I am sad to write this unfortunate review on a local business, but I have to share my experiences over the past 10 months with Alain and his business. Overall: He has good prices, but lost my trust as he failed to show up and took advantage of my not being in the same city as the property I asked for lawn maintenance. I sincerely hope he will learn to do better even though he didn't do right by me. *First impression* As you can read from my first review, I was really impressed with my first experience with him. He asked for a review immediately for the other company name EZ Yards, but said he had some issue with Yelp account. He responded timely and did the job amazingly. I requested lawn maintenance (hedges and mow the lawn) every two months (he insisted on monthly - I obliged bc it's small business) on my parents' property in a different city than where I live. I needed a business I could trust that would do the job and do it well. My parents are getting older and Alain seemed to understand the importance of family. And I've been taken for a ride! *The long game* I was very impressed the second time he came when I wasn't in the city because this time before asking for payment he sent pictures. *Red flags I should've noticed* - He insisted monthly maintenance, but instead came when he could. - I would receive text messages saying he was going to the property thinking he would show up only for another one to come the next week saying he was definitely going. - He never sent pictures to prove the maintenance was done, but again I thought I could trust him. *Chances Upon Chances* One of his services said he could cut tree branches. So I asked if he could trim some branches. I sent him pictures of the tree I wanted cut. He said that if he hauled them away it would be extra so it would be cheaper to leave it for the city to pick up. I told him where the city would pick up and even sent him a picture. I came to check on the property to find the tree was poorly cut and the branches left in the wrong spot. I didn't mind the tree, but told him he placed the branches in the wrong area. He said he would show up that day to move them. Then, he said he would show up the next day. He never showed. Instead, I had to move the branches myself with my older mother in the rain to avoid a citation from the city. Despite this I wanted to give him another chance, he shared with me that he had something come up with his family. He wasn't specific, but I decided to give him another chance bc of how much I love and care for my family. *The Last Experience* End of April 2021/Beginning of May 2021: I asked if he could go to the property and cut the lawn and hedges (regular lawn maintenance) bc we got a citation from the city. He said he would get to our property but it's taking him time bc he landed a big contract. Regardless, he said he cut it and asked me for $60 I came to visit my parents for Mother's Day weekend just to find that the bushes were not cut and the edges where the grass meets cement or the house were over a foot tall. I sent him pictures and circled the areas. He didn't respond. I had to text him again asked for an explanation. His response exactly: "My. Weed whacked broke on the spot." I asked about the hedges and he never responded. I don't understand why ask for money when you didn't do the job bc your machine broke? Why not tell me? My only guess is bc he knew I dont live in the same city and can only visit when I can. He never apologized nor did he say I'll come back and do it. He never offered to refund my money. I thought that he wouldn't want to lose consistent business so I was hoping he would apologize but here we are in the middle of June and I haven't heard a thing. We live in a time where trust is easily broken. It's hard to find people and business to trust. I trusted this man. I truly did, and I feel nothing short but taken advantage of. *Why then am I giving him two stars instead of one?* Bc I know deep down he is a good man. I think if you live on the property and can see the job he does immediately; He won't take advantage of you. *Use my review as a notice of caution* I want his business to succeed and maybe it's growing at an exponential rate that he can't keep up. He would rather choose businesses that offer more money than a residential home that's essentially lowering hanging fruit. Perhaps, if you go into business with him you too might want a contract. I've learned my lesson. I hope he will do better. I wish him the best, and I will fight for my money refunded from the bank. read more

Started good with estimate that was a bit higher than other two that I have however he was able to get the job done sooner and I was willing to pay more just to get it done, needed to remove the shrubs from the backyard to get it ready for the artificial grass. I was very specific that the roots needed to be out as well, since I was not there that day I asked how it was going and was told that all was complete, I asked once again if the roots were out and was told that they are absolutely out. I paid them in full and even gave extra tip. Once I came home I noticed that the roots are not out, I reached out and no answer, I reached out few more times and sent the video showing that the job wasn't completed with no answer. Sad part is that I would have given them more projects if only they stood behind what was promised. read more

Horrible customer service. I was seeking a reputable company that could provide me with regular lawn service and found this company based on the great reviews. They scheduled to come out and do a review and estimate, but then their guy cancelled 20 minutes prior to my first appointment because his "fly wheel" broke down on him. Ok no worries, I understand stuff happens. I then reschedule with him for several days later and then he's a no show! I wait around for 15 minutes and no call from him, nothing. I then message him to ask if he's still coming and his response to me is "sorry, you're going to have to find someone else," without any further explanation. Thanks for making me take time off work twice and not have the decency to even show up. You easily lost a potential long term customer. read more

Amazing work and professionalism. The work this team provided was the best. We just purchased a home and had two huge trees to remove in addition to removing hedges, planters, trim a mango tree that was intertwined with an electricity cable. They worked none stop and in 4 hours they did it all. It is so hard to find this level of professionalism and we are so thankful. read more

My review is strictly for the job done. Alain and his team did an awesome job. The trees in the front were overgrown to the point you couldn't see the house anymore. The backyard looked like a jungle and not a pretty one either. They left the front and the backyard in impeccable condition. Alain has definitely enhanced the curb appeal to this house. I have been looking someone to provide reliable, quality lawn care for quite a while now. After 5 different companies and a whole year, I found that either the prices were far too expensive, the people weren't pleasant or the work was shoddy. Sometimes all of the above! Tech 1 is, by all accounts, a fantastic company. I had the pleasure of working with Kelvin on a complicated project (2 massive oak trees that were severely damaged during Irma needed to be removed without damaging my house or my neighbor's homes.) We met on a Saturday afternoon and by Sunday morning, his team was hard at work on my property. It's obvious that this crew knows how to approach a job with a coordinated, efficient strategy because they knocked my job out in no time. During the process, I was constantly receiving text updates with pictures to let me know how things were progressing which I greatly appreciated. I felt extremely confident after talking to Kelvin, seeing these guys in action, and speaking with some of the other employees on site. Everybody there tackled the job with professionalism, courtesy, and unbelievable haste. 3 days after meeting Kelvin and his team, I have already referred him to a friend (and plan to keep doing so as the opportunities arise.) This company's goal is to perform high-quality work and I couldn't be more satisfied with the outcome. We were looking for someone to come remove coconuts from a 30-ft. tree in our back yard, and I got estimates all over the map, up to $1,000! Alain with Tech 1 charged me way less than that, and he was personable and had a sense of humor in our communications. Not only did he and Omar cut down the couple dozen coconuts, but they gave the entire palm crown a haircut so that we ran the risk of fewer things falling on our roof (or on us!). They cleaned up beautifully as well, since cutting debris from a 30-ft. palm actually drops a lot of dust and other crud. It took about a half-hour, and they were on their way. The tree is very high, so they had to climb it with spike shoes, which left some marks on the tree--but Alain let me know of that ahead of time. It's kind of the price to pay when your tree is as tall as ours. Plus, we had to be a little patient waiting for their arrival, since we only were needing the one tree service from them, and they booked us in between larger jobs. But Alain communicated his delay with us via text, and we were able to plan accordingly. I look forward to seeing them again for our text tree job! read more

Needed some yard work done in a hurry and depending on how it went, regular lawn maintenance after that. We scheduled a time to meet for an estimate and they were on-time and had the best price compared to the others. Showed up the next day and worked non-stop even though it rained a few times and got the job done. Happy with the results, I signed up for lawn maintenance with them and look forward to them taking care of the yard from now on. I needed someone new to trim tall hedges and found Tech 1 on Yelp based on the reviews. I called Alain and he told me to send some pics, which I did. He came by later the same day, in the afternoon, to take a look in person. He looked and told me he'd get back to me with a price, which he did about 1-2 days later. The price was fair, so I agreed to hire him for the job. He told me he'd contact me later in the Alain and his helper were truly amazing. They lived up to the excellent reviews. The end result was even better than I expected and they were done in 4 hours, where previous guy needed an entire day to trim and pack up debris in his truck. Two other things I greatly appreciated was: (1) Alain communicated via text and/or calling in advance to confirm the date and time; and (2) he arrived on time and worked efficiently getting the job done asap. Being that I'm moving soon and hadn't had any maintenance done in 2 months or so i needed a clean up for the yard asap to get the house in tip top shape to be able demonstrate it to possible new tenants. I got a quick response from (I think his name is Alain) through yelp and we set up an appt 2 days later and he showed up in time and did an amazing job cleaning & clearing the yard and brushes. Only reason I didn't give a 5 star is cause he didn't have a tool needed, on hand to clear some seeds that drop and make a mess on the patio. These guys are amazing. They arrived early and worked all day trimming back a Mango tree and Old Oak trees limbs away from my roof. Over promised, did not deliver and unethical. DO NOT pay this vendor before they finish the work. We made that obvious mistake and Alain Toubes quit the job once he was paid and now he will not return to finish the work we contracted for. This has turned into a consumer complaint and small claims court suit instead of a completed job. We really regret believing the favorable Yelp reviews and contacting Tech 1 for an estimate. Soooo....I didn't even hire this company *but* after meeting them last week at my apartment complex where they were doing work I just have to leave them a review. Alain and his crew had just finished up some lawn and tree cutting and the work looked amazing!
