we have been dealing with teddy bear pools for over20 yrs. I cannot say enough good things about them . They installed 2 liners for a 18x36 inground pool and a saftey cover. We buy all our products there and I always helpful and polite. We had to use their service for our bot and they explained everything and were reasonable. Maybe we go in with a good attitude and get treated well. Don't assume somebody is not busy . I will and do recommend Teddy Bear 100%. At this point if I could give Teddy Bear 0 stars I would. My family has owned a spa we purchased from Teddy Bear for several years. It has always been difficult to get a hold of them to set up any service for our spa. Usually the process involves calling, leaving a message for spa service, waiting the required 48 hours for someone to call back (which they don't) and then calling back and finally getting someone. On October 28th of this year I called and left a message regarding winterizing our spa. I still had not heard back from Teddy Bear by November 4th. I called them this morning and and pressed 0 for the general number, the woman who answered did not listen to me, when I tried to explain what was happening, she abruptly sent my call to the spa service voicemail. I called back and a very nice man David C. answered, he tried to help me and called the spa service center directly, he then called me back and told me that spa service would call me back in a few minutes. I waited 20 minutes, and called back, got another woman who told me everyone was in a meeting and they would call me later and hung up on me. I called back again, I was really upset at this time, and the woman who answered claimed I was screaming at her, I wasn't I was weeping with frustration. I asked to speak with the manager and the woman who answered the phone told me she was in a meeting and could not be interrupted. She then hung up on me. I called again and they would not answer the phone. After trying several times, I called from my office phone, SURPRISE someone answered! Still upset and angry I asked to speak with David again, after SEVERAL minutes and much mumbling on their end of the phone they finally found him. He apologized for not knowing spa service was in a meeting and wouldn't call back when he initially stated they would. However he could not tell me when they would call. It has been 2 hours since I last spoke with them and NO ONE from Teddy Bear has called or written me in response to my issue. The behavior and actions of the staff members at Teddy Bear with the exception of David C. were unkind, unhelpful and most of all unprofessional. I once worked retail at a independent business with multiple locations and our motto was the customer was always right. This is clearly not the motto with Teddy Bear. I can assure you, as well, that if a customer was upset and asked to speak with a manager, either the floor manager, the operations manager or one of the owners was found and responded to the customer immediately. As I was writing this review the Operations Manager called (2 hours and 45 minutes after my last call) and I told him this story and stated that I expected an apology for the way I have been treated. His exact words were "No one's going to apologize to you". He went on to state that clearly my call was not an emergency and if service had not called me back it was because the spa manager was busy servicing spas. I asked to speak with the owner and was told he no longer manages day to day operations. The manager said if I was so unhappy with Teddy Bear's service I should try to find someone else to care for my spa. STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY FROM TEDDY BEAR IF YOU WANT TO BE TREATED WITH RESPECT, KINDNESS AND PROFESSIONALISM. Perhaps it is telling that the reviews here are dated. Here's our story: We bought a house with a pool. We had no idea how to care for it and called Teddy Bear. They came out and gave us a once through. We used them to close that year and open the next. The opening was sloppy with things tossed around the yard, but I hadn't been home so I talked to Teddy, texted him pics, and let it go. Last fall they came and closed the pool. Again things were strewn about, but this time they were all on the deck, so some improvement. Unbeknownst to us, Teddy Bear technicians had broken the pipe that goes from the filter to the pool. I don't know what that's called, a return maybe? Anyway, this spring we tried to fill the pool per their instructions. I had noted that it should take a couple of hours. We ran a steady, very strong steam for 4 hours and the water level barely moved. I did this for three days. The opening team said they can't test anything bc we didn't fill the pool. I continued to fill and continue and then some more. The water level wasn't moving. Perplexed, I begin walking around the pool looking for the culprit when I see a steady stream of water flowing from under the deck. I turned off the water and climb under. The pipe that used to go from the filter back into the pool was destroyed. When we contacted Teddy Bear they said it wasn't their fault. Then, they said the winterizing plug would have prevented the fill problem. Lastly, Mario said the pipe froze. To that I respond: had the techs been paying attention they'd have seen the problem. Plugging the basket had no effect when the 'return' was acting like a bathtub overflow. And an open pipe with no water in it and buried does not freeze. Mario was rude and hung up on us when my wife was trying to explain all the factors that make it clear this happened when they closed the pool last year. Update: Upon learning of our experience Ted called and scheduled a visit to our home. He came out, assessed the issues, and after explaining way more about chemicals and the history of Teddy Bear Pools than we needed to know, he fully resolved the entire problem. Ted is a talker and a salesman to the core. He ensured we were happy with the end result and even called the next day to see if we had any questions or concerns we had not addressed. We used Teddy Bear for opening and closing our in ground pool every year. We shopped there for pool supplies and chemicals. They were always on the pricey side, but they did a good job. In 2022, we scheduled our opening for late April. We ended up selling our home and buying a new home that also had an in-ground pool. We assumed, wrongly, that they could just open our new pool. I had tried called 3 times, no one ever answered. Eventually when someone did answer, they refused to switch the address then proceeded to bill us $75 for canceling an opening within 3 days of the scheduled opening. This just sits wrong with me. The technicians do a good job, the supplies and chemicals are of good quality, but their customer service just doesn't cut it for me. read more

it absolutely stinks that these guys are the only game in town. they sell you a pool and then wipe their hands of you. I bought a pool from them a couple years ago and they NEVER answer their phone, no matter what extension you call. Every time I'm in the store, there are a countless number of people just standing around. I have to fill out a contact us form on their website and then no call, just a response back that in no way, shape, or form answers my questions. The owner comes out and shakes your hand after you buy a aool and says that we are now family. Well, my family answers the phone when I call. This company isn't even bush league status. They may be good at installations and product, even if they are a bit overpriced. But if you're expecting any kind of prompt or kind service after installation, I suggest you find another company to handle this. I had an issue with a leak in my winter cover. I asked the installers at opening AND closing if the cover was still ok. They both said yes. Well, it hasn't rained in Western Mass in 2 months and part of my pool cover is filled with water and the water beneath the cover is way down. Doesn't take much to get from A to B there. My wife called last week and spoke with Chuck who was very condescending to her and basically said that his cover had water on it, so ours is just fine. As if to say his pool is emblematic of every pool in the area. I tried calling Chuck back 4 times since with no response. So I drove to the store today and spoke with a lovely lady at the front desk who directed me to a guy at the parts counter named Brian who basically said that I should just drain the water from the cover back in the pool which, in my mind, is like drilling a second hole in a boat floor to drain the water from the other hole. He couldn't have been less helpful, less caring about the issue or less personable. As someone in sales, I know service is your #1 asset and it amazes me that Teddy Bear came so highly recommended to us only to experience this kind of treatment on the back end. It's disappoiting because up until now, all of our experiences have been great. From the opening and closer installers to the water testers. However, if you have ANY issues with your pool that might require them to repair or replace, my advice would be to have another company on had to do that work because they have no interest in doing so unless you are purchasing something from them then not expecting them to do the work. read more

We had issues throughout the entire process in all areas -including design, construction, equipment and startup ( location of equipment, wrong equipment delivered, pool loosing water after startup). Communications were challenging, and they failed to listen to our concerns or take them seriously. At times, members of their team spoke to us very unprofessionally and downright nasty. I used Teddy Bear Pools and Spas to close my pool. The technician broke off an old screw to the skimmer broke off which is causing the skimmer to now leak. He said that I would need a new skimmer next spring because of the leak. The technician said that the water will leak out below the skimmer and stop. I was charged for an ice plate that he put on so that the water wouldn't leak. He also told me that if the screws were new one wouldn't have broken off. To top it off, when they came to collect payment, the technician told me I had nothing to worry about. I paid the check then went to the back to make sure everything looked okay. I immediately saw that the cover they put on had a hole in it. This is not acceptable and definitely is not going to protect the pool for the winter. This is deceptive to me since Aluminum is light and the description was plural leading me to think the quantity was about a dozen. Don't be deceived like I was. The employee told me what they would need from me in order for a successful pool closing, what time they'd arrive, and how much it would cost. I hired Teddy Bear pools to replace my damaged above ground pool, hook up the filter and water heater. They installed the pool but hooked up my filter incorrectly. I called them, had them come back, and my system is still not hooked up. I paid for the pool to be filled and the water is now green and the pool still unusable. No follow up phone call from them to explain the situation. I went to Teddy Bear Pools because I thought they were reputable. As a child, my family purchased our pool from there and we were very pleased with the quality of their pools and service. That seems to be a thing of the past. Some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced, especially after the thousands of dollars I'm spending to replace the pool. Shame on Teddy Bear Pools. I ordered a spa tub, they gave me a window of time it would be delivered, and they never showed up! They also never called to tell me they wouldn't be coming or would be running late! The gentleman he spoke to was very rude and proceeded to say that they do not repair pools unless it was installed by teddy bear pools. We payed well over 460.00 for the ladder and the person that took care of the transaction told us that we could not get are full return because it was open and the ladder was used. The service at Teddy Bear Pools is absolutely awful. Do not purchase anything from them that could require maintenance down the road. I purchased a large 7+ person spa from them and had it installed. All went pretty well. Couple things here and there they had to come back to do with the install but overall I would give the install about a 3star rating. Now, it's years later and it's winter season and I have a pump die on the spa. It takes 2 months of calling them and leaving messages for someone to finally call me back and come and "fix" the tub. The come put the new pump in and start it up. They leave and say everything is good. Now I have a leak in the tub. Never had one before. Must have developed a leak waiting for them to come fix the pump. The heater doesn't work when the pump doesn't work. I ask them to come look at the spa and access the leak. They tell me it's to cold out to drain the tub and blow it out and call them back in the Spring. I've now been calling them for 6 months and leaving regular VM and they finally call me back. Now they really aren't interested in helping to fix it. It's a hard location and they don't want to do on site. Won't help me work with a crane company. They left it with me to find a crane and get the tub to them. This is not how you do business. You do not want to have to do business with them. They are selling expensive items and you are going to need the expertise of whoever you buy them from. Do not trust Teddy Bear Pools. read more

Purchased a pool from Teddy Bear Pools 20 years ago. They also replaced a liner and a heater for me. On Sept. 1 2020, I called for service because my 4 year old replacement heater was leaking. I received a call back that day and told that someone would be at my house that same week or the following week. On Friday of the following week, I had to call again and leave a message on the service line because they were a no show. The service department recording promised a 24-48 response. No response received. Three weeks later and after my first phone call, I find myself still with no service. Surprisingly, a person did finally call to say they won't be able to do the job and had excuses of busy, injuries and sickness. Fall time is when you need a pool heater and now I want to close up my pool. Wasted my time and stuck looking for someone else for the repair. Think about that when you're looking to buy a pool. Service is a big part of it and Teddy Bear Pools fails miserably. read more

Drive here on a gorgeous day for a couple of parts. From the time I walked in, I was never greeted. The cashier in the front near the entrance had her head buried in the computer. The staff by water testing weren't able to give me a price on something & stayed I'd have to check with the cashier... I asked the cashier thinking that she'd know stock items. I was wrong & should have brought the chemicals with me to the cashier. I actually felt like I was putting the cashier out with a price check, hence the two stars for customer service. read more

Okay, I'm a fair bit less enthusiastic than I had been. Twice during pool openings there was leaf litter on the tarp, and they dumped it right in - left for us to clean out. Yes, we could have made it cleaner, but they could have tried, and didn't. I saw them actually do it in front of me the second time and dropped my dentures right into the pool (figuratively). Then the heater - multiple visits to repair, and they swear it works, and it so completely doesn't. They're nice. The store is really good. We purchased a $9000 2018 Hot Springs hot tub (which was on sale) from them in February with delivery set for May, 2019. When the tub was delivered, it was immediately clear that this place is a hot mess. They didn't bring us the right chemicals for the thing. They didn't show us how to use the chemicals. They basically said nothing. They left us with a filthy hot tub that we had to drain a few weeks later because of the lack of chemicals and how dirty it was when it arrived. Then I realized that there was a crack in the shell of the tub. We called the business and they actually said the entire thing needed to be replaced. They said to use the tub we had and they would let us know when the new tub would be installed. A few weeks later, the heat censor on the tub went. We couldn't use it and had to wait for someone to come up and repair it. They came and fixed it. Then we heard nothing for several months. Our messages went unreturned. We couldn't get anyone on the phone. Finally someone calls us and says that the new tub is in and they want to deliver it on Monday (it was Friday). We have to take time off work for them to come and that wasn't possible. They said we didn't have to be home for them to deliver. That wasn't going to happen given that they had already brought us a defective tub the first time. When they came to deliver the tub at a time that was convenient for us, once again, the tub was busted. The side panel has a hole in it. They again said they would come fix it. That was about six weeks ago and no word yet. A few weeks after this tub arrived, the water got disgusting and it was determined that they had failed to install the oxyidizer or some shit. I don't know what it is. So they had to come back out again to fix that. This company is the worst. If you read this and you still buy something from them, then that's on you. Heed my warning. This place is HORRIBLE. read more

Absolute horrible service and overpriced., I had TB pool open my pool this spring (about $275) and two guys came out. One did an absolutely horrible job "cleaning" the cover (he sprayed it off with my water hose), so I had to unroll it and clean it all myself after they left because it was covered with flower pedals and grass and other junk from winter that I wasn't about to put away to get moldy and gross in my basement.. The other guy tightened everything to the point I couldn't shut the valves when necessary in order to perform weekly cleaning. He also somehow got pebble stones from the surrounding pool area INTO the secondary filter, risking ruining the pool pump. I called to complain to the owner and never received a return call. I let it pass and chalked it up to a one-off bad job, though I would have thought my phone call would have been returned. When they came to close the pool, it was the same two men. When I mentioned that they didn't do a great job opening the pool and told the guy about the pebbles, he denied it was him and asked, "do you have children?" Implying perhaps it was someone else. I said yes, I have two children, 22 and 26 and they never go in the pool, and that I had found the pebbles just after he left when I went to check on the pool filter. For the fall closing, I just left a check for $279.32 to close the pool with a note that asked them to blow up the pillow, take out the stairs and put the equipment over by the bulkhead on the other side of the pool (I had called ahead to make sure this was okay to ask for). Instead, I just found all the equipment in a jumble all around where they took it apart and not placed where I had asked, meaning I now have to drag it all over to the bulkhead. And the note was crumpled up and left with all the equipment. I left another message for the owner and it's been hours and still no call back. I'm tempted to put a stop payment on the check just to force someone to call me, but honestly don't want to spend another $30 fee to do that. Instead, I will be broadcasting my experiences with this bad business and making sure people avoid them at all costs! read more

Business is going so well for these folks the phone rings at their Chicopee office for ever and ever at 1:15pm on a Tuesday. As it turns out "Ray" doesn't take on new clients, so if you own a spa that they didn't sell you, you can offer to pay them all you want, they won't take your business. Hopefully they continue to do well financially so that they don't have to take on new clients with pesky offers of paying them to come over and get a spa up running. Sold us a hot tub and didn't mention the Ace salt water cell only has a one year warranty. It's failed and it costs just about $1,000 to replace the cell for the salt water system. Stay away from the ace system. Google Ace Salt Water cell failure and you'll find a lot of articles on the net. Read up before buying this system. read more

Bought our pool in July 2018 with installation in Oct. 2018. The install was great, the guys who closed the pool put the cover on inside out, didn't secure the balloons properly to the cover, due to the rains we had my cover ripped. Now I have to buy a new pool cover as well. I called to have them open the pool up and teach me about the filter. They came on a Monday and told me they couldn't uncover the pool because of water on the cover. So I took the water off and they showed up on Friday (no phone call nothing) jumped my fence into the back yard and uncovered the pool. I didn't have enough water in the pool for the filter to be set up, but called the salesman on Sat. morning and he told me to fill the pool up and he was confident that they would be out again to set up the filter. I called Ted H. and never got a response from him. I left Jim in new pool installation several voice mails and I haven't heard a word back from him. and the salesman told me today that I should bring a sample of water down to be tested to be sure everything is good. I don't understand what that has to do with the fact that my filter still isn't up and running. Any way we have spoken to a former employee of this company and he gave us the name and # of someone who is willing to come out and hook up our filter for us and show me what to do for the rest of the summer. Of course it is going to cost money, something that was suppose to be included in the price of the pool, But live and learn. I will never ever go to this company for anything, As a matter of fact I am going to mail back my $50.00 in Teddy Bucks to Mr. Hebert. Totally fed up and disgusted.
