Ted is the type of quality person we all wish there were more of in the world. I actually ended up fixing my shower handle on my own, with a little encouragement and pointing to the right stores for the parts. Ted could have come out and charged me for the same job, but chose to be a good neighbor instead (as it was a small remedial job anyway). Be Warned!!! I regret not looking up his review on Yelp from the get go. I hired Ted in October 2022. He quoted good prices for recessed light installation and smooth ceiling finish, prime, and paint, drywall and crack repair, but it has been chaotic since first day. He did not show up on time at 9am. He didn't start working until 12pm but left for lunch after an hour. The plan was to work on removing popcorn and mudding the ceiling. His mud guy didn't show up, so he switched to do recessed light installation first on the spot so I ended up have to pay 15% supplies pick up fee, HD is like 10 mins away. But there s other annoying things happenings like he quoted dimmable switch at $50, then I challenge him the price at HD is only $30 (plus 15% on top), he changed the price back accordingly. This led me to check on invoice that I have paid in October, and found out he charged me for Rotex wire twice and also over purchase dimmable light. He said he will refund. Then the next day he sent e-mail asking me to pay for $350 since he finished installing the recessed light and that his phone got cut off, only data is working, he needs the money. So I paid him the difference around $144.15 and he got upset. He expect to received $350 (while he hasn't issue me the refund and the smooth ceiling project is on stalled). Then he issue the payment receipt of $144.xx on a new invoice rather than apply it on the existing invoice. I didn't catch it then. Next day he came back to fix drywall but he asked to use our tape and mud supplies. Many times he came in unprepared...either he has to go to HD to buy something or he has to go back to get tools. And he didn't fix small crack in the dining room. Then I cancel attic wall opening work and another light switching work, he got upset and told me over the phone that since there is nothing for him to do he is going to get his tools and leave. Then I went to check the work next day, the ceiling was half sanding and the small crack wasn't patch. Then I waited a week for new mud quote which came out at a much higher price. And he said he doesn't have skimming coat experience. Ceiling project pretty much got stalled. Anyway, Ted offer to let him do skimming himself at no charge if it doesn't come out right, he planned to back roll the primer. I decided to give him a try. At the same time once he knows I am working on attic installation project, he is offering his service to do the work and that he got a guys to help but he also let me know that never done it before. Unbelievable, he can't even finish any pending work without problem; yet just want to get more job to earn revenue. On November 27, He came (late again) in with green ultralight weight joint compound with his girl friend, Christine. Then he didn't bring battery for his tool. Not sure why he need to use any tool with battery for mudding prime and paint ceiling. Christine asked me if I can go borrow from neighbor. So I ended up just had to cancel the skimming coat, prime, and paint. Obviously he has no experience and still come in unprepared, no improvement on the preparation. I didn't want to risk my ceiling come out wrong. Anyway, Ted went to finish sanding the drywall then he did it too hard and he had to mud again (waste more time because mud takes 4 hours to dry before it can be sand) then he went mudding the small crack without putting tape on (he forgot to do it again and I have to go remind him). I also learned that he removed the payment record on the invoice that I paid on 10/16 to make it seems that I never paid. Invoice was paid in October 16 but when I requested for a copy, it shows November 27, 2022 instead (And he told Christine that I didn't pay the invoice $660). When we trying to figure out the final balance, once he hear that he has to credit me, he said he doesn't owe me and start cussing and I knew right away he won't come back to finish the sanding on the two repair ceiling areas. He left. Then I called Ted multiple time and emailed to sort it out. He won't pick up or response except once or twice accusing me of altering his invoice and that I owe him. He also remove the credit that he overcharged me off the invoice because I later on 11/28. he left a mess in my living room, he didn't clean up the floor on 11/27 (see photo), and he didn't tape the crack ceiling so the crack line still see through (see photo) and the drywall repair still not sanding (see photo). In any case, he should settle professionally, instead of just disappeared, not responding, and cussing. He is not professional, not punctual, unreliable, and emotionally unstable. He should not offer and accept work he has no experience and not possess proficient knowledge about the work and causing me to rely on his service. read more

However, when a company is easy to communicate with, until the day of the scheduled work, then they go "Communication Dead", I must warn others. Ted has an Amazing website and looks good on paper. Our shower doors were scheduled for Saturday morning at 10:00. I paid his requested $290.00 Deposit, but Saturday morning he was a NO SHOW and did not respond to repeated texts or voicemails. Our washing machine was backed up so we called Ted to see what he can do. Ted came out with a 25 ft auger to snake it but it did not work. He suggested to get a plumber out to do the job instead because it would cost the same and the cost for him to purchase a longer auger would be the same. Ted did not want to charge for the work he's already done because he felt that he did not accomplish the work. I will be reaching out to Ted for future needs because of his honesty and integrity. I paid him a deposit of $700 and he then told me he was not able to do the job. I asked him to return my deposit back and he refused. He does not respond to texts. Hate writing negative reviews but Ted is very unprofessional and unresponsive once he starts the job. I had him installing a gate motor and it was one of the worse service I paid for, everything he did, as far as programming and installing was off. I had to rehire another professional to finish his job.
