We have the great pleasure to be here once a year for my wife's company picnic! The place has plenty of shade thanks to some giant trees! Grass is great and the pool water clear as day. The kids have such a great time. The staff is friendly and helpful. We enjoy the pool slide it's so much fun. It does get hot when you walk up the stairs but they pour water on the concrete so your feet don't burn. The food this year was organized different, they had food stations. Previously they would just do a buffet and you had to wait till it open. We got there at 1145 and all the stations where open! My one complain is that the stations closed right at 330pm. They did not honor the people waiting in line for there shaved ice! That totally sucked, my digestion is at least have an employee stand at the end of the line so the people that waited for 20minutes don't feel foolish walking out. That's why I give it a 4 stars but I think I would give 41/2 if yelp allowed Other than that..... the place is amazing! read more

I recently had the opportunity to attend my company's annual employee appreciation event at Vasa Park. It exceeded any and all expectations that I had about a summer picnic. When our company first announced we were switching up our annual employee appreciation event from a sit-down dinner (which has been the norm in the past) to a family-friendly picnic-type event, I definitely had my reservations - and I'm the first to admit how wrong I was for having them. The venue itself was beautiful. It's a private park up in the Malibu Hills that's tucked away on a side street behind wrought-iron gates - and it's probably the best-kept secret of Agoura Hills. Honestly, I never would have found it on my own, so I'm glad they provide you with directions. Once you enter the park, it's a huge, expansive venue with tons of room for everyone to spread out - but because it's so effectively hidden away, it felt really exclusive. The event itself was great. There was entertainment, food, and probably the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had (this isn't a statement I make lightly!). Our MC was awesome and really did a great job getting everyone involved in the activities throughout the day. There was bingo, trivia, games and races, and so much more for the kids in attendance (like bounce houses and facepainters). I was Really impressed by the quality of the whole production. Overall, it was a beautiful day and everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves, and I'm looking forward to enjoying another impressive day again this year (and hoarding at least a dozen more of those cookies... :| ). read more

Every year, our company puts on some sort of employee appreciation event for our employees. It's an opportunity for them to fly us all to the same place (we have offices throughout the country) and recognize outstanding employees and celebrate the staff. In the past, we've done banquet hall sit-down dinners, amusement parks, and large private venues - but this might be one of my favorite ones we've done. We spent an afternoon at Will Rogers State Beach (which, in itself, is amazing - who doesn't love a beach day?) and had a delicious catered lunch, organized activities, and - most importantly - free beer and wine! It was a great bonding experience for the employees, and the event itself felt very well-organized. All of the staff were super sweet and the person running the games was hilarious (I believe his name was Michael?). He really encouraged everyone to put down the beer and participate, which allowed our team to separate from our regional cliques and experience some really amazing bonding time. We've done some great events in the past, but this one is going to be hard to top. Thanks, Team Play! My fingers are crossed that we go with you again for this year's event read more

I recently worked with TeamPlay for our company picnic, the event manager that we worked with was Gigi. Let me say, Gigi was AMAZING! We were on a tight budget and Gigi worked with us to make sure we didn't go over budget. She even helped us source a location. We had very strict requirements on location and Gigi was able to find the perfect spot for us. Throughout the process, she was easy to get a hold of and was extremely transparent with us. On the day of the event, we didn't have to do anything! Gigi and her team took care of everything from set up, permits, registration, music.. etc. We were able to kick back and enjoy the party. If you're planning a party or need an events team, I would highly recommend Gigi and her team. We had nothing but positive reviews from attendees after the party. read more

Team Play Events ran our annual Company Picnic over the weekend at Elysian Park and it was simply amazing!! We are a Company of about 110 employees and they handled everything and made it so fun! From obtaining the permits for the park, and setting up the bouncer, ez-ups, and games, to the smaller details of super cute table and event decorations they nailed it 100% for us. No detail was overlooked which really eased the burden off of our HR dept. and Company Party Committee (who usually end up not getting a chance to enjoy the event as much because we have so much to handle during events). The Games Manager, Michael, was HILARIOUS and did a super great job hosting & MC'ing all the picnic games for kids and adults. He had such great energy and made it fun so there was a lot of participation. We requested the Lawn Games package and Inflatable Foot Darts which everyone really enjoyed. Also a Caricature Artist which was a big hit -- she was great and went out of her way to do some face-painting as well since kids kept asking for it - what great service! Our Event Manager, Erin, is just wonderful. She was responsive, flexible, sweet, and very easy to work with. She had so many great suggestions throughout the planning and just made us feel at ease that everything was being taken care of. And it was! I can't say enough nice things about her - so energetic and funny and willing to step in anywhere she was needed. She's simply the best!! Ok, the Food Was Amazing!! Which is always a big deal for our employees. We had a "Fiesta" Picnic theme so we opted for their Casita De Comida "Foodie Booth" - the Beef, Chicken and Roasted CAULIFLOWER tacos were absolutely delicious!!! Erin suggested those to us since we have many vegans/vegetarians but even our carnivores loved those. We also got the hotdogs, churros, popcorn, cotton candy and snow cone add-ons which were a big hit with everyone, especially the kids. People just kept eating throughout the entire event. :) Sidenote: I also had the chance to try some of their other food options at their open house earlier in the year and WOW, what great food. Their Tri-Tip was probably the best I've ever had! Also had their "Mexican Street Corn" Tater Tots (what?!) were soooo good! We have received so many compliments afterwards (without any of the hard work). Team Play Event handles it all for you. Needless to say, we definitely recommend and will use them again (I can't wait!). read more

My company has used Team Play Events for years, but I have only recently been the organizer rather than just a guest. I have to tell you, other than a few phone calls and writing a check there really isn't much difference. They handle EVERYTHING. And, with professionalism and smiles all around. Michelle has great ideas, trust her suggestions. If you happen to get Erin and Michael as your coordinator and Emcee, your guests AND YOU will have a fun day. The recent addition of Foodie Booths just made a good thing better. So many good options. This year we had Casita de Comida Tacos, Twisted Tots and Grilled Sweeties for dessert. 2018 was our first year working with an outside vendor for our annual company picnic, and I have to say that it literally couldn't have been easier or a better experience. In the past, I've been in charge of finding the location, catering, and entertainment for our picnic, and it's always so overwhelming trying to coordinate details and logistics between multiple vendors. Insert Team Play here! They handle EVERYTHING from start to finish (they helped me find a location and even pulled the permit for the park!) and are so easy to work with. My sales manager was so helpful (and put up with all of my questions and constant emails), and our day-of event manager and MC were incredibly knowledgeable and beyond friendly. I didn't have to lift a finger on the day of the event - they showed up early to set up, made sure everything was running on schedule throughout the day, and even took care of all of the clean-up and break down at the end! The day itself was beautiful, the picnic races were so much fun (who doesn't love a water balloon toss?), and the food was delicious (and how cool is it that they prepare everything fresh on-site?). Overall, it was such an easy (and actually enjoyable!) experience that I can't see myself ever piecing together another event by myself ever again. I had my 50th Mermaid bday bash at Camp Keystone with the Wet & Wild Waterslide Party. My daughter went to camp here. So I was already familiar and impressed with the campus. Team Play Events handled all the details and the party was perfect for the adults and kids. The food was delicious, they had music, a bar, lifeguards, pool toys, and we had the Mermaid. I was able to relax and enjoy the party and my guests and even braved the 274 ft waterslide twice. I would highly recommend Team Play Events. My company held our first annual summer picnic at Vasa Park in 2019. There are so many great things to say. Love the privacy of an enclosed area, the games, the food, all of the details that goes into planning an event were just perfect. BUT, all of the success was undoubtedly as a result of our amazing party planner, Gigi. She was SO helpful in walking us through all of the options, making recommendations, and making sure that our event went smoothly. I really appreciated her being so flexible and patient with us as we navigated through all the "what ifs" of our first annual picnic. This is our second year in a row working with Team Play for our company picnic, and they are really the best. They're open to any idea you may have and they take care of all of the tedious details like permits and insurance . They even got us on Will Rogers beach two years running, which is no small feat. Mariana, our event sales manager (Party Planner essentially) was extremely flexible and was always willing to look into every little question I had. She made planning a breeze. Melinda was our event manager onsite and she is a rock star. She was totally game for anything we threw at her, always on top of everything and completely accessible through the whole party. This is the second year we've had her as our event manager and it's the second year she's knocked it out of the park. The food was excellent. I highly recommend the Mexican buffet with carne asada and chicken. I had several people mention to me how much they enjoyed it Now we come to the price. Personally, I feel like the prices for their equipment rentals and planning services are very fair. All of their equipment is clean, well functioning and well managed. Their onsite staff are always polite and fun and, as I mentioned they take care of all the nitty-gritty parts of party planning. The only thing that brought our price up was the cost of the location we chose to have our party, which is totally out of their control. All in all it was a wonderful experience twice in a row and I highly recommend Team Play to anyone who's planning a party. read more

Recently my wife and I had a birthday party for my daughter and Team Play provided some entertainment for the party. We have a big back yard and we ordered a big tree house slide and a foam canon. I would have given the company a 5 stars except I found the prices to on the high side although I must say the inflatable tree house slide was really terrific. This may be a case where you get what you pay for. Anyways, if you are looking for some fun stuff for a party you might want to check them out. read more

The management was helpful with saving some money from last minute changes. The venue is beautiful with large trees and there is plenty to keep guests busy. I guess if you're one of their clients they are nice to you but if you happen to be in the same vicinity but not one of their guests, watch out for their event manager. She's rude! If you're going to do business with Team Play Events, don't be surprised if you become affiliated with how rude they are to others. I was unfortunate enough to have reserved a space near them at Huntington State Beach on August 20, 2016. Even though we reserved 3 pavilions and they only reserved one, they took over the whole area. Their staff was inconsiderate of other beachgoers. Their event manager insinuated that the entire area around the reserved pavilion was supposed to be available for their exclusive use, including the area other people were already in before they arrived and started setting up equipment. The manager threatened to call lifeguards on some family who was already set up for the day. I sat there and watched her argue with the woman and that woman would not back down. It was hilarious. The event manager was an idiot. Their staff blocked the ADA Pathways with carts & equipment. They set up a large cooking area directly adjacent to the pathway which created a hazard for people walking with small kids. They had a water balloon fight on the beach and left pieces of balloon everywhere. I spent 15 minutes picking up after their event, everything from beach toys to small plastic toys to food wrapper and pieces of BALLOONS. Balloons aren't even permitted on the beach! What kind of second rate event company doesn't even know the rules and regulations of the places where they host an event. I called the HB State Beach coordinator to complain as well. I hope they don't ever let these people hold an event on the beach ever again! read more

Awful! 6-days before our annual corporate event, Team Play sent us an email to share that our location at the beach was no longer available. They confirmed with us on July 24th and now am going back on their word. We have over 120 employees who have RSVP'ed to the event along with some leadership flying in. We are completely disappointed and will not use them again. read more
