I ordered the cheese steak, was piping hot when we picked it up, a respectable amount of meat and extra cheese as ordered--very good. My husband ordered the Curry Goat. It was excellent. Tender pieces of goat (on the bone, think small little riblets) with a flavorful yet not too spicy curry sauce, rice and bean mix and excellent fried cabbage.The ratio of beans to rice was a tad low, but still very good. It is an unassuming storefront among row homes, neighbors hanging out on stoops and such were friendly and welcoming. We will be back!

During my visit, I saw a meat department employee wearing his store smock go directly into the restroom. From a hygiene and food safety standpoint, that's very concerning. I brought it to the manager's attention, and while he said he would "say something," there didn't appear to be any follow-through. The employee came back out still wearing the same smock, and nothing seemed to change. What makes this worse is that this isn't the first time I've mentioned it. When customers take the time to raise legitimate concerns--especially involving food handling and cleanliness--it should be taken seriously and addressed immediately. On a personal level, situations like this are stressful, especially for those of us who are mindful of health concerns. You expect a certain standard when shopping for food, and right now, that confidence just isn't there. For a store that promotes itself as high-quality, I expect better hygiene practices, better management response, and better accountability.

Sort of a small recreation of the Italian Market delis in Phila, but 18 miles away in Media. Work late? Too busy to food shop? Step inside this small space and peruse their refrigerator and freezer for some delicious food. What got me inside this marvel of space utilization was the aroma of Veal Parmigiana emanating from the outside seating of the Starbucks patio. Then I realized there was another store just opened behind it. Part of the former service station is now the kitchen, and the small store with the freezers occupies the rest. Yes, the BP gas pumps are still there so you can do both, get gas and dinner for the evening. Nothing is commercial; every dish is made inside the premises. The plates are then conveniently placed along with side dishes in a microwaveable plastic container and with frozen or maintained refrigerated for easy reheating. Food selections are primarily Italian. Pork Culet Parmigiana, Pork Scallopini, Meat Loaf, and other dishes, along with their side dishes, are in the cabinets. They also have an exquisite pork shoulder over pasta dish. Their selections are almost all about $8.00 to $8.5o for a complete meal. At those prices, who wants to cook?

As I'm pumping, there's one of those scrolling advertisements, this time for Lilly Orlando. How clever, I thought, that they are selling that space to another local business. Wait. I looked more carefully at the tiny pre-war station itself. Then it dawned on me. The gas station WAS Lilly Orlando. Oh. Huh? Pop on Yelp, my fellow yelpers give it two thumbs up. OK. What the heck. It was this or KFC anyway and I rather like this entrepreneurial spirit. Basically, the restauranteurs converted the gas station space into a working kitchen, with all food prepared on site. There are both fresh refrigerated entrees and frozen entrees. We picked up a shrimp scampi, two chicken cordon bleu meals, and two chicken parmesan meals. We picked up 'fresh' vs. frozen so they could be eaten that day easily. Brought them home, zapped each one in the microwave for 4 minutes, and served. Everything was pretty darn good, really, restaurant quality. The servings are generous, easily making 2 meals out of each. Meals were packaged well, with separate compartments for sides. Chicken parmesan was delicious, over angel hair pasta, not dry, perfectly breaded. Chicken Cordon Bleu also quite yummy, prepared as a true roulade, green beans and mashed potatoes served with it were outstanding, only slightly soft spot was the cheese sauce which didn't reheat well. Shrimp scampi was inhaled. Everything got big thumbs up and two requests to 'go there again, Mom!" I can't say it's the best takeout we've ever had, however by a country mile it's the very best gas station food we've ever tasted, and I'm including you in there, WaWa. Not going to dance around this…read more My personal experience has been, many Black Americans in the Philly area do not like Asian Americans and have no problems showing it. Young black worker roaming aisles was greeting everyone, 'Just let me know if you need anything" and trying to be helpful. This was like 4-5 times I witnessed this. But to me, nothing. No greeting. Not a word. I stood in an aisle specifically looking for something, and she was in that aisle too, standing next to me, looking at the same shelving too, but nothing, nothing, nothing. If I were the manager, I would fire her. But then again, I didn't see too many Asian-Am faces among the customers so as long as most of the customers are white, it should be ok, at least from a purely financial perspective. The Southeast Asian / Indian-American checkout clerk who helped me was very friendly and courteous. The store was not stocked much differently from Wayne / Gateway Shopping Center. And it was less crowded (but this store is new) and aisles were a little wider, I think. This is still PA so, of course, no alcohol. Don't think I am returning. Wayne or KOP locations, I don't remember being treated like this. There is a new TJ's also in Exton, in same mall as Kohls' and Hobby Lobby.
