Buyer beware!! I dropped my truck off for regular oil change with no defects to the truck. The repair facility sends me an estimate for more than 7k specifying they need to fix an oil leak before changing oil. I knew this to be false immediately as the truck never leaked nor consumed any oil since last service 3 months prior. I immediately declined and took the truck to another repair facility and they changed the oil the same day with no oil leak repair needed or noted. I called the shop back and asked to speak to the service manager with no response back. I did speak to the service advisor and explained what happened. I told them I wanted to give them the opportunity to know what happen in case it was a service tech issue but since no response back, I have no other choice but to believe its common practice to falsify repair bills and charge accordingly. read more

Where do I begin...9/4/2019 I came to Tec-equipment to get an oil change and to fix my power on-off switch on my 2016 Volvo semi truck. I also asked for a DOT INSPECTION.... upon performing DOT inspect, they found an oil leak in my crankshaft, a torn belt on my alternator, 4 batteries no good, reroute brake chamber hose, and a exhaust leak somewhere due to soot under my hood by my turbo/egr. But wouldn't be able to tell me without a diagnostic! Total: $7,674 9/18/2019 I am finally getting my truck back. Normally I would not bash a business cuz of my disappointment but I had to speak on it..the people there are real friendly, especially Ben the service attendant who went out his way to help bring down some of these cost!! But what pissed me off was that they said my reverse light didn't work and I told them that it worked before I got here..."go check the cameras"!! After checking cameras they said they couldn't see cuz I never did back up!!! I insisted that they worked and they insisted that they didn't!! After spending all this money they couldn't change a bulb or check to see if a wire came a loose...eventually the manager Matt finally succumbed...omw home I noticed the engine light on I called Volvo and they did a remote diagnostic and said it was a nox sensor...I called Tec-equipment and they said bring it back but immediately started denying that they did it or had anything to do with it!!! Mind u, I didn't have a check engine light on before I took it here and they never told me of any faults on!!! I refused to pay them anymore money for something that I know was working when I got there!!! Although, I can't say for sure if Tec-equipment had been adding problems in order to get more money, I can't say for sure that they didn't!!! So b aware of TEC-equipment la Mirada California!!! I bought a 2016 used Volvo truck from Penske. I had the NTP warranty. I had transmission problems that almost put me out of business. As of now, I am a one man show and with current freight rates, I was in trouble. Any how, I took my truck to TEC Equipment in La Mirada and they told me about the transmission problem. the problem was even bigger than expected, there was a national back order and I would have had to wait over a month and face certain shut down. Eric Stanton, The Director of Service Operations was very helpful. Eric Stanton recognized that I was a hard working one man show and went above and beyond to help me. Eric made a few phone calls and located the part I needed that was on back order and got me in and out of the shop in 1 week. I highly recommend TEC Equipment in La Mirada and Eric Stanton is my guy now! My lesson learned is to only buy from Volvo. So next time I buy a truck, I am gong to stay on the winning horse and call TEC La Mirada where I know I am in competent hands. read more

Polite, good sense of humor, he answered all my questions, and he even helped me try to find an ABS airline clip that turned out to not be available. It is taking more than two days just to give a Diagnosis of what is the problem with the truck. That's not good at all especially if you have a route that has already been setup. If I can find out what is wrong with it I would know where to go from there. They are making me lose my route and a lot of money which they will not replace nor make up for my lost time. read more

Every experience here has been horrible. Our company has spent around $50,000 here over the years and our experiences never get better. Please, at all costs, avoid this dealer. They have done everything from charge $300 to change a tail light. To quoting me $10,000 for an top end rebuild and when I tried to pick it up the price jumped to $13,000! The service department is sketchy and will gouge you for all your worth. I think the worst part about all of it is their lack of care for customer service...again, this Volvo dealer should never be an option when it comes to servicing your vehicle. read more

This review is for the service department. Padding the bill for extra repairs Poor customer service, Questions answered slowly(days). Took almost a week to get a revised quote(many errors on their end) We took a truck in with less 50,000 miles. They quoted us over $10,000 including: $310 - for a check engine $155 - to tell us we needed tires And all new suspension(keep in mind a 50k mike 2009 truck) We calculated there itemization and it only added up to $9,000(parts and labor they listed) but the total was $10,700.... When we tried to get our truck out they tried to charge us almost $100 for "shop fees", we only had diagnosis work only. We took it to another shop and they charged us $1400. Most of the items on the list by TEC were not needed. I do NOT recommend. read more

I'm an owner operator with a 2011 volvo vnl and religiously go to tec for quality truck parts and service. Great staff, especially Jeff . I'm only saying this because when it calls "going above and beyond your duties", he's the apydomy of that definition. If anyone ever needs anything done right and some. I get parts here for all my Volvo and Mack trucks, off the Freeway so it makes it easy to get to. They do have two delivery options, if pick up isn't an option then you can always have it brought to you. read more

for service department... my engine blow up on 2012. service sucks and people are so fucking rude. truck was there for 8 months(( march to october)) and finally get fix $39 000 plus..plus.plus went up to $$ 52 000 dollars..by the way my last 6 digits of vin number (( 499100)) P.O # 1599 the manager a guy full of tatoos he is just an asshole ((( AND A GUY CALLED RAFAEL @ service )) he forced me out of the shop and want to FIGHTME ..only cause i was complainting for weird noise under engine right after was replace. i told everybody but no one seem to help... i guess cause im not white,, seriously this place is really fuck up. but Rafael shouldn"t be there.. read more

You have a better chance of getting your truck fixed at a liquor store, however i have to admit that they are very good at over charging for every thing and they also charge sales tax on labor which is a clear violation of California board of equalization publication 108. This place is a Circus that wears a Volvo badge . read more

service sucks, they take for ever to get to the truck, every time you call its a different song and dance, finally after its done truck brakes down on the freeway, they claim its a different problem. how does a truck drive there with one problem and leave with a different problem??? read more
