*WARNING!!-LONG READ!!*…read more I bought my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Trotter in El Dorado. When I originally bought the vehicle, they took my Cadillac for a test drive as a trade in. They ended up leaving my key fob sitting on top of the car, and when homeboy whipped it around going down the road, the key fob was lost. After me and, what seemed to be, the entire staff walking down the road in pouring down rain, my key fob was then found completely ran over. With that being said, they supplied legal tint on my Jeep as a "Sorry." Cool. But there's more. A couple years down the road. I haven't had a single problem with my Jeep. Until: *August 2022: Went to town one day and when I went to get in my vehicle to leave, it wouldn't start. (Push Start, mind you.) It would turn over, not crank, but then wouldn't shut off. It just stayed "running," but then eventually kick off. I get it towed to the dealership being that's where I bought it from. *September-ish 2022: They told me it was the ECM. Bought one. Didn't fix it. (Reimbursed.) *October-ish 2022: They told me it was the Starter. Bought one. Didn't fix it. (Not reimbursed.) *November-ish 2022: They told me it was a head gasket. Bought one. Didn't fix it. (Mostly reimbursed.) *December-ish 2022-February 2023: They then tell me my motor has a "bent rod." Want me to pay $5,400 for the motor that is on back order with no tracking or estimated shipping/delivery. Somewhere along the way, they also fixed my hydraulic control module, because my brake lights stayed on. This has a recall. But I can't seem to get Chrysler to claim it? Anyway. I never gave Trotter the indication to fix this. They fixed it anyway, thanks. So I thought? Nope. Bought it. (Not reimbursed.) They also let my batteries completely deplete while they had my vehicle. Bought them. (Not reimbursed.) Meanwhile, they've had my vehicle sitting outside. With the window down. With plastic taped around it. Went by to pay my ridiculous $1,500 for parts and labor that didn't fix a single thing, to find my carpet on the floorboards to be soaking wet from all the rain. (Thanks for the mildew now setting in, I appreciate that.) Trotter has had my vehicle 7 months. SEVEN. MONTHS. To go from something electrical to mechanical and it still not working. (Oh, did I mention that their technicians don't know what they're doing? They called in a "retired certified Chrysler expert" to work on my Jeep. Anddddd. Here we are.) Like I said. Long story long. We paid that outrageous $1,500 and I'm taking my vehicle to a local mechanic shop. And before they get on here in their defense, I have recorded every conversation I've had with the Service Manager (Jeremy) and General Manager (Kirk) the past two months pertaining to my Jeep. Conversations where they have given me the run around, conversations where they have contradicted each other, and conversations where "they lied to the owner (Trotter) on behalf of the loaner I was driving" before they demanded it back. (I got the loaner approximately THREE months AFTER them having my Jeep.) I've been paying a Jeep note for the last seven months, and now expected to pay for a rental on top of my Jeep note, because even though, and I quote, "it's completely their fault for misdiagnosing everything for months, I can't have the loaner forever." But having my Jeep forever seems to be okay.. Here's the humor: Offered me $10,000 for my Jeep without the motor. Offered me $16,000 for my Jeep after I buy the motor. (Remember that $5,400 motor? Yeah. So basically still only $10,000 for my Jeep, right? They ain't slick. Only slick enough to get $1,500 in labor on nothing from me.) Take it for what you will. But I guarantee you, I'll have my Jeep up and running within the next month or two now that I'm getting away from this horrifying place. (Service Manager asked three times who I was taking my Jeep to. I never told him. Said he would have my Jeep put back together for us to come pick up by the end of this week. Explain to me why I still had parts sitting on a pallet beside my vehicle? That place is SORRY.) Big Shout Out to my Husband and our very good friends Michael and BJ for making the trip and taking the time to go retrieve my Jeep from that place. Y'all are the real MVP's. *Disclaimer-More horror stories in the comments on their Facebook page!*

Billy Wood Honda in Eldorado has given me the worse experience in car buying, I came in looking for…read morea Honda, I found one I loved, payed on it and traded my old car in. First issue was that they needed to make sure Honda had inspections done so they put me in a temporary truck until it was ready, 2 weeks later when I went back for my Honda I was put in a Lexis and was told again Honda wasn't ready, mind you gas high on a Lexis!!! So I drove it for a few weeks, I come back and now I'm being told that my Honda had been sold by other staff, and they have nothing in the same price range as that Honda at the time, but to give it a few days and they'll find me something. A weeks later they put me in a Nissan, now I should've known then something wasn't right cause when I got it the window was broken and I had to take it back to get fixed. I haven't had this car a full 3 years and my transmission is slipping, not to mention the servicing we've had to do on it since we got it. So I got a call a month ago asking if I wanted to do a trade in, after speaking with not one but two employees I find out that the 20% interest rate they put on that car was ridiculous!!! Both appearing shocked to see that my interest rate was 20% and made it clear that I could've been helped better. But wait here is the kicker, Billy Wood sells Hondas across the street they sell Nissan if I wanted a Nissan I could've went to the main man!! Why would I come to Honda so they could sell me what the man across the street could've sold me and gave me more info on. Needless to say we didn't do a trade in because that to felt like all they cared about was getting all the money they could not actually caring about putting me in a good vehicle I could rely on.

They will tell you everything is good on these cars, and once you have sealed a deal, you find out they are a piece of junk. Against my better judgement, My daughter bought a car from them. She dealt with Tim Wells. He told her he was going to get her in a nice car within her budget . I kept telling my daughter due to my experience and my niece's, ( Whole other issue), that if you bought anything to make sure that they run a diagnosis on the car. She had me on speaker the whole time she was dealing with him, and he reassured her and I that he would take care of it. He even kept the car for an additional 24 hours after she purchased it.... Well the very next week. The cars started knocking, you could smell the burning of oil on the motor. She took it back to them, they first was try to charge the diagnostic fee, and explained to her that the warranty clause was, which was if it was covered they would fix it and she pay $100, if not she owed the $150 for the diagnostic fee. She was devastated. They didn't want to give her a rental, and she called me, and I had to let the know about the stated lemon law in which they told there wasn't one. Fast forward. They ended up getting her a rental. They told her they were trying to work with the warranty people to get it fixed. Well 3 weeks later. She ended up with no car. All she wanted was a reliable vehicle to get her around and to her clinicals. When she asked to be placed in something else on their lot. It Seems EVERY CAR they had on the lot had major issues, or had been sold. But yet you continue to advertise the cars like there is nothing wrong. So I did some shopping and found her a car on another one of their lots that seemed be pretty decent...when we called about the car, was available but being shown... When we called and asked the GM who she had been working with, immediately told my daughter that car was sold the day before......huh? So at that point let me know that they just no longer wanted to do business with her and to get her out of the way. So she ended up getting her money back and her trade in, but now it looks like she defaulted on a loan that never went through and it is on her credit. Please be aware.

Called to check on my vehicle 12/14/2024 (Saturday). Person who answer the phone said, he was an oil guy and they were short staffed. He said, he didn't have an idea what I was talking about. I called back on 12/17/2024. Was told that the service person had to check with the technician and they would get back with me, they never did. Sent a text to a number on their website on 12/18/2024, miraculously received a call within an hour that my truck was ready. Received another call thirty minutes later from another person saying my truck was ready, again. Went to pick my truck up, got in my truck to leave, check engine light still on. Took my vehicle to another Karl Malone dealership next door. Ask if they could run a quick scan for an error code. Basically was told that they didn't have time. My advice is, if you are buying a vehicle form Karl Malone, check their service department first. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Total lack of communication.
