I've always had a fondness for this place because I pull a lot of employees from here and they…read moreoften have just enough knowledge and a little bit of experience in our industry. Now my girlfriend's daughter is going to attend (different industry) and I'm looking forward to see how she does by attending school here. The only thing is that for the smaller schools, like the one my girlfriend's daughter attends for actual high school, I wish EVIT offered some sort of shuttle service. The bigger schools have buses but the small schools don't have that luxury.

But what has been…read moreupsetting me is how EVIT doesn't understand stuff happends, like a tire popping while your driving. I am also a student who has an IEP, Autism&ADHD so i tend to forget some stuff, yet my teachers and EVIT seems to not understand or care and without warning penalize me such as (takes pts away, give saturday school,OOO out of school suspension if you dont make it exactly at 8:00 for saturday school at EVIT), WITHOUT WARNING! which hurts me as their student so i am making this review to hopefully show y'all and EVIT this is frustrating as a student and parent. None of my EVIT teachers gave me a paper about expectations everyday in class at the begin of the year, failed multiple times to explain what punishments happens to EVIT students when not in full uniform, doesn't give no info on paper to students like what is the point of my IEP if EVIT just ignores my disabilities .P.S Understand #### Happens.

I wish there was a way to expand on different ratings. Not everything is created equal, and while I…read moreadmire and appreciate the instructors, there are other factors that prevent me from giving it 5 stars. First: The instructors, which I can only speak to Mr. E. (Ernie Kornya) and briefly Mr. James at this moment, since I'm barely in Module 2. They are very knowledgeable in their craft. Mr. E. brings a wealth of information and support. He is patient and truly cares about the success and comprehension his students attain. He makes learning the difficult stuff, fun and rewarding. Ms. Dalis is such a joy to see every day. She is compassionate and tough. She cares about what she does - that much I can tell. She will fight for you as long as you are fighting for yourself. Who wouldn't want that kind of backing in your corner? Everyone I have encountered so far (staff-wise) plays a critical role in our journey, and I have zero complaints on that. 5 STARS. Second: The resources are minimal, at best. There aren't enough materials, tools, workstations to go around, and it creates a huge learning gap for those who have to be bystanders in lab. There's only so much you can do when you're grouped with 5 other students during an exercise and we're all sharing one set of tools. How can we successfully complete a circuit if there's only one person performing the surgery, while we onlookers nod our heads in synchronicity? It's a waste of time to me. Speaking of time, I have never had to follow such a strict attendance schedule at any point in my post-secondary institutions. Historically speaking, we adults are usually at the mercy of our own lecture/attendance, note-taking, content comprehension, etc. At UEI, you are not graded solely on the understanding of the content, homework, quizzes, etc. No. You are graded (heavily) on whether or not you show up at your expected time, and stay the entire duration - NO MATTER WHAT. That part is crazy to me. I don't think I'll ever understand it. Having to leave EXACTLY at 13:00 (not at 12:59) is ludicrous. We are not children. We are well past middle school. If class runs successfully until 12:50, then let's leave at 12:50. Simple. 2 STARS. Longest review I've ever made, but it's important to note these things. There's not enough time to mention everything, but I wish I knew half of my grievances up front. I probably would've went in a different direction. Regardless, while I'm here, Mr. E., thank you for showing up for us every day. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and trade secrets. Thank you for behaving like a normal human being, rather than someone who is better than us. THANK YOU, MR. E.!!!

Within 2 weeks of the first conversation with Deborah, I was enrolled (red flag) I didn't realize it then but their sales pitch was the most predatory I've ever heard. Compliments like "I can already tell you'd be good at this", "Sounds like you've got a good ear", things like that. They pushed their alumni's recording credits a lot, it was a primary reason I decided to go. One of their students helped mix a record I really love, and they preyed on that so hard. What they didn't say is that the vast majority of graduates don't wind up staying in audio long. Most of the people I went to class with are not actively working in audio, and many said that they left CRAS underprepared and miserable. Their approach is to force feed the information as quick as possible, using staff and teachers that epitomize ego and callous indifference. They do not care if you graduate. They do not care if you're struggling. They do not care about their students, period. It's a power hungry organization stuck in their old ways. They can kick you out for missing a single day of class, and thats exactly what they did to me. While some instructors were truly fantastic, for every good one there were 4 bad ones at least. And when you finally did ask for help, they'd either miss the point entirely or completely ignore you. I urge the school to be better. For all the resources you guys have, you are the furthest thing from teachers, even instructor is a compliment. I didn't walk away from CRAS with anything but massive student debt and severe depression. Kirt, Brock, and all other CRAS staff, be better.

Okay so first off, I went to WCT because it worked perfect with my work schedule, was only 4 weeks…read moreof class and 1 weeks clinicals, AND I would be done by Thanksgiving! Actually, Friday (the 13th) would have been my last day, If everything went as planned. Great right?? Well... the first week of class we found out our instructor had "Prior engagements she couldn't get out of" AKA she went on vacation. Which I get it, but they should have gotten a sub. So that set our class back a week because she was gone the first week from Thursday- the next Wednesday. So now, our clinicals would have been from the 20th-24th. Which still would have been done by Thanksgiving, however; we would have to go on a Saturday & a Sunday. Which I wouldn't mind, but it's not what I signed up for, you know? Fast forward to Tuesday, the 9th, our last week of learning, and then the next would be skills, and the next was clincals. Almost done with the class! Yay! However, we got to class and the receptionist of the school came in and told us our instructor was in the hospital. Which we were all super bummed about because she was a great teacher. I felt super selfish, but all I could think about was "How are we going to finish the class? " She is okay, something with a broken disk, I don't really know, I didn't get much information. So class was obviously cancelled Tuesday.. and I got a call later that night that Wednesday was too. I got a call Wednesday that Thursday was as well. And shocking, I know, Friday got cancelled also. All because they didn't have a back up instructor. I got the campus directors information, wrote him a very stern email, explaining my situation, and what we could do to resolve it. He then called me and said they found an instructor, but for only nights. Which clearly, I signed up for the class because it was so convenient with my schedule. He did tell me he will be giving me a full refund, which is the best thing for me at this point. All of this being said, the campus director was super nice and apologetic, but I am still super bummed about this whole situation. The school should have been way more organized. I was halfway through the class already. The only reason I even gave it a 2 star is because they gave me a refund, and Marcy was a really good teacher.

This review is for the campus in Tempe, AZ. I cannot stress how remarkable this program was. I…read morehighly recommend it for career changers and working professionals who need to make the transition sooner rather than later. While it helps to have some natural study skills or to be reasonably good at tests, I hadn't been to in person classes in more than a decade and was concerned about being an older student. My concerns were completely put at ease from day one. Every instructor was both friendly and incredibly capable, knowing the content and the field with a depth of knowledge that only comes from years--and often decades--in the field. While the content was understandably intense and the volume of knowledge overwhelming, the course leaders were constantly checking in and offered extra instruction, guidance and support as needed. The skills staff brought youthful enthusiasm as well as a wealth of knowledge, too, and while that was the area I was most concerned about, we had structured time to practice until I felt 100% at ease. Instructors and staff were easily accessible, patient to a fault and always willing to help. As a career educator myself, I felt impressed by their ability to teach for hours and then stick around to help with skills practice and other needs as they arose. Finally, the reason I initially picked the program proved powerful: the all-inclusive nature. I have ADD and knew I might struggle to follow through on things like registering for the NREMT, or to create the appropriate accounts or know how to focus on which study aids. I also hate cooking and preferred to pick a program that included food so that this subject would be taken care of ahead of time. If you are truly focused on a quick turn around from education to job, this is the best option. Food was included, we got incredible discounts on local hotels nearby, PocketPrep was a lifesaver as I prepped, and every step was not only laid out for us, but we were taken through them together. I cannot emphasize the holistic nature of the program enough. I paid more versus other programs for "white glove service," and I got it--right down to the provided voucher to take the NREMT test itself. Thankfully, I passed the NREMT in 70 questions on the first try. If you can keep up for two weeks of your life and cut out all distractions, then the Unitek EMT Boot Camp is for you.
