The atmosphere is a yes for me! Wonderful place to take someone and have a pot of tea. They do have some gluten free. There were things I was not able to eat because of spice (who is allergic to spice, for real) . So my option was rice and edamame (ask for gluten free). My daughter had the tamale. She's gluten and dairy free, and my friend had the Dahl and rice with the pickled mango. The tea I had was lychee black tea, my daughter had Puer Valour, and my friend, Shou puer. I give the rice and edamame a 5 out of 5. I liked the simplicity if it with tea actually. My daughter gave the tamale 4 out of 5. Lots of hot sauce on top, but she like the flavor of the tamale. The gentleman service is was kind and was able to ask all the questions we needed for us. The tea you drink can be purchased next door. The customer service next-door was superb! So kind. Live this place! There's a couple things gluten-free if you you can have spice. What a fun experience.

Instead of accepting it, I was told that they only sell alcoholic drinks to people with an American passport. I found this response extremely offensive and disrespectful toward international visitors. A valid passport is an official government-issued form of identification, regardless of the country that issued it. I felt that I was treated differently because of my nationality, which made me feel unwelcome. I hope the management reviews its policies and ensures that foreign visitors are treated with the same respect as everyone else.

I find the interior inspiring, with very tall ceilings and a rustic/industrial vibe honoring the history of the inner SE industrial area.

A lot of unsavory things happen on 82nd Avenue, but it truly is improving in recent years. And it's one of the best areas in Portland to get a wide variety of foods and goods from an array of cultures worldwide. Some of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants, Asian bakeries, and gift shops are in this area. The Jade District Market brings together all of the best vendors, restaurants and entertainers in the area, representing an inpressive number of Asian cultures. Located at the Southeast Portland Community College Campus, there was abundant parking in several lots, as well as direct access to the bus line. This event really was a family affair! There were so many vendors selling everything you could think of, as well as community services handing out goodies to the folks in the neighborhood. I bought a bundle of lucky bamboo, some chrysanthemum tea, and some cute locally made pottery. We decided to have Filipino food, prepared by a sweet grandmotherly figure fanning smoke from the grill with bundled banana leaves. The line moved quickly, and I thoroughly enjoyed my Pancit bihon and Lumpia. The entertainment schedule is action-packed, featuring local bands, student choral groups, dancers and more! I loved every minute of the market, and can't wait to visit next year as well!
