Geoffrey is a great tech- very helpful. Chris, the owner has refused to do anything about a phone I paid for (was in California when my cell crashed. I bought phone from Chris and paid him for overnight shipping. Phone did not arrive because it was held in customs. Chris said he would track it down, Geoffrey took over and I never received the phone, or the $800 I transfered to Chris) Geoffrey managed to transfer my data off of my old phone to new phone ($2200 s25 ultra) that I purchased from Techrx. I have sent many employees to Techrx and purchased phones, replacement screens, repairs etc and Chris proved horrible customer service. My advice is to go somewhere else. I went into store this morning wanting to figure out how to delete files as my memory is done and wondered my options. The young man gave me some good tips and was very patient and took his time to explain. I decided to go with deleting files myself and buying an external hard drive. He told me what to look for and when I asked if Staples down the way sells them he said yes. I finished by buying a new dual port fast charger and a 6' high speed braided cable for my iphone. ScamRX - Brought in an Ipad for bent pins to the USBC. Explained that to the fellow at the counter. My experience they will quote you, charge you, call you to tell you the quote is 3x more. Then tell you that they had to diagnose (to find the same issue you told them was the issue). They will then ask to be paid for their time without asking or advising that they are going to do this. In my case they then said the new Ipad is garbage if not fixed but they would offer to buy it off me. I told them not interested in selling it, just want it fixed but not paying 3x the quote so no thanks. -They they say you need to pay for their time. How long does it take to tell that the issue is not a plug stuck in the charger port (as some how misunderstood by their intake staff. .(if its more than 3 seconds then your in the wrong business. Can you Imagine going to a Tire repair shop to get a quote on a new tire , receive a quote, and then having them say, the tire replacement is now 3x and because we had make sure you need a new tire pay us $50... that is what these guys do. Only after calling them out on their B.S - The manager says he is going to review the store footage, basically suggesting i'm lying. Not how to do business! Try calling first if your having to start "initial investigation" because your employee miss understood what the obvious issue was! read more

I phoned techrx up this morning and got a quote or $170 for a screen for a iPhone xr. I am sick and can't go myself and my father-in-law lives close to techrx. My father in-law went in and dropped the phone off and said that he was dropping a phone off for me and had been quoted 170 for screen replacement. When he picked up the phone the bill was 257 including tax. When I phoned them back they said they had 3 levels of quality of screen- that wasn't told to me on the original phone call. They had just stalled their 'good quality oem screen'. I complained ha d he said he usually quotes 3 different levels of screen. He definitely didn't with me this morning. I would have waited and gone to my usual guy in vancouver if I had been quoted such a steep price. This seemed steep so I phoned the regular place I usually go in Vamcouver and have gone for 4 years with very good work and good quality screens. He said an oem screen would have been 140 from him and this is the best quality. I am really not happy with the misleading marketing. The excuse was Apple charges more. That is like saying the Mercedes dealership charges more than a regular mechanic. Blindly obvious. That's why people go after market. An Apple oem screen replacement is $259! Amd I got charged 257 for aftermarket screen. That price is ridiculous. read more

Scammers! I bought a new phone battery from them. They gave me the option to buy a $40 battery or pay 2x for a battery with lifetime guarantee. I paid the extra for lifetime guarantee. Fast forward 2 years when my battery isn't holding a charge again so I went in to get a new one with my "lifetime guarantee". They tell me I'd have to just buy a new battery again because the "lifetime guarantee" just covers battery damage, not expected degradation due to age. So what's the point of me paying for a lifetime guarantee ???? Don't fall for this scam. Get your phone fixed elsewhere where they don't lie to the customers to make a few extra bucks. read more

I truthfully can't even give them a rating - generally had not bad service but the last time I took my lap top in I lost 6 days of work and ended up having to get a new lap top. Overall a bad experience - especially this last time - and when staff make negative comments about your business that truly shows the disappointing level of customer service. Time to move on as there are much better computer technicians in South Surrey. Just a bad dream!!!!! read more

Had an iPhone 5s screen replaced here yesterday. i wasn't about to trust some random guy on Craigslist to fix a $300 phone properly, after hearing some horror stories about friends' iPod repairs. I was really impressed with the store itself - this is no pop-up shop - and their turnaround time of 15 minutes on a glass replacement. They say they use factory Apple glass, and the screen replacement they did worked great. read more

WOW to SOUTH SURREY Tech Rx location!! We are blown away by this unique and amazing find! We upgraded our ipad & cell phone (buying used for a smidgeon of the price of new) and everything was transferred over flawlessly in a heartbeat. Then the real machine got running - the OUTSTANDING TECHS that totally took care of us by patiently walking us through each step with our new devices. Nothing was too much trouble for them - they handled each question with care, calm, competence & innovative abilities to problem solve any presenting issues, both the day we bought and a couple of visits afterwards. Chris, Mark and the other Chris are all extraordinary techs and just really great people too. It's SO WONDERFUL to have this type of service and product options available so close to home in White Rock. We will no doubt, always buy our future devices and tap into the really wonderful service these guys bring to the table (a freshly cleaned table with plexi glass in front and their masks on, of course). This store is very welcoming. However the employees are not only uneducated on the issues they are paid to fix they are so social unaware it astonishes me. The surfer looking boy at the front counter charged this lady's phone to 10% and gave it back to her WHEN THE PROBLEM WAS THE BATTERY LIFE then the freakishly long haired obese tarazan lookalike was so close to me when I was choosing a phone case he was breathing on my neck. No exaggeration here I felt the condensation on my neck once I was finally able to snake away. He asked if I needed help and even though I did i said no because of how incredibly uncomfortable this neck-bearded boy made me feel. The BOYS here need a lesson or two about more than just technology, I will not be back from this interaction. read more

I live in Victoria and dropped by while in White Rock on business to get my cell phone unlocked. They took my money, couldn't unlock it, and now they expect me to take a ferry back to the mainland to get a refund. The owner wouldn't even speak to me, but made his staff deliver the news that there was no way to give a refund or credit unless I came back to the shop. If I knew the refund policy in advance, or even that there was a chance that they couldn't unlock the phone, I wouldn't have ever given them my business. POOR customer service. read more

Found TechRX through a Google search for iPhone 5S (yes, my cheap soul won't upgrade because Apple hasn't shown me anything worth upgrading to) battery replacement. I phoned beforehand and the person on the phone was very helpful. That experience was carried on through to the in store experience. Service was friendly and courteous. Store was nice and clean with nice product on display (wood cases, external batteries etc). They also had a row of seats if you wanted to wait it out. I had to give my unlock code, which is necessary if they run into problems (advice: you can always change your lock code after but the staff instilled a lot of confidence so I had no concerns about security). The quoted time of service was 30 minutes. I went for a coffee at a coffee shop in the area and the barista asked what I had planned for the rest of the day. I told him I was just waiting for my phone to be repaired. He said "TechRX, right?" He said he had his phone repaired their several times and staff at TechRX are great - very helpful and knowledgeable. "They not only what needed to be repaired, but why the problem was happening and how to prevent it from happening again." he said. When I came back to TechRX about 20 minutes later, my phone was ready to go. The handoff was great too. I was told that the new battery would come with about 20% charge and I should charge to 100% and let it drain to 0% to train the battery. Good sound advice. The battery comes with a 30 day warranty and I was told I could just bring it back if I had any problems. read more

Poor quality products, take it from me and go to Apple for your iPhone screen. I had a 8 month old iPhone XS that served me very well. Dropped it many times a day on my construction site and never broke. Took it in to have the screen replaced and they promised me a high quality oem screen for around $350. It slid off the couch and landed on its back while in a rubber case and the screen cracked and went black! So back I go for yet another screen and it lasted me 2 days. Keep In mind I'm currently out 700 dollars. So I finally go to Apple, their replacement screen price is about $415, the real kicker is the reman iPhone XS was $850. The Apple tech comes out and tells me they can't even get the screen off due to stripped screws and a few other damaged items inside because of tech rx's negligence. So now I'm out a $1250 top of the line iPhone that Apple can't even fix & $700 in very, VERY fragile screens. read more

NEVER COMING BACK HERE AGAIN. My mom tried to get her nexus 5x fixed and she received horrible service from these guys. Not helpful. Not friendly nor courteous. They said it was a battery issue and got her to pay to order a new battery. When the new battery came in (later than they promised), they said it is actually the motherboard and the battery. Same issue happened to my partner and the other shop he went to could check this on the spot instead of ordering a battery for no reason. The interaction she had with them was horrible. When I talked to the service guy on the phone, he didn't know much. When she asked for her money back they said they can only give part of it because of the the time they spent figuring out what's wrong and compared themselves to lawyers who charge their clients for their expertise. Other repair shops I visited did not charge the customer if they couldn't fix the phone. If you can't do your job, why should it be at the customer's cost? I also wish companies like this would recognize that customer service isn't about whether you lose money or not. There are better companies you can go to fix your phone with way better service.This place left a bad taste in my mouth and will not be recommending it to ANYONE. read more
