We grabbed it, to bring to a big dinner gathering. We knew it was serious when we picked it up - it was a hefty pie! When we cut into it, it was juicy & there was minimal crust - in a really good way. Like a cobbler. So much sweet strawberry filling! The streusel topping was perfectly slightly salty, to balance out the sweet strawberries. And cinnamony. DELICIOUS!! Everyone loved it. I would bet that any pie they bring to the farmers market is fantastic. GET IT.

I looked up some reviews and LynOaken was highly recommended and offered a lot of varieties. A huge bonus was that there was a winery next door! I called in advance to see what the U-pick varieties were for the date I was looking to go because all the varieties are not ready to be picked at once. This year they had an online reservation system set up due to the pandemic. $7 included parking and a small bag of non specialty apples. You could buy more u-pick or prepicked apples on site. When you arrive there is a super cute country store set up with pre picked apples, cider, baked goods, vegetables and other treats. Once you check in there are wagons you can use to lug apples or transport kids which was a nice bonus. The area is large but not too spread out so it's nice to take a family and kids can't go too far. The staff is helpful and knows a lot about their products. Delicious and fresh apples and very clean and well run place. The winery, Leonard Oakes Estates, next door also had outdoor seating. I think there was indoor as well if you wanted. $10 got you 3 generous tastings and an ample choice of charcuterie, nuts, etc. There were a lot of tasty wine and ciders to choose from. Overall a fun day with tons of yummy options to choose from.

I've been picking blueberries at Russels U pick for like 15 or 20 years. We always enjoyed a day…read moreout amongst nature picking the most delicious blueberries . We had a beagle named Suzue for a number of years that came with us to the field as she was a lover of blueberries. Dwight the guy who runs the U Pick has worked there since 2012 I believe. He also had a beagle that always enjoyed seeing our Suzie. Suzie died several years back so we stopped going to the blueberry field . We were not far from the field today so I suggested to my wife we should go pick so we went. It was cathartic to be there even if we didn't pick much about 9 lbs. we always picked about 40 lbs years ago. These days were older and not as socially active so not giving away bags of berries any longer. I would suggest anyone who loves being around nature maybe that has pets, children or folks that want to enjoy a day out it would be a great memory. I've brought dozens of people there over the years and its always been such an enjoyable day for them . There was a Baehrs custard stand down the road but I think they've closed since the economy is tanking like so many small businesses these days. Just take a drive out to Appleton at Russels Blueberry patch and have a great time you won't regret it. Remember the fields closing for the year soon so get out there . Its seasonal. The original location has been open for 10 years, with the second location ( The Buffalo Cider Hall) within the last three years. If your into hard cider and looking to try different kinds; recommend the flight of 4. I tried a small size of Lakeside Loganberry,Ghost Lantern, and Redbarn Sweet cider. The original location has 40 acre orchard, tasting room, production and outside sitting area. Their wide variety of flavors are sure to please all. The cider can be found at Wegmans, Consumer Sqaure, their locations to name a few, and they do ship as well. Well worth checking out, for all the cider lovers.
