We purchased a miniature schnauzer from this business and could not be happier. We were able visit their location and interact with several puppies before making a decision. They offered a "living room" setting with toys so we could watch the puppies play. This is a large facility and I can only imagine the complexity of managing such an operation. Our experience was the owners took a great deal of time at check out to ensure we were fully informed about all aspects of ownership (vet check, registration, feeding, potential for deworming, etc). Our veterinarian was very complimentary of our puppies health. There was a need to treat for worms but we expected that. The owners were very nice and caring. Our experience was positive and we would recommend evaluating this business for your own needs. We love our puppy. We are retired and she has given us hours of smiles and laughter. I loved her so much. After she passed I looked on the Teapups website and they had a retired 4 1/2 year old Westie stud. I contacted them by email and they replied that he was still available. I made an appointment to come at the end of the week to meet him and I fell in love again. I found the breeder and facility to be responsible and well ran. I hope that Oscar is as healthy as my Abby was and I have a lot of years with him. I did have him checked out with my vet and he was given a clean bill of health. They are a puppy mill, they change their name everytime things get difficult for them to do business. Worked right next door for years and visited the horrors of that place (dogs in cages who lost limbs from carpeting get wrapped around their legs and cutting off circulation and no one noticed until it was too late, but they kept on breeding them) They change the name of their business but it's owned by the same people who only care about the money and not the animals. They took one of their breeding dogs to the vet to have her put down because she couldn't have anymore babies, fortunately the vet called a friend of mine and they took her in and gave her a wonderful life (outside of a cage) before she passed away naturally.) PLEASE do thorough research into the people you are buying your pet from! Puppy Mills need to be shut down permanently. read more

I wish I could give zero stars!!. We bought 2 corgi puppies from them and it's been a nightmare ever since!!! As of today we are on round 3 of treatment for giardia, worms. I believe they know that have this contamination, as they have a specific disclaimer on their contract. I am so extremely disappointed!! They have not responded to my emails, or letter. I even sent a copy to the AKC, as I feel they are probably the only governing body over them DONT BUY PUPPIES FROM HERE!!! THEY ARE CONTAMINATED!!!! When adopting a puppy you would expect it to be a wonderful experience. Unfortunately that was not the case. Sure, receiving photos and videos are nice but when you cant be there in person to see the puppy a breeder can get away with quite a bit without the adoptee knowing. I experienced this first hand with my friend and their family as they attempted to adopt a Mini Schnauzer. They only got a few sets of photos and 2 videos of their sweet pup before they were told it had passed away at the vet. There was no phone call to inform anyone of an issue with the puppy being sick or that it was at the vet. Only a phone call to apologize that the puppy they had fallen in love with was no longer alive. My friends children were devastated. The lack of communication just proves that Teapup hides information from their adoptees to save their "reputation" or what is left of it if you ask me. People need to do their research and ask LOTS of questions before placing any money down on an animal, and if the breeder refuses to answer everything with complete transparency then that is a major red flag. I wish I could give this business 0 stars, because they don't bring happiness to peoples lives like they claim to. In many other reviews it sounds like at best you're getting major vet bills IF your puppy survives the surroundings it's born and raised in. Breeders need to do better, or they shouldn't be raising animals in the first place, plain and simple. read more

We adopted a Havanese from Tea Pup in June 2022, and was absolutely thrilled with the whole process. We saw the pictures of our Brutus (he was named Dimitri at the time), and contacted Tea Pup for more information as this was the first time we had interacted with a breeder. We quickly received a response, and after several emails with additional questions, which were quickly answered, we made the decision to add this puppy to our family. We scheduled an appointment to pick him up, and we spent about an hour with them completing the paperwork, meeting his parents, and talking to the owner about her wonderful business. Brutus has the best personality, is a great mixture of sweet and silly, and has been a wonderful addition to the family. We would highly recommend this wonderful business if you are interested in a smaller dog (they have multiple breeds). read more

My husband stopped by Teapups on a business trip to Elkhart from Charlotte and fell in love with a pup..we had her flown to Charlotte a few weeks later and found this Coton de Tulear to be the sweetest most loving little girl we'd ever had, and we've had many family dogs over the years. The facility itself was well run, clean and every employee we've dealt with has been very kind. The only reason that we do not rate 5 stars is that we learned our pup has an incurable autoimmune disease.. we've taken her to many internists and spent quite a bit of money to attempt to cure her..only to be told that our time with her will be brief. (she's already survived 18 months longer than expected) She's doing quite well, and if love can keep her alive, then she'll be around long long time. The teacup family did everything they could to help us find the answers and even refunded our money and we never even asked them to do that. They are good people and we'd surely recommend them. read more

The adoption practices at Teapup make it clear that the focus is on selling and not on the actual customer or dog. We got our first dog from Teapup/Beer's over 10 years ago. Since then it seems like things have really changed. They do not up keep a waitlist of those waiting for a puppy and when puppies are ready to be adopted there is a free-for-all where you must call at 9am on a given date and if you're the lucky caller you get the dog, no matter if you've been trying to get a puppy for a year or for a day from them. Other breeders are capable of keeping a waitlist for puppies and it seems like that would be the fair way to manage the demand if you had any loyalty to or respect for the customer whatsoever. read more
