They took care of all his needs including meals, feeding, and bathing, and they do it with such grace. I finally was able to relax and know that he was ok. All I had to do is spend time with him after he was there. He was a decorated Korean War veteran and at 91 years of age they showed him the respect that he deserved as he reached the end of his life. But it was clear that they could not give her what she needed. So I had to hire outside AIDS. But I learned from them was quite extraordinary. My mother was never allowed to finish a meal. A notoriously slow eater when she was well they wouldn't allow her to finish, they wouldn't allow the aid that I hired to help her, and when they were ready to clean up. They simply pulled her plate away from her. By the time we found a new facility and I'm saying that memory care lasted all of three months for her, she was under 100 pounds. I'm also going to take a moment to tell you that the physician who works with atria is a piece of crap. He put my mother on stool softeners and anti constipation medication. She wasn't constipated. Instead, she was literally flushing out of her system all day long. I had to find a new place for her. She died too much later. There's nothing you can tell me that doesn't lay the blame for her condition and her passing squarely at the doorstep of this facility. I have never experienced anything like this, and if I can act as a lighthouse to people to please find someplace else that's what this review is meant to do.

At this point I am not going to review the services offered by Hebrew Home. I am giving it 1 star…read morebased on the following. When your loved one is placed at Hebrew Home, whatever benefits your loved one is receiving goes to the nursing home (this is understandable). Hebrew Home will then place a $50.00 monthly allowance into a "personal account" for the resident for things such as haircuts, or for the purchase of other items/necessities that may be available through different vendors. BEWARE: In the event that your loved one passes away DO NOT attempt to claim any existing/leftover funds from your loved ones "personal account" directly from Hebrew Home. DO NOT tell Hebrew Home that the funeral has been fully paid for as they will send the funds from that "personal account" to the Public Administrator. Have the funeral home send an invoice to Hebrew Home and then have the funds distributed to you. When I tried to recover the funds from my loved ones "personal account", Hebrew Home told me that "by law" those funds had to be returned to The Office of The Public Administrator. Personally, I believe that "law" was designed to appropriate those funds. I now believe that this law was designed so that the city/county/municipality/state can stay with your loved ones money. Hebrew Home will never tell you this, but I will and I have. BEWARE....Where the law exists the trap or trick exists!!!
