Yes! I showed up around 9:30pm, more than a bit mussed up from the rain. They treated me quite well [despite my appearance], and directed me to a small table tucked away along the wall. The way the booths are set up is quite cozy, with dividers every two tables so that you have a fair amount of privacy.
The prix fixe menu was of Bretagne (Brittany), and I chose the Cotriade from this (a la carte). Cotriade, it turns out, is a traditional Breton fish soup with whitefish and a few other types of seafood. It was absolutely amazing: the broth strong and flavorful, the fish cooked quite well. It was served with a side of freshly made herb pesto - not basil, perhaps, maybe parsley? Very flavorful, and went perfectly with the white fish.
A second course? Nothing on the menu was appealing to me - I'm always craving vegetables, which is a thing rare to find when you're out. "Could you perhaps..." I started to ask.
"Sure, let me check with the chef."
And sure enough, they actually could. They prepared a small dish of brussels sprouts, carrots, and cauliflower. It was cooked with a light amount of butter and had hints of herbs and fresh pepper in the seasoning. Filling, warming, and exactly what I was craving. What a great meal! read more
