Read the two positive reviews. Notice how canned they are? Notice how they could have been written by the same person? Notice how they each address issues that Cat K.'s review revealed? Cat K.'s review is spot on and much like my experiences through three orders with Ted. But I got more to say about these cretins at Ted who act more flaky than an Elementary School Weed Dealers. They have NEVER sent an e-mail informing me that my purchases we being shipped. And it has left me in dark each order. Back when the amount you needed to spend for free shipping was $179, I tallied up what was in my cart correctly and had $181. I placed the order. Got the instantaneous confirmation email which always states they will send me an email when my items ship. A week later, no shipped notice and I noticed their charge on my bank account was $204(shipping was $28 back the, I believe. I didn't check when I ordered because I intended to go for the free shipping). I sent them an email inquiring. No answer for 3 days so I called them. No answer on the phone. I tried again later. No answer. The next day I called early and got a lady who said their system was down due to a power outage and she would look into my order and get back with me as soon as she could. Two days later and no call back so I called again because on my account info order page it said processing. Were up to 12 days now and I had run out of tobacco so had to make a special trip(over 20 miles north of me one way) and I bought enough to get me by for a week. It wasn't enough. By the time I got through again the same lady gave me a story about how my order was waiting to be shipped for one of my many bags of tobacco to show up and should go out in a day or two. Also, I needed to resubmit my picture of my licence because the first one got misplaced during the power outage but the good news was one of my items went on sale and she would credit me for that on this order. I didn't think she would charge me for shipping because of that til the next day when I called to confirm she got my second sending of my license but it would take a day to process and besides they were still waiting on the out of stock item. I said can you cancel the first order and rewrite the new order without that item. Yes but we will have to refund your money as it can't be applied to the next order. I said, "Do it". She said she could cancel the first order but i would have to go to the website and reorder. I did that and made sure to double up on another item that was in stock to get the free shipping forgetting about the item on sale. Once again that item took me under the $179 limit and I got charged for shipping again because a "sale" item took my total under the free shipping mark. I could tell, like we always can, this lady was a liar and not a good one at that but with them sitting on my money and already 2 weeks gone by I wouldn't make a stink, yet. My layout for the first order took 10 days to be put back into my account but it was $5 less than what they took and I noticed I was charged for shipping again on the second order. It was 24 days from when I placed my original order before I got my tobacco, a machine, tubes and papers. One of the pounders was punctured and sure enough the tobacco was bone dry. These splinkter voids are lazy, they lie, they nickel and dime you for extra profit and they are total flakes about conducting business professionally. They don't give a rat's tucas about their customers cuz they deal in an addictive drug. Second order months later and I kept it down to just a 5 pounder and two 1 pounders and paid their high shipping and handling. It arrived a week later but the big bag had holes in it and the areas around the hole was just beginning to go dry, like the holes were new, freshly done. One hole was a slice/stab sorta like a knife blade did it. Definitely NOT a tool mark from processing. 3rd order, 15 days after ordering. Day 10 the site said, "processing". I sent an email. 2 days later a short response. They had shipped it but it was returned to them due to insufficient address, waiting to hear from me fopr correct addy before sending. I looked at my account and nothing had changed but now the order page said "Complete". No tracking number was provided for me to check on their lies I'm friends with the UPS driver and he's brought my packages when you could decipher my name only. Once again I smell fricken lies from these flaky, thoughtless, inconsiderate, backwards ass residents of the bowels of Louisiana, banjo playing, river dwelling miscreants who I can picture in the back office yelling, "SQEEEEEEL" at their sibling while orders pile up on the inbox, spilling over onto the 1950's greasy, torn cornered and urine crusted vinyl tiles cuz it doubles as the lavatory. Ordered 10 tins of Dunhill pipe tobacco from www.tedtobacco.com which surprised me considering the blend I got is out of stock at all the big tobacco sites. Service was outstanding. I ordered in the early morning and received an email by that afternoon that it was being processed for shipping. Arrived a day early although that could be attributed to ups. All in all a great experience from what appears to be a great company that I can use going forward to find the hidden gems that others can't get. Thanks guys! read more

I've ordered from TED Tobacco at least 10 times and have always had great experiences with them. Only once did they email me to say that what I ordered was out of stock, and they made a recommendation on what to get in its place. The recommendation wasn't bad either. Shipping is as expected, pricing is very competitive. The website itself is functional but not the best in the world. I've noticed that often when I order large quantities they'll put a small perk in like a couple of lighters or an extra carton of tubes (but not always). My only complaint is that they aren't very responsive via email hence the 4 stars. I asked about a line of products and got no response. AVOID this company at all costs people! After 3 prior orders sat unshipped until you hound them about where your order is, yet they charge your card in full immediately. Last order was placed for in stock product and once again charged in full and nothing shipped. Called a week later and was told the in stock product was all not actually in stock and they would ship whenever they received all items on the order in stock, but they charged my card in full for items they didn't have. Per their website any backordered items can be cancelled without penalty, so I asked them to cancel the back orders holding up the shipment...nope, said they couldn't do that and claimed their system isn't capable of cancelling back orders. They suggested that they can cancel my original order for full refund and that I place a new order for the items they did have in stock to ship. So we did this, and so now I'm charged twice. As of today, the original order that was to be cancelled and be refunded immediately is still showing open in their system and no credit was issued as promised. They're awful in responding to emails and you get the runaround and a bunch of BS when you call. Like I said, all 3 prior orders were delayed without explanation and took several phone calls/emails to get them to ship the product. Their website says they ship in stock orders next business day...don't believe it for a second, every order I placed sat for a week or more without shipping, until I called and emailed them repeatedly. I emailed them yesterday stating my cancelled order had better show cancelled and refunded in full in their system by today...absolutely zero response from them. My original order of over $200 is still not cancelled and refunded. This last order was my very last with this company! PERIOD! read more

I ordered 2 lbs of pipe tobacco and 6 cartons of tubes on Monday, then received an email saying they would ship by the end of the week or to change to a different brand to ship today. the email said do nothing to keep the order as is or reply to "upgrade" so i chose to do nothing as i didn't mind waiting 1 week to ship. On Friday i called to ask if it has shipped as their site still showed processing. I was told it had shipped but the website would not show any change until they closed it out. Next money rolled around and i received a call from a guy i'm pretty sure was the same person stating they were out of one of the tobacco bags i purchased and they could change it out to another brand to ship today. I explained the email i received and that i had called and was told it already shipped. He played dumb and acted as he didn't know why even though i'm 99% sure it was the same guy i had spoken to. I told him to go ahead and ship me what he had instead of waiting for my brand. Another week went by until they actually shipped anything. I will never purchase anything from this store, and very much recommend no one else does. After telling my mother how horrible the service here is, she informed me she deals with it every single order. She orders every month as they do have very low prices and she is on an extreme budget. Pay the extra couple of dollars and buy from a company that has their heads out of their tails. read more
