Just got a bulldog pup from these guys. I will say the process for finding a good english bulldog breeder is not easy, especially on the East Coast. We are from the Jersey area and found Bruiser after months of research. I am very picky where my pup comes from having had bulldogs for the past 30 years. Mitch was able to answer all my questions and I was impressed by health standards. Absolutely one of the most knowledgable bulldog breeders I have come across. Most of the breeders I talked to knew less about bulldogs than I do! The process was easy but extremely detailed. Both Mitch and Erica made sure I was going to give the pup a good home and gave me all the resources I needed. I absolutely love our pup Turtle. We had our Rocco delivered from Bruiser Bulldogs in Indiana to our home in Newark - best decision ever! The delivery service was professional and Rocco arrived happy and healthy. Not very friendly. Wouldn't know it was a business the way they answer the phone. Don't do it. These people are not people friendly.

These people have a persuasive website extolling their values and practices. However, when we started to ask questions, they became defensive and arrogant. Examples of our questions: do you have a puppy contract? If so, can you send us a copy? Can we see health checks of puppies' parents that you say passed your gold star health standards? Can you provide written explanations of what your "platinum " health guarantee means? What's included in your 1 year congenital and genetic guarantee? Do your puppies come with limited AKC registration? At one point you listed 22 available puppies on your website. How do you socialize that many puppies as you state on your website? We were met with "don't you know who we are? ... you are challenging our very philosophy! ... no one provides what you are requesting'. and so on. They were deeply offended. Apparently we should read their reviews and blindly trust them. We were searching for an ethical breeder who emphasized health and personality. These folks seemed to be what we sought. They may be in fact all that they say online or during telephone conversations. However, we were not going to drive 11 hours to pick up a puppy until we had answers to our questions. Evidently they ask you to sign a contract when you are picking up your puppy - a contract they have refused to allow you to review. We explained during conversations that we previously adopted a Dogue de Bordeaux that wasn't ethically bred and who suffered for most of its life. We won't go through that heartbreak again. Now we ask questions before falling in love with a puppy, Questions they were not willing to answer. So, no, we absolutely cannot recommend this breeder. read more

I have had the pleasure of getting two bulldogs from bruiser bulldogs. My first ever bulldog was from them just over 10 years ago. I cannot emphasize enough that they truly breed the healthiest bulldog. Bruiser (my first bully) had energy, enjoyed long walks, & a clean bill of health for YEARS. I was so naive to the health issues most bulldogs have because I never experienced them with bruiser. Fast forward 8 years and we got another bulldog, buzz, from bruiser bulldogs. He is the most athletic bulldog and our vet can't get over how healthy he is. They emphasis a bulldog that can do just about anything other dogs can do and buzz is living proof of that. He even hiked in the mountains of NC. They are worth every penny!! read more

Any questions I had were answered promptly and respectfully. They ensured we had the right dog to fit our family. It is refreshing to see a breeder that is concerned with who adopts the puppies. I would highly recommend them, and full intend on getting all future Bulldogs from this family. Don't do it. called several times to enquirer about a specific dog. When they answer the phone you don't even know you're contacting a business. I's just a muffled hello. left several messages asking for a call back. Still waiting. What a shitty way to run a business. Not very helpful.
