The pain is often second to…read morenone and getting any kind of procedure for many of us, especially root canals, leads to avoidance and even more pain. From my first phone call after referral, I knew I was in good hands. Bernadette was confident, joyful, empathetic and efficient - she squeezed me in within 48 hours. Then when I arrived, I got lucky enough to meet her in person. It felt like running into a family member that you haven't seen in a long time. Utterly genuine, radiating warmth and real care. I did not get the assistant's name when they took me back, but just like Bernadette, she too was disarming and transparent with me. Again, it felt like I was in good hands. Then Dr. Bachstein came through and explained what the specific and detailed plan was, what different routes it might take based on what she saw in my tooth, what to do and what appointments might look like if we did had to pivot. She was able to perform most of the root canal, although we need a second appointment to finish after some infection dies down. It was never too painful and when it started crossing over, she responded quickly, never letting me be uncomfortable for longer than a millisecond. She was reactive, decisive and clear. I checked out and set the next appointment with Bernadette and she was somehow even more comforting. I can't tell you how big of a deal that is when you're nervous and coming from months of pain. It's honestly a relief - from every single person who addressed my problem to how I felt simply being there - just one big, grateful, sigh of relief. I can't believe I'm saying that I can't wait to go to my next appointment for a root canal (!), but it's true. The experience was overwhelmingly, surprisingly wonderful. Thank you, Bernadette, and thank you to Dr. Bachstein and the amazing assistant. Do yourself a favor and don't dream of going anywhere else. This is what true human service looks like.

I am always called back within ten minutes of my appointment time 2. At my prior dentist, I found the process of having a cavity filled extremely painful/long - there were times I truly wanted to get up mid procedure and leave because I couldn't tolerate it anymore. Afterwards I always had a sore jaw, my gums would be sensitive/cut up from the metal ring and sometimes even my lip would be cut. I was surprised to learn that it doesn't have to feel that way at all. Dr. Patel and his team re-did one of the fillings that my prior dentist had done poorly and they completed the procedure efficiently without causing discomfort 3. My prior dentist would work with too many patients at a time. When I would come for a 6 month check up, I would often be waiting in the patient chair for a long time before she would pop in to do the final exam. Here, the dentist comes in right after the dental hygienist is done and sends you on your way. I really appreciate and trust the entire Team. I used to have to block off 2-3 hours on my calendar for a dentist appointment and now I'm done in under an hour. Highly recommend!

-- Painful experience, poor communication, and repeated reminders after cancellation…read more My wife and I visited Advanced Dentistry of Center City on September 15 for our first appointments, expecting routine dental cleanings. We both left uncomfortable, frustrated, and without receiving a cleaning. From the beginning, the visit felt rushed and poorly explained. The technician hurried from one place to another, quietly telling us to follow her without clearly explaining what was happening. We each underwent 18 individual dental X-rays. The process was extremely uncomfortable and, for me, painful enough that I nearly cried during the final images. My wife also found the experience painful. Neither of us had experienced dental X-rays being taken this way before. I also received a panoramic X-ray. When we contacted our insurer afterward, we were told it would not be covered because of the plan's three-year frequency restriction. We left facing a potential out-of-pocket expense that we had not expected. Dr. Batra told me I had no cavities and needed cleaning every three months because of my periodontal history. Having undergone periodontal and osseous surgery in March and recently moved from Texas, maintenance care was exactly why I was there. Nevertheless, no cleaning was performed. Instead, I was told I needed two crowns or risk losing two teeth. My wife was also told she needed two crowns, and she did not receive her cleaning either. We did not feel we received a clear explanation of the findings, treatment alternatives, or why the crowns were necessary. Scheduling the crown work felt assumed rather than discussed with us. The office arranged back-to-back cleaning and crown appointments for me on September 29 and appointments for my wife in October. We were told we would receive an insurance estimate, but it never arrived. After discussing the experience, we decided not to return. We called to cancel and obtained our X-rays after completing the required release form so we could seek another opinion. Despite cancelling, I continued receiving appointment reminders warning of a $50 missed-appointment fee. I called again and received written confirmation that the appointment was cancelled, with instructions to disregard automated messages. Yet the reminders continued, including a further reminder from the front desk about the supposedly cancelled appointment. My wife had to call again and leave another message. Painful X-rays, inadequate explanations, no cleaning for either of us, unexpected insurance concerns, and repeated reminders after a confirmed cancellation made this an extremely disappointing experience. We lost confidence in this practice and will not return.

am very saddened and disappointed to have to write this review…read more I saw the Facebook ad and checked out the reviews which were phenomenal plus they provided service to my favorite ballers was an extra plus I figured!! They accepted my insurance and even provided a link for financing for which I was approved for !! I was very impressed with the staff and facilities, this was my dream place... What could go wrong??? Hadeer was very responsive to all my questions via email which meant a lot to me... I was a bit apprehensive about the cancellation policies which varies from a $100 to possible up to $8000 or more if you had to reschedule surgery within a month., I was still willing to take that gamble..however I had a persistent cough from mild controlled COPD and after checking with my Dr, he recommended I get clearance from pulmonologist. They were understanding at first but because I would be under twilight anesthesia for 7 or more hours this posed additional concerns... For instance about the anathesiologist and who would be monitoring me while I am under and even more importantly what kind of plan do they have in place if unforseen complications were to occur. It turns out they do not have a anesthesiologist on staff, never answered the question of if a dedicated and qualified staff member would watch over me and what plan do they in case of emergency... They just ghosted me and stopped taking my calls and responding to emails afterwards., I no longer hold them in high esteem, it's all about the money and prestige but I caution whoever go there for procedures like implants to due your due diligence and ask these hardball questions and note their response.... They did not have care or compassion to tell me I am not their ideal candidate, I would be writing a 5 star review instead. PROCEED with CAUTION or you may pay with your life or health...

Dr. Fan sat with him and did many slides of x-rays and wrote out the skeletons of a comprehensive plan to tackle all the issues. My dad then had a separate health crisis and also spent some time abroad. Fast forward to end of 2018, my dad had been living under my care for two years, and I'm adamant he receives regular dental care. I wrestle him back here for a cleaning a month ago. We discover that an old dental bridge is teetering on the edge of collapse. Dr. Fan again devises a full plan that calls for the bridge to be taken out, two teeth removed, and dental implants. Upon learning the cost of such an undertaking, my dad starts to waffle. The day before his first appointment to start the implant process, he shows up to the clinic wanting to negotiate the price down. Dr. Fan took the time to explain to him what he was and wasn't being charged for (actually discounts), and why some materials cost what they do. Instead of being impatient or offended, Dr. Fan provided my dad actual medical advice and care, above and beyond what is required of him. All the front desk people and dental technicians are super nice and friendly. We had a mix-up about payment that was completely my doing. I ran right back after getting home, and in the probably half hour I was gone, they'd already taken all the steps they could on their end to hopefully help resolve the issue. They went through all that trouble even though it was totally not their fault. I have every confidence in the work Dr. Fan does, and I think the clinic is staffed with really caring and kind people. If I didn't have such anxiety that prevents me from "breaking up" with my own dentist, I'd come here myself. Wholeheartedly recommend.
