I don't normally take the time to write reviews. In the past, if I've had a bad experience or…read moreencounter, I will just discontinue the services. However, in this case I am highly disappointed, upset and frustrated. I would like to caution parents, who truly care about the health of their children's teeth. As a parent who keeps up with regular cleanings and treatment appointments, it is extremely disappointing to have to write this review. But this type of negligence needs be addressed. With this being said my children have been patients for years at Tebo, both the Lilburn and Peachtree Corners office, has serviced them. I've made sure when any issues arise, they are taken care of immediately. Follow up appointments are always scheduled in advance or before we even leave the office. On February 20th my daughter went in for her routine cleaning. Once she was done, the hygienist informs me "she'll need to be referred out to a general dentist, "she has A cavity". No more information was provided. I was handed a referral form with no information regarding treatment. And with that vague explanation and a list of doctors, we were sent on our way. Not fully understanding why she's being referred out, I call the Peachtree Corners location, thinking maybe Lilburn doesn't do this type of work. (She's had cavities filled at the Peachtree Corners location before) When I called the Peachtree Corners office to make the appointment, the young lady who answered, puts me on hold, only to tell me that she's no longer a patient she has "aged out". Pretty much there's nothing they can do for her, give her Tylenol. In the meantime, my daughter is still in pain. I follow up with another dentist who wasn't able to see my daughter right away.Meanwhile.......my daughter is still in pain. I find a dentist to finally take a look at her, she needs to get 3 root canals!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT do you mean? My child goes to Tebo regularly, she's had brackets/ wires removed in order for her teeth to be worked on. So again, I ask, how would any professional miss the urgent need for care, especially with someone who visits the dentist regularly. The explanation I received for management was not helpful, again saying I'm sorry and what they should have done does not alleviate my frustration and/or concern for my daughters health. Meanwhile my daughter is still in pain...... She's in full tears and I can't help her!! I am a single mother who can't afford to pay out of pocket for 3 root canals, at one time as we wait and are at the mercy for the insurance company to approve/deny the claim. Meanwhile she's in pain....... I've spent much money on orthodontic treatment in order for her to have a confident smile. I know how important this is, I don't have one and I take much pride in my children's appearance. I am beyond upset at the point, I've taken her to the ER just to make sure there's no infection still no resolve, they are doctors not dentist. I am overly appreciative at the care she received at Children's Healthcare. The one positive thing that came out of this experience. PARENTS beware: Don't be fooled by the extremely nice waiting area, TEBO plushies or Tebo coins. This place in my opinion lacks quality care and neglects the patients overall health. This review is to solely highlight my experience with the referenced dentist. As I conclude this review, which has taken several days to complete, I sit in another office praying for some relief for my child!!!! My daughter is still in pain!!!!

Let me start by saying that this review has nothing to do with the Doctor that was treating me, my…read moreshort experience with Dr. Fabiola Palacios was amazing, she's very professional and very thorough. She was able to effectively find and treat a problem in one of my molars. My review has more to do with the office policies and the staff. So, I went for my first appointment and I was very happy, then I was referred to an endodontist and he was also very professional. I was scheduled with Gwinnett Family Dentistry (GFD) for a second appointment to finally get a crown in my molar, so they call me (GFD) and schedule my appointment, very nice lady, never mentioned any of their policies regarding changes or cancellations. On a Thursday, i receive a confirmation call from GFD and again, the nice lady never mentioned any of their policies or how long the procedure will take. So I confirm that I'm attending to my appointment, thinking that the procedure will take about an hour like in my first appointment, but what do I know??.. I'm just the patient who's never ever had a crown treatment before. So I call the day of my appointment, which was Monday, around 7:30-ish... I get Ingrid on the phone and I ask her how long is the treatment going to take? and she says "2 hours", and obviously I had no idea of the length because I was never informed. So I panic and I tell her that I can't make it because of work, I didn't know it would take 2 hours, and I have to reschedule..... I understand that I'm calling at the last minute, BUT.. Aren't they (GFD) supposed to inform you of these details before your actual appointment?? Anyways, she tells me there is a cancellation fee, and I tell her that I'm NOT cancelling, I'm rescheduling because I was not informed that the procedure would take that long. So she insists that is the same because is in the same day, less than 48 hours before my appointment. I get very upset, and I tell her that if they charge me a cancellation fee I will go to another dentists, obviously Ingrid doesn't care. She tell me that the administrator will be at their office the next day and she will call me... After a few minutes I call back and ask Ingrid how much the cancellation fee is?.... And her answer????.... " I don't know, the admin will call you tomorrow"... that never happened.... A week after, I receive a bill from them, it's only for $15, the original amount was $50 but after some credit they made I only "have" to pay $15, NOT my point... So my problem is..... Ingrid, works in that office, SHE tells me about the cancellation fee, but she doesn't know the amount.... So, how am I supposed to know about their policies if they never ever EVER mentioned them to me, the policies are not in their website and I was never informed by any of their staff, not when I scheduled my appointment and not when the nice lady called me to confirm my appointment.... But I have to know them????? Can someone please tell me what is the logic here????

On top of that, they said I'd need a deep cleaning that would cost $300 after insurance, even though I've never paid for cleanings with my current coverage. To top it off, the dentist informed me that after all those crowns, she would need to whiten my teeth -- it honestly felt like I was sitting through a sales pitch, not a dental exam. I left the office in tears, overwhelmed and scared. Thankfully, I went for a second opinion at a reputable dentist and was told I have zero cavities and only need one crown for an old filling, which my insurance would cover. I will never return to Lilburn Family Dentistry and would strongly encourage others to get a second opinion before agreeing to any treatment plan from this office.

After a few horror stories, I found Dr. Ashish Patel and Lawrenceville Family Dental Care. I initially went there because it was close to my office. The service was fantastic! Even after he moved to his new, state-of-the art office a few years ago, and my office moved much further away, I drive an hour to be treated like a valued client. My son is super-sensitive and Dr. Patel just talks to him, tells him what he is going to do and does it with no drama or stress. I got my first crown there (and they 3-d print them IN-HOUSE!) Absolutely amazing technology, great staff, and friendly atmosphere. (You also get a goodie bag with lip balm, a toothbrush and toothpaste when you exit. We showed up 5 minutes early to our scheduled time and were not seen for another 30 minutes. The waiting room was crowded, uncomfortable, and noisy so my child became overwhelmed very quickly. We had an attempt at x-rays, our cleaning and exam. The cleaning and exam were rushed and while the x-rays were partial because my child was not cooperating (could've been our 30 minute wait + being new patients there without a full greeting or walkthrough that made him uncomfortable), we did not get a clear treatment plan. The x-rays and exam identified potential cavities and all that I was told was "call back some time later. It might be like $996-$1200 or something but we won't know". I asked as many questions on-site as I could but none of the staff could provide me written documentation, a pricing estimate, or even follow-up notes! It was absurd and they just kept telling me to follow up -- complete disregard for my child's treatment. Fast forward to about 20 calls later for over a month and my child's condition goes unresolved for weeks then it becomes months! We had our appointment in late August and they wanted to schedule the treatment for NOVEMBER. Forget the dates they promised me in September or October. It was an absolute joke of calling them every other day for the numerous "messages we left our scheduler" or "we will definitely contact you" responses. I've heard better responses from spam callers. I have left this practice and found a much more responsive, trustworthy, and honest pediatric dentist. My new dentist is treating my son almost immediately and has been very clear and diligent in their paperwork, billing, and treatment expectations. Unfortunately, becasue we wasted time on Little Pearls around a potential treatment plan there, my child's condition worsened and he has suffered an infection due to Little Pearl's ignorance. Little Pearls was a nightmare that I wish had never happened. Apparently a lot of parents settle for this practice but I expect much clearer communication and care for my young child especially as someone who pays a decent amount for my employer-funded dental insurance. Please do not settle for this place - your children deserve better.
