him saying that there is a problem with a radio frequency and a technician needs to come in and fix it. I'm starting to get pretty angry at this point and trying to keep my cool by any means necessary and ask if there estimate of coming in 2 to 3 days is firm or it could be more then 3 days. They said it was just an estimate and could be longer. I ask to cancel because going to coffee shops to work from home is not an option keeping the confidentiality of my clientele's personal is impossible in a public space. I proceed to ask for a cancellation of my services and a meager $10 was offered as a refund after shelling out $230 for the the modem, installation and the first month of service. I ask with more with contempt in voice because at this point I feel like I am being robbed and the robber is waving my money in front of my face. I get off the phone after arguing for half an hour. I go to bed angry and wake up the next day seething with anger. I just payed $230 for 3 days of internet and my only options are to keep the service and hope it all get fixed while waiting at home for a technician that could or couldn't come to my apartment. The other option was to cancel the service and be done with his horrid service and $220 poorer. I decided to cut my losses and call teksavvy back up. When I get on the phone my courage lifts a little bit and I confirm to myself I will not go out without a fight. I tell the woman all the things that I experienced over my 2 weeks with teksavvy. She didn't know what to do because at this point I was livid and a man from escalation was transferred to my call. I told the man the same thing as the woman and he said that he's manger was very disappointed at how my file was handled. He offered me $75 for returning my modem and that was about it. He explained that every time I called that cost me money and that after the multiple calls I made my possible refund of $150 ( I couldn't get reimbursed for the $80 install because that was in Shaw's hands now) that I was left with half of it. I called Shaw the next day and got a date this weekend for them to reinstall my internet. They waived the install fee so I pretty much paid $150 for 3 days of internet. The better business bureau will be notified and I hope that anyone who lives in Vancouver or Canada for that matter doesn't get swindled by this awful company. read more

We have tektalk phone with tek savvy. Our home address was not changed for 2 months after we moved. Meant emergency call would have sent 911 responders to the wrong address. When using VoIP service you receive very strong warning about keeping your address correct since it's used for 911 calls. Tek savvy had new address on service records, but old address for billing and acc. Info. This was only one of the mix ups with tek savvy. Only use Tek savvy if you don't rely on the service they provide. read more

I've been with Teksavvy for almost a year and almost every night of the week around midnight the connection stops working for about 15 minutes to hour and half. I called the support which always takes about 30 to 45 mins to get an agent and they never gave me any straight answer. I was with Rogers and Bell before and the only reason I switched to Teksavvy was b/c it's cheaper so I guess you get what you pay for. If you don't mind long wait to get support or connection interruption that this company is for you but I'm thinking of switching back to either Bell or Rogers as I need a steady and stable connection read more

AVOID THIS ISP - they screw you just as hard as the big companies. We were supposed to have DSL set up at our new home. We were given a 12-9 p.m. window. At 8:45 a.m. a telecom tech called and said he wanted to come now. We accommodated this request. All he did was plug in our modem and leave. Thanks? Hours later the Bell tech came and did some work outside but told us the Telecom tech should've come after him for the installation process to be completed. Obviously since he came at 9 in the morning we had no chance of this ever going smoothly. We called Teksavvy who were of no help and had no solution except "call back after midnight". We called Saturday and were told no one could come finish the job until WEDNESDAY and there may be further costs. At this point I cancelled my service and went with a company who could help me ASAP. I work from home and need internet to work. Now Teksavvy is refusing to rescind the $50 activation fee for internet that was never activated! Dealing with their customer service has been atrocious. They flat out refuse to do right by a customer. Instead we are being charged and punished because they don't coordinate their techs or hold them responsible for their crappy work. On their main Residential web page they state this: "At TekSavvy, you don't get just an Internet Service Provider (ISP); you get an Internet Service Provider (ISP) that cares. We know you need choice, you need an alternative to the big guys, and you need to know at the end of the day we'll take care of you no matter what. We are committed to giving our customers the best internet service and the best phone service possible. In fact, we pride ourselves on that: on being able to give you more than you thought possible, all for a fair price, with great service, and with no contracts and no hidden fees." What an outright lie. I have never been treated so terribly by a company that is completely unwilling to do right by a customer. I am being forced to pay $50 for nothing except a lot of stress. read more

I read the other reviews from Western Canada and seems I have the same issue. Teksavy relies on Shaw tech to do the installations. I got a call the installation day, to call back and confirm that I am home. I call back at the number and Shaw support came up. They decline they work with Teksavey and they asked me to call them directly. After 5 calls between Teksavy and Shaw the technician never came to my house. Pending rescheduling and now I am terrified that I will not have internet. Seems more people like me having same issues from West canada. Too bad because I had Teksavy in Toronto and they were terific. If they do not do something fast they lost my business. read more

Teksavvy is a terrible service, do not go with them. After 3 weeks of waiting, I still do not have internet. They sent a technician over and they wasted my evening. To make up for their failure, they have to send an other technician and to do it in a reasonable time, they want me to miss a half day of work. So far, not impressed. I ordered the service to be installed June 15, it finally worked August 10, in the meantime, they continued to charge me for service. However they just applied what I paid to the next two months, and now want full payment. Taking my business elsewhere read more

Very unhappy with the service so far. When initially signed up for 100 Mbps tier cable internet I was told I had to order a specific modem for this speed tier but was not informed that this modem had huge wireless connectivity issues and that there would not be a fix in the foreseeable future. At a rate of 82.95 a month for unlimited internet at this speed, and the modem costing me almost 300 dollars and then having to go buy a 70 dollar router because their modem doesn't provide reliable wifi, I am less than pleased. I have had to call in numerous times for tech outages/issues and their customer service sucks. Not willing to at least compensate me for the router I had to go buy because their wifi on their router doesn't work is total BS read more

No internet service and no customer service. Been without internet for a week (since last Monday). First they blamed the problem on Rogers. Rogers fixed their problem and I called to let them know we still had no internet, they dismissed it and told me to wait. Case manager was not available. Next day I called and they said they closed my ticket and cancelled the tech that was supposed to come Wednesday. They said they would try to send someone. Case manager was not available. Again, on Wednesday no one came, they rescheduled the tech for Friday morning. Friday morning no one came, they said they called, but I was home all day and nobody from the company called the house number. Later I found out they had called my husband's cell phone number, which is not the number on the account. I called them to hopefully have someone come in that afternoon, they said they would try. Case manager was not available, but I was told he/she would give me a call. It's Monday, a week later, I have no service and have not heard from them. read more

Have enjoyed Teksavvy but the last two months - argh. First the phishing at same time their unlimited plans were being rolled out. Was receiving daily emails such as one day "you have used 88% of your usage" and the next day "you have used 95% of your monthly usage"...when before NEVER exceeded monthly usage. Teksavvy was eliminating my plan (35) and whether rightly or wrongly made it felt like a push to either move to unlimited package with less speed and about same price , or more expensive unlimited package with slightly more speed and also requirement to buy a new modem. I felt forced to move as suddenly being hit with overuse feel ...and now have a slower plan than before! Teksavvy always had the edge of being competitive (and friendly employees) but their plan reconfiguration-when other companies are lowering their fees - is less competitive and looks to be a bit of a money grab.I am looking at other options with super fast speed that have recently become available in our building, wth the added bonus of being a slightly more stable service. Pushed to the dark side:) read more

Teksavvy...Cheap Yes..Good when it works but look-out if you have a problem! Horrible Service and Tech Support. Managers never call you back when you ask one to..Support is either untrained and clueless or rude and arrogant... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I just got off of the phone with Teksavvy customer service and have CANCELLED my high speed cable internet with them. First, you need to know that Teksavvy is not an "internet provider", like Bell or Rogers. Teksavvy is what's called a "Third Party Internet Provider. This means that they do not have any of their own lines to serve you with your connection and bandwidth. That is all purchased from Rogers and Bell and then resold to you when you sign up with them. Ultimately you are still doing business with Bell and Rogers but with another party, Teksavvy, in-between. I cancelled my service with them because their tech support is atrocious. Well, that might not be fair. In order for their tech support to be atrocious it would actually have to exist first. Sure, they have people answering the phones but some of these people or so limited in training that they will tell you things like "try unplugging the co-ax cable from your modem and plugging it back in,,,sometimes that will fix a problem" or "you will never get good speeds on your connection because you are using a wireless router". Both of those statements are completely in error and absolutely ridiculous. In the case of high speed cable, if you have any issues at all then all Teksavvy will do is send an email to Rogers and wait for, an agreed upon with Rogers, 48 hours and hope that Rogers responds. In most cases Rogers doesn't respond on the first try and they have to email again, this time with a 24 hour wait. It can sometimes take 3 or 4 emails before Rogers even acknowledges Teksavvy's mail and then who knows how long to actually fix the issue after that. Just before I cancelled I was reading a post in the Teksavvy section at dslreports.com where a customer will be down for 15 days best case scenario if Rogers actually shows up to fix his issue when they are booked to. 15 days his internet has been completely dead. That's ridiculous. Teksavvy offers high speed internet at prices that are cheaper that Rogers or Bell but when you have a problem or your internet goes completely down, be prepared for a long wait to get it fixed. The people in tech support are iether untrained and clueless or rude and arrogant. You can sit on hold for over an hour just waiting to speak to someone and then get little or no help. My advice is for everyone to steer clear of Teksavvy. The low cost is just not worth the headaches you can experience. read more

Next month I am switching my Rogers Home Phone to TS VoIP service. I have several friends using TS VoIP and they have no complaints. Great service....and I am saving big money each month. read more

i signed up and bought my modem through them which was a big mistake . Teksavvy installation is actually done by Bell. Installer came activated the line but still no DSL service. Bell thinks it's a bad modem. When I called Teksavvy to cancel since nothing is working I was told they won't refund me anything. As a second option I spoke to their tech guy who insisted modem is fine and it's probably a bad phone cord or maybe just wait through midnight since he thinks Bell does some midnight update. Anyway, morning comes still no DSL service, I then bought a new phone cord and still no DSL service. Now Teksavvy is now sending Bell to troubleshoot again and another modem who the previous Teksavvy tech insisted was fine, how he was so sure who knows. I also had to agree to a disclaimer before they'd send out a Bell tech to agree to pay a service charge if Bell doesn't find a problem with their install. Bell came back and found out they hooked me up to the wrong phone line. Now everything is working. Why 3 stars, primarily because of the poor install process and troubleshooting. We'll see, Teksavy does seem to offer the best value for internet service in GTA. read more

TekSavvy, WORST Customer Service!!!!! Gene Yus is a Putz. Get a Call back system so customers aren't on hold for days, weeks, and months. I personally have been on hold for 4++ hrs, on several occasions. This is not uncommon. They told me a date of install, I waited all day for a no-show. No one in the place, when you do get them on the phone has any technological background, nor do they have any pull with the Telco's that they are leasing the pipe from. So when they book a date of install on your behalf, you never really have the ability to confirm with the installation tech he will be onsite as planned. Don't believe me ... ask the support Team at TekSavvy, to provide you a number that you can confirm with the actual Telco their piggybacking onto so you can confirm that the installation and tech will be there as promised. First you need to get these clowns on the phone to ask them. I've actually called the Telco, they won't talk to you, you have to exclusively deal with TekSavvy which has no clout. They promise the moon deliver zip, nada, zero. I've been billed and still have no service and have been told I would be contacted with a new installation date within 2-3 days, that promise was 10 days ago. They are at the mercy of the Telco's when it comes to Modems which you buy from them. Geez Gene Yus, your a communication company, duh, communicate with customers, we live in a world where getting back to folks customers should take minutes not hours, days, weeks, month's Cancelled, cancelled, and cancelled! read more

Teksavvy used to be great, the prices and speeds were fair. The customer service was always a little slow and I was ok with that due to discount price, however now it is impossible to reach a customer service rep. I originally called to change my address and continue the service...the wait time was over 2hrs. I opted to send in 3 online tickets..still no response...I then decided to cancel my service. Since their website states you can only cancel via phone, I tried calling 3 more times at various times throughout the day, but still always received the over 2hrs wait message. The next billing period came and I was charged. I kept calling and after send messages to their facebook page, dslreports, and IM, I finally got hold of someone on IM after waiting for an hour and a half. They said they would not refund the month. Further, the rep would not acknowledge that the wait times are over two hours. The service rep, David P had said that I should have called right at 8am when the wait times are 'minutes.' Not only is this not true, but I think they fail to understand that this is customer service, not a radio contest. Teksavvy's customer service is unacceptable. I would definitely not do business with them ever again. If you are looking for a cheap internet package there are now plenty of alternative re-seller providers. read more

I have to say that I haven't had such poor customer service from any company I've ever dealt with. I recently tried to switch to teksavvy after growing tired of all the billing nonsense at Rogers. I was given an install date for home phone, took the day off work and waited...and waited. At the end of the day, no one called or came so I called and was told I would get a call back in 24hrs. I waited again. Still no call. Two days after the phone was supposed to be installed, I called again, only to be told that yes my phone was installed. I told them no technician had contacted me and I still had no dial tone. I was transferred to Tech Support and waited for 27 minutes before someone came on the phone. I was then greeted by the snottiest technical support rep I've ever had to deal with in my life. He told me that they could send another technician out but that I may be charged for the visit. I told him that I hadn't even had my phone connected yet so didn't think it was fair that I should have to pay for a technician to come since they had already billed my credit card for the installation and the first month's fees. He said I could "take it or leave it". I asked him to cancel everything because I didn't want to give my money to any company that would treat their customers the way I was being treated. He told me that he could but that I would not be getting a refund because their records indicate that my phone was installed...even though I had no dial tone! Up until now I had only heard good things about Teksavvy. I saw them as a small company I wanted to support them. BUT THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN IT COMES TO CUSTOMER SERVICE! I was planning on switching to their Internet service as well once my 30 day cancellation period was up with Rogers but decided to go with Acanac after my experience with these idiots. It turns out Acanac offers free home phone with their internet service so there was a silver lining to this horrible experience. read more

After a year of service with Teksavvy they are no better than Bell. If you ever needed to experience feeling like a ping pong ball, try calling their tech support with a real issue. I have been kicked back and forth for weeks. I even cancelled and reactivated in order to have someone guarantee the service would be operational. After yet another failed attempt they demand even more money on top of the activation fee to perform more tests related to the installation. This is after paying an activation fee. This is a complete and total joke. I've had better service from Bell following the unfortunate outsourcing of their tech support to an untrained call centre than what I get from Teksavvy's support techs. I'm glad they are a Canadian company but they can't seem to get the service working or provide any meaningful alternatives. I want my money back and my lost time returned from this joke of a company. Buyer beware! read more

Run, do not walk, from Teksavvy. Their name should be 'not-teksavvy'. Today was my install day. They sent me an email 2 weeks earlier saying my install window was 8am-5pm. It never happened. When I called them, they said the activation could take until midnite. I said that was unlikely since there are no Bell wires connected inside my house. I tried to tell them that for 2 weeks and no one, I mean no one, would take me seriously. When I expressed frustration that I lost a days wages while I waited for their phantom-install, they said I didn't need to be at my house because Bell was doing a remote activation. But their email to me told me to be sure to have someone over 18 present at the house during the install window. Teksavvy is a company that can't deliver and they aren't willing to take the customer seriously. This has been an exercise in frustration. Now I know why the big guys just laugh at the small providers. And that's why the big guys can charge huge rates. read more

Terrible company. 30-45 minute waits on the phone minimum if you have any problem. My internet hasn't worked most of the time I got them. Three phonecalls later, no tech was ever sent to fix the recurring outages. The cable is perfect, I think it's a problem with the crappy modem they sent me, since I never had a problem with the Rogers cable connection I had before which is what is being used right now (since TekSavvy is a 3rd party distributor for Rogers). They are not willing to refund the full amount for the modem. 20% restocking fee & $15 "handling" charges. The modem doesn't work with a lot of the new wi-fi routers on the market at the moment & the TekSavvy tech's response to that is "call the manufacturer of the router & they should be able to help you out." They also refused to refund me money for lack of service saying since I have high-speed cable, they can't track my usage (Rogers can easily track usage). Terrible service. I regret signing with them & wasting my money on them. read more

The service was fine in my first apartment, but when I had moved to another area of Toronto they could only offer the slowest speed of internet. The technician had come out to connect the internet and told me that i wasn't going to be able to use it because of the slow speed, He wasn't able to connect to anything so he advised me of the situation that I would be better off with another service. I had emailed teksavvy to cancel my services. 4 months down the road i find out that they had been charging me since, had no record of the connection issue. They had said the technician completed the job and no issues were noted. They said they received my email and had informed me I can't cancel services through email and continued to charge me even though my last conversation over the phone with teksavvy was to place my services on hold until connected so I won't be charged. Now they claim that i should have called when i had connection issues....not even aware i still had services still with them, nice teksavvy... obviously no reimbursement is possible for the past 4 months for their screw up. read more

***STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY****If it were possible to leave a negative rating, I would be all over that. This company makes it next to impossible to do business with them. Sign up is a breeze, but if you encounter any snag, every step after is like pulling teeth. None of their departments seem to communicate with each other, don't seem to have any authority to assist in any way. They will only install service between 8-4 from Monday-Friday. I sat at home for upwards of 5 hours, waiting for a technician who never showed up. When I called Teksavvy, they were unable to tell me what was going or what happened to the technician, and were unable to call them. So, I took an entire day off work for nothing. When I attempted to cancel service for the mix-up, they advised that no, the technician had connected my remotely? Then why the hell did I have to take time off work to be there for the technician if they weren't even needing access to my home? When I attempted to cancel, they advised that they'd still be keeping the activation fee if I cancelled, despite it only being a day. If I could go back and just sign up with the big cable company, I would. The extra money I'd be paying would be worth not having to deal with this company and their AWFUL customer service. read more

Where is this great Teksavvy that you are talking about???? Been a customer for just over a month now, purchased their modem, and upon day of installation have been calling them NON STOP for either no connection or lack of speed promised. (CABLE) Oh yes, and if I had only known they were using Rogers I would not have chosen them in the first place as I had just left Rogers. Good grief these people are rude, have sent Rogers 4 tickets now only to let Rogers trump them every time and ignore the tickets sent even though Teksavvy themselves acknowledge that there is definitely a problem!!! I have spent over 10 hours on hold, I have done endless system check's is horrid and I have had Teksavvy deny me any credit for inferior service even though it has been only 30 days of service and I have paid them almost 300 dollars to date including all costs (set up, modem, first two months bills - they bill a month in advance) .They most certainly are not acting as a responsible company as they pass my phone calls and my emails from staff member to staff member. read more

Teksavvy was recommended by a friend who's been happy with them for a long time. I tried out their 6MBS Internet and it was always as fast as it was supposed to be. I cancelled because I wanted to get a higher speed and Shaw was offering a price not that much more for a higher speed than teksavvy had at the time. Shaw's speed has turned out to be significantly less than advertised but it's fast enough for me currently, and the modem rental is free, where with teksavvy I had to buy their modem. However, teksavvy has my trust for delivering the speed advertised, reimbursing me for the portion of the month I paid for but only used a week or so of, reimbursing me for nearly the full price of the modem, plus, because they forgot to charge me tax for my initial payment, they waived it for me, accepting full responsibility. I definitely recommend teksavvy. I hope they get higher speeds to compete with telus, Shaw and rogers. When my 2 year contract with shaw is over, I'll be checking what teksavvy's offering. That's another plus for teksavvy; no penalties for cancelling service, whereas I'd be paying heavily if I were to cancel before the two years with shaw. A plus for shaw is they required no advance payment and it was installed the same day I signed up. With teksavvy I had to wait about a week for the technician and the shipped modem. Shaw brought their modem. No waiting without Internet or having to track a package at the post office. When my contract with shaw is nearing its end I'll probably set up an appointment with teksavvy because they reimbursed me fully for the time I didn't use (though I had to pay Canada post $30 to send the modem back to teksavvy), and promptly, and didn't penalize me for canceling. Teksavvy, see you in two years when I'm free again. I'll probably sign up just because I like the honesty and freedom from penalties. Please get faster Internet speed if you can, and if you can't, I'll try to be happy with the admittedly adequate speeds you now offer (25 mbps). Oh, I nearly forgot to mention, teksavvy was charging me $12 a month for a "dry loop", because I had no landline. My friend isn't charged for this. I assume it's because he has a landline. Shaw doesn't charge a dry loop fee. I'm not sure I'll sign up with teksavvy in two years but if they have a deal that offers a terabyte per month that is priced fairly I'll try to swallow my greed for speed and vote for honest advertising and freedom to cancel without hefty penalties. Thank you teksavvy for leaving a good taste in my mouth. *Julia isn't my real name. read more

Read the other reviews on here and observe the large number of useful responses on negative reviews and the small number on the positive reviews. That's a clue to the service you will get with this company. Techsavvy used to have a good reputation but have squandered it over the past few years due to over-priced installations, and atrocious support. Here is my story with these clowns. I was originally supposed to receive a modem/ router combo. They sent me the package and double charged me for shipping (1 for router and 1 for modem, though they are together- one unit in one box). Was also charged for having this unit and never refunded. Tech was originally supposed to come Jan 3rd. Drove an hour from another city to meet tech, who never showed up the entire day. When calling, tech said it was our fault and the date was the 2nd (checked email and confirmed it was the 3rd). Rescheduled to the 8th. Tech called the night of the 7th and said they had to postpone. Did not get service until Jan 18th. A new unit was shipped to me, but only included the modem and I was then told I would need to purchase a router. Bought a router, and immediately experienced issues. When calling customer support, they told me they cannot help because it could be the router and that isn't their problem. I said I wanted credit for all the issues experienced and loss of income (I require internet access for my job). They were originally going to charge me for all of January even though they didn't come until the 18th. After a long hassle, I got them to waive the overly-priced activation fee and got a month and a half worth of credit. Was a pain but I was satisfied with that. Over the next 3 weeks I received 5 invoices adding up to around $300 for the few weeks of terrible internet service I had. When emailing to address this issue, I received a response saying I was getting more than I deserved with the 1.5 months credit, even though I was being charged around double the amount I should have been normally, after the credit was issued. The reply also said tech savvy is for recreational purposes and they are not responsible for lost wages. I'm in the hole hundreds of dollars (and that doesn't include the couple grand in lost wages) for internet I've barely used. Customer support is arrogant and incompetent. Save yourself the time, money and frustration and go with another company. read more

First time yelp reviewer, just wanted to share my experience with TekSavvy. Have been on TekSavvy for a year now, and I have no complaints. I pay $45/month for 30 down/5 up cable. That's in comparison to shaw at $75/month for the same thing. That's $360 difference for this year. Minus the modem purchase for $100, and the $60 set up fee, ends up being $200 savings. Still a good savings, but this also means that every year from now on I'll be saving $360/year. Another cool thing is TekSavvy gives unlimited bandwidth between 2am and 8am. So for anything that isn't time sensitive, I use a download program to delay the downloads until 3am when I'm sleeping. Or for a very reasonable $5/month you can just get unlimited bandwidth 24/7(Which I just signed up to because my wife likes her netflix). I did have a few service outages over a period of about a month, but a little investigation showed that it was an issue with the Shaw network and Shaw eventually got their issues cleared up and haven't had an issue since then. One issue some people complain about is they amount of time it takes to get you set up. That is definitely an issue, but if you're organized and have everything booked in advance it's not usually a problem. If you want to wait till the last minute, and expect them to come set you up the next day, good luck. I'm pretty sure the guy that comes to set you up is a shaw guy, and if so, they're not going to be pushing TekSavvy clients to the front of the list. Besides, I've spent plenty of time waiting as both a Shaw and Telus client as well. TekSavvy is a smaller independent company, which the Canadian government has forced the big players (Shaw/Telus) to allow to use their networks. The big players are currently trying to raise costs to dissuade people from internet media by imposing large bandwidth costs and restrictions, and drive us back towards cable packages. These smaller companies are the only ones giving us a fair option since they aren't trying to push overpriced cable bundles at us. Anyway, I'm getting great customer service, great internet service, am saving $360/year, and am supporting smaller company that are one of the only things keeping the big players honest. I'm very happy. read more

Ok Guys! Here is my Tragic Story. Got this Service after seeing all the good things they say on their ADS.. Fantastic ADS BUT THE WAY, but after all this company is a rip off place and & a place to steal from the people that have good faith and believe on a new way of doing business in this Town. I sign up, Happy enough to believed I was getting a good deal. They first ask me for my credit card, because they are not stupid, they services are so dam bad that they know if they do not charge up front NO BODY, NO BODY Will pay for this Crappy Service. Then they get you set up, Monthly fee $30 dollars, $5 Dollars Stupid fee I not even understand ( I guess, lets call it Rip off fee) Then they get you a technician be careful: they do not have time frame.. they said From 8am to 9pm Time and you can not scheduled anything Why? Let me tell you something... if you a working person you do not have that time to waste for a couple o dudes to come and plug some stupid cables... They design this so you miss it and then you have to pay extra 50 bucks so they can come back after they coffe brake, pretty smart isn't it! Then The shipping FEE... After I buy their modem that is pass 130 dollars!!!! they should give free shipping come on!!! After the Technician if we can call them that way, because they do not have any dam clue what are they doing BOOM No Service!!! (AMAGIN ISNT IT) Well, let's say I can see the sign on the wirless but is just about it, not loading pages, not even my temporals- Frustrating- and then Call again to customer service. The Agent Said: Mr..... I see the problem, but we have to send you somebody again to have a look at it and is an extra 87 dollars to double check ( GREAT WAY OF OF STEALING FROM NEW CLIENTS) leaving me no option to Cut right on the spot this scam !!! No way I got this service a day ago and the second day I returned, THIS TAKESAVVY IS PURE AND DENSE B.S!!! STOP WASTING PEOPLE TIME AND MONEY, BUNCH OF SCAMMERS!!!!! read more

Hi I have been with Teksavvy over 5 years and love the service. I get the speed I pay for all the time (even evenings). Have cable internet - now 60 down - was 40 down. I moved last fall and switched my Teksavvy over and the only problem I had was with the installation was due to Cogeco not showing up when they were suppose to. Cogeco claimed they had the wrong apartment in the condo building. Teksavvvy tried to help by contacting Cegoco and trying to push them. They even called after the revised install date to confirm I had phone and internet. I phoned them several months ago and upped my cable speed from 40 to 60 and it took about 45 minutes to get through. Call them late after 10 pm and the wait time seems to be better. The revised speed was working within 15 minutes. Their service at least on cable is second to none. I provided my own modem and router. I hate the all in ones and got at Motorola SB 6141 cheaper locally. I also have a DLink router and also run their IP unlimited phone on the system. I live in Muskoka and my boyfriend was calling me from a payphone in TO as a local call. The problem with switching from Rogers or Bell is you have to buy another modem or you run into problems as Rogers and Bell have to take you off their database before you can use it. You also sometimes have to deal with Rogers or Bell or Cogeco installers and they consider Teksavvy at the bottom of the rung and do it last. When I switched from Rogers 5 years ago, I returned the modem to Rogers at night and the internet and regular phone was up and running the next day when I got home from work. Conclusion: Service is great but you could run into problems due to the other companies installers. In the long run well worth the upfront cost and hassles. read more

I have it hooked up yesterday. The setup process was reasonably smooth, partly because I had rogers many years ago, so the cable was already set up and all. The technician came in, made sure the signal was still on-----which it was, and out of my house in 2 minutes after helping me hook up the modem. So there it is, a cable with signal and a modem working perfectly fine, EXCEPT: NO INTERNET ACCESS!!! For the next half an hour or so, I was trying to figure out what was happening by checking every connection port, read through every line of the manual, rebooting the modem, etc. Nothing seemed to be working. So I had a phone call to their tech support and was put on hold. The tech support hotline had an extremely long holding time. I was on it for about 45 minutes without anyone answering. So I hook my computer back to my old Bell modem (I deliberately have the set up date overlap with my old service for three days, in case anything unpleasant happens), trying to open an online ticket, then something magically happened------The modem rebooted itself and then, viola! I had internet access. Yay! Immediately I did a speed test, it shows I only have slightly over 2Mbp of downloading speed. I paid for a cable30 service, which in theory, should give me 30Mbp of downloading speed!!!! I know it is probably naive to expect it to be as fast as it has promised, but 2 Mbp???? Come on, you gotta be kidding... I am planning on to give it a few days to sort of "warm up", but if it remains like this, they will have to deal with a very angry new customer. All in all, I'd way the Teksavvy statement: different in a good way, might be at least, partially true. However, as an ISP, given the market condition in Canada, some things just would never change. read more

Teksavvy sales order person was very kind and helpful. I ordered the 5Mps internet cable (including Hitron CDA3 modem). I received the modem 4 days after my order. The Teksavvy lady that was looking after my order told me technicians would come and install the internet a week after my order at the time I preferred (6-8pm). (The technicians are Rogers technicians and not Teksavvy. Teksavvy and other independent ISPs use Rogers and Bell technicians to do in person technical work on behalf of them.) The technicians didn't show up at the time I was told they were going to come. Then the lady apologized and said that she had emailed Roger's. So We scheduled another day at the same time frame. The technicians didn't show up again. Then a Roger's dispatcher calls me and tells me the technicians didn't show up because they had a flat tire. Which I figure then it was BS. The technicians were just too lazy to do work at that time. Then the Teksavvy lady apologized again and we scheduled for a day time (10-12 am ) for another day. The technicians then showed up and installed everything. My internet works great now. 5Mps is fast enough for me because I live by myself. I had great experience with Teksavvy when I was living at my parent's place and that is why I chose them when I moved out. So in conclusion, Teksavvy is the best ever. Its even cheaper than Start and other independents if you compare the prices. Start doesn't even offer the lower than 15Mps in my area at least. When you are ordering Teksavvy, chose day time hours as your preferred installation time. Rogers is garbage. The only problem I had installing my internet was because of Rogers. Teksavvy was great in all of this and I am now enjoying my internet. read more

I have been using Teksavvy for almost 2 years and have no complaints. I have never had to wait on hold and the one issue I had, they managed to get a tech to my unit the next day. All the complaints typically come down to one thing, they are at the whims of the ISP they rent the lines from. When scheduling a service appointment, TS customers are at the bottom of the list from the other ISP. When dealing with system issues, the ISP forces them to fill out excessively long and convoluted ticket forms and have to wait for a response before they can relay the info back to the customer. I have had a couple conversations with TS reps, they are perfectly willing to tell you what's up. I wanted to have my bandwidth increased and the rep told me I might need a tech from the other ISP come by run "a test" before upping my bandwidth. He said they often times request this. I said that was odd, and he said he knows but it is something the ISP requests (clearly to cause inconvenience to the customer). Most ISPs make it very hard for resellers to do business. The ONLY reason why internet is becoming more affordable ) is because resellers exist. Local ISPs constantly send me ads with "introductory" pricing with the sheer intent of luring me away from resellers. People don't understand that as soon as these resellers go out of business due to all of their customers being drawn away, prices will go back up. I will happily pay a little more than some "introductory/temporary" savings to make sure there is actual competition in the market. read more
I made a huge mistake switching to Teksavvy. I had heard great things about the company, yet from the get-go I have had issues with this company. 1) They kept messing up my order and they were one month late in setting up my internet. I gave them my full address and I kept getting e-mails stating, "your order cannot be processed. Please contact us immediately." It turns out that they did not make a note of my apartment number the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th time. In total, I gave them my apartment number 4 TIMES! How difficult is it to make a note of an apartment number, specially when I gave this information to 4 reps! Ridiculous! 2) Internet stopped working on day 5! 3) I am on hold. I have been wanting to have my internet fixed for a week now. I have been on hold for 47 minutes! I tried their chat option, but there are no reps available there either. Huge mistake switching to this company!! I wish I hadn't. **Update: It has been almost 2 weeks and still no internet, or callback or any type of follow-up. I get that it is a busy time for Teksavvy but how is it acceptable that I have waited on hold for over 4 hours in 3 days, and even writing on their blog about my concerns has not elicited a response? What have I tried so far: Requested a callback twice, sent 2 e-mails, called and waited on hold for over 45 minutes each time (over 4 hours so far), wrote on Teksavvy blog about my lack of service. Response? Nothing. read more

Their staff are friendly and likeable. Unfortunately all of their services rely on bell or rogers technicians to service their lines. So you are pretty much out of luck if you have any issue at all. Which you will. I tried to upgrade my DSL speed with teksavvy. After a week, they sent a bell technician who put the line out of service (no internet) . I spent a week on the phone, and spoke to pretty much every customer service rep in their chatham office. Each of them made me go through the same process of resetting the modem (about 15 times). After that, they finally sent out another bell tech. This bell tech cancelled his appointment on me, because it was too close to the end of his shift. They then rescheduled the appointment again. The bell tech failed to show for the rescheduled appointment. I'd conservatively estimate I spent around 12-14 hours of phone calls and missed appointments to come to no real solution. I cancelled and signed up with Rogers. It's more expensive but at least I have internet. After cancelling, I received an email from teksavvy requesting that I return the modem that I purchased (about $120) from them, or be charged for it. I had to call in and have them confirm that I had purchased the modem. The rep mentioned I would not be charged and they made a mistake, but I'm not holding my breath. Anticipating having to dispute it once they charge my card anyway. BOTTOM LINE AVOID AT ALL COSTS read more

TECK SAVVY SERVICE SUCKS !!!!!! They don't send out technicians to fix problems with wifi box. Instead I have to call in monthly and trouble shoot for an hour to get my internet back up !!! They say wait times and have you wait on hold for hours later than the time stated by their automated message! I was just told I would be on hold for 15 minutes yet I have been on hold for an hour ! The message continues to say I will be on hold for 15 min. And just now has gone up to 30 min.... EDIT : call wait time went up to 30 min and then went up to an hour !!! After waiting on hold for two hours someone picked up and didn't say anything and hung up on me !!! My service just completely turned off and the bill was just paid two weeks ago !!! They have a message saying their services are completely shut down !!! I'm so pissed off right now and I will be cancelling and changing my service provider !!!! They have the WORST SERVICE!!!! AND MAKE YOU PAY FOR THE INTERNET BOX ! Unlike other companies!!! Oh and they will also completely cut your service off if your late on a payment !!!!!! I was past due 56$ a few months back and they turned off my internet and wouldn't turn it back on until I paid then one month past due by three weeks which was on 56$ !! Don't waist your time or money !! read more

I am living in the Markham area and have switch from Rogers to Teksavvy's Cable 30 Lite for over 8 months now and the internet service is as smooth as before (which shows that Roger's cables are fine) but the speed and price is far more desirable. I bought the most basic Thomson Cable modem from NCIX before applying for their service -- you will need the code from a modem before they could activate your service, that means ordering from them or get one yourself. It turned out that buying one from NCIX is no cheaper than ordering from them. So unless you have one from your previous ISP it would be simpler to order it from Teksavvy. There is really not much to do to activate the service. Very straightforward and uneventful. As I've never had any problem with the internet connection so far, I cannot comment on their customer service. But my question about the modem before using their service got answered effectively. I also like their detailed and up-to-date usage report. (Roger's one is awful by comparison and I got over my usage limit twice unexpectedly, and without warnings...) The internet speed tested through CIRA.ca is about what's been promised (up/down: 5/28Mbps instead of the 'up to' 5/30Mbps advertised.) Not much to complain about so far! read more

I have been with Teksavvy for 4 years. Never had any issues at all. My monthly bill for the same service has only gone down since I signed up which I've never heard of! Recently my kids have their own devices so there are more demands on my Wi-Fi. Started to have trouble with the WiFi only dropping. Called Teksavvy support to figure out why. They could not have been more friendly and helpful. I'm not very good with electronic stuff but they were determined to help me. Modem just needed an update, and they walked me through it all the way with tons of encouragement, and even dumbed down the terms for me. I called them later to find out the problem was with my router which is not their piece of tech. They didn't tell me it's not their problem. In stead, they vowed to research my router and figure out the best possible solution to get me back and running. It took some time to get me back on line, but they kept encouraging me and saying they won't give up until we get it right! We did, eventually, and my internet is BLAZING fast now. I could not say enough about this company and their support employees who bend over backwards to help. Great internet from a company that actually seems to care about their customers! My hat is off to these guys! read more

Hi.. I had TekSavvy but cancelled after the first month. I had DSL and was supposed to be getting 15mbps download & 10mbps upload. Their customer service was great (until I said I wanted to cancel) but they never fixed any of the problems for the long run... I was somtimes getting close to the "up to 15mbps" i was paying for but frequently I would experience speeds of 1-3.5 mbps download. Brutal. They tried to blame it on my router but I tried it at a friend's place (in the same building as me) that had bell DSL and it worked like a charm for the whole damn day... Needless to say I switched to Virgin "Steve" internet and am not looking back. I've consistently been getting the full speed that I'm paying for! Highly recommended. And they two have awesome customer service. 2/5 stars as I've defintley had better. I thought it might have been because DSL was crappier than cable or something as I've always had cable in past places I've lived for the past 3 years but I never had a problem with Bell or Rogers cable back then.....Looks like TekSavvy gets the shitter part of the Bell network or something! Also 2 stars because the internet did still work it was just very slow and I felt ripped off... read more

Montreal QC, New house in Canada. I called them to order their DSL internet. We Firstly took a date in 4 or 5 days for the Bell electrician to pass make the change. It is mandatory. They asked me my credit card number and told me that there was no other way to pay. Then, before we concluded a deal, suddently, the date in 4-5 days we took won't be available for a technician to pass, they said. At that time the visa credit card is already charged and the electrician date is not even taken). I then asked to take a rendez-vous with a technician on weekends only and that brings me to many months of waiting. I work 12 hours a day from monday to friday most of the time. Too long for me. I said, I cancel everything and want a refund. They said they will refund me. I checked the visa status 1 week later, they did refunded me. Important: If your only availability is on weekends only, know that you could wait 2 to 6 months for a mandatory electrician to pass, so that you do not call them and loses their time. This way everything is clear, and it is probably a wonderful company when you get their services. read more

Finally decided to leave Rogers. Rogers: Express Cable - $48.99/month Modem Rental - $7/month 18M Down 514K Up 80Gb Usage (CONTRACT) I could never get more than 15M, download was always slow. Customer service was crap. Always gave me answers that wouldn't solve the issue. I requested to get a new modem from them because mine wasn't working that well but they said I needed to upgrade to a more expensive plan or else I will have to buy it at full price. Had enough so I changed to teksavvy. Teksavvy: Express Cable - $39.99/month Modem Rental - NONE ($65 Dollars For Purchase) 18M Down 514K Up 300Gb Usage (NO CONTRACT) It was really simple. Went over to the store to save $10 on shipping which was mandatory on the website. The gentlemen there made it so that I would get internet the day I disconnected from Rogers. I didn't have any downtime or what so ever. I also got another $10 OFF the modem they were selling. Would suggest to people if you are changing from ROGERS or BELL to get cancellation date then going to the store as soon as possible so they can help you make everything seemless. read more

We have been using Teksavvy for 3 years, and have recommended it to many people. They are reliable and fast, and they don't throttle like Rogers does. The price is great too! There are three very heavy users in our household, and we pay $47 including tax per month. Mr. J's complaints are actually things that are done by Rogers. Since Rogers has to send someone out to physically connect the cable (or Bell in the case of DSL) they drag their feet on it to frustrate customers of their competitors. Rogers also does billing and collections for anyone who is selling cable internet, so they try to frustrate you there too. However, once you're connected, the service runs smoothly and on the odd occasion there is a problem, I have had great success with Teksavvy's support via phone and e-mail. They respond to me quickly and make every effort to get things working right. I recommend buying your own modem from Canada Computers, as they don't cost much and you can get the same model modem there that Teksavvy would sell or rent to you. Then you don't have to deal with shipping. read more

I had Teksavvy internet service in Abbotsford, BC, in 2016 and then moved. When I returned to Abbotsford in 2017, I was able to use Teksavvy again. Unfortunately, there was a connection issue and no internet signal was being detected. Their customer service rep Les was really good about following up with me and when the connection issue was resolved through Shaw Cable, Teksavvy gave me a credit for the 2 weeks I paid for that I was not able to use. I have always had reliable service from them in the roughly 2 years I have been an on again/off again customer. My only complaint with the company so far is that on the two intial occasions I had to call them to restart my service and to resolved the connection issue I had 40 minute and 60 minute waits. However, once I spoke to them I was put on direct access and was able to call and speak to their customer service people immediately. As an added bonus for the same price I paid last year I now get unlimited downloads and had a cheaper connection fee! So after all that I would still recommend them. read more

Our family has been facing serious internet connection issues with Tek Savvy for more than 5 months now! We attempted to switch from wifi connect to cable internet, but it has never worked properly, and as a result, we have had to PAY for both services for 4 months now!! We have called multiple times to report ongoing (DAILY) outage issues (March 2020, April 2020, June 2020 and recently a few weeks ago) on both sources of internet connection, but have had no real solutions provided by customer services (just simply "unplug and try again"). We have now had our modem replaced, and it is STILL NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY! During this COVID-19 context when we are operating work out of our home, these services is imperative, and continually falling short! Daily, the internet has a long portion of outage (usually 2 - 3 hours) where both connections do not work (both plug-in and wifi). We are anxious for the company to come up with an actual solution, before continuing to rip us off and to provide extremely sub-par services. read more

This company's service is abysmal and totally disappointing. From the moment I attempted to cancel my subscription, I encountered sheer incompetence. Their representative abruptly hung up on me as soon as I mentioned my intention to cancel. When I needed a simple relocation of services within the same building, it took them 10 days to respond, despite a lengthy one-hour phone call to explain the straightforward move. To make matters worse, they initially agreed to change the cable, only to backtrack via email and abruptly terminate my portal, containing all my vital information and billing details. Upon calling them again to ensure the cancellation of my subscription, the agent abruptly ended the call while I was still seeking clarification. It's uncertain whether my subscription was actually canceled. In all my experiences with service providers in Canada, this has been by far the worst. Their lack of professionalism and disregard for customer satisfaction are utterly unacceptable. read more
