Outrageous lighting, falling balloons, super loud music, buckets of beers, cheap alcoholic drinks, loud MC yelling, and dancing girls on small stages rounds out the Congo Bar. You will also have the typical opportunity to buy jello shots, roses, and photographs of you and yours; pretty standard at these types of places in Mexico.
The Congo Bar is a fun place, and almost every crowd I have seen there has been friendly. Everyone just wants to have fun. On only one occasion did I see a drunk out of control, and the security quickly dealt with it.
Speaking of security, the bouncers are very good keeping an eye on who's coming in and going out. They seem to do a good job searching folks on the way in and making sure people don't get too out of control.
One of the officers, Alexander, is awesome. He always greets us and hangs out nearby while we visit. We don't stay very long, but it's still a fun place to visit.
