To be fair most of the individual instructors were kind and helpful, but the administration, communication and the driving test process could not have been worse. BEWARE! My daughter completed all of her driving lessons (despite the difficulty with scheduling). We had a driver's exam scheduled for Jan 24. I emailed several times the week before and left a voicemail asking for confirmation and logistics (it is impossible to contact anyone by phone). Finally, the afternoon before, after even more frantic escalations on my end, I get a 1-line email saying that she needed 21 days between the last lesson and exam and she wasn't on the list for the weekend. To be clear, TDA emailed us on January 2 offering to schedule her for January 24, even though she had 2 lessons left. We accepted that date for her exam. Not only did they never tell us about the 21-days in these emails, but they also knowingly didn't apply their own supposed rule. They never responded to my emails the week of the test to notify us that she wasn't able to take it. Nor have they responded to my multiple follow up emails asking for someone to call me. Nor have they given us a new exam date. Instead, they have taken our money, including the exam fee, and have been radio silent. I encourage you to look at these and the BBB reviews. I have submitted a BBB complaint, but they haven't posted it yet (and may not post all complaints). If I could give ZERO stars I would. I wish I had read the reviews before giving these people a penny. They take your money then play a video for the whole class. There is no instructor speaking and teaching or giving any lessons. They hit play and thats it. Then when your child finishes their classroom hours and gets their permit, you can not get an appointment for driving hours. It would take years to get in the hours they need in order to complete and get their license. They are awful!!!!! As of now its 3 months out at least for a driving appointment. How is this legal?? Do not use TDA!!! It's difficult to schedule driving hours for your child and their customer service is awful!!!They also try to charge you for their "free" parent class if you don't use them for all your children. I asked them for the signed certificate after I took the class (it's good for 5 years) so I didn't have to take it again for my younger child. My younger daughter asked to use a different driving school, since she wanted to take classes with her friends. They would not give me the signed certificate unless I paid them since we were not using TDA the second time around. read more

I never do these reviews but I felt I needed to so others steer clear of this business. If I could have given zero stars I would have. The online classes my child took were ok but most kids were asleep in their bed while on zoom. After the online classes were over I tried to schedule lessons for months and kept being told I would get an email when they opened. I only ever got one or two email lessons opened ( two options during school hours) from June until November. If you want to speak to a live person you never will be able to as they never answer the phone. I emailed asking about lessons again this week and was told they booked me a date and to confirm. I explained there was no date booked, asked them to confirm they had the right student, and asked three times for someone to call. The person refused to call and kept emailing back and fourth over fifteen times in a span of a few hours. I received no resolution until I stated I wanted a refund and requested a transfer. All of a sudden I received a phone call apologizing because she had the wrong student the entire time. The easiest part of this entire experience was getting my refund within a couple of days. Horrible experience with driving lessons. There are no in-car lessons available! My daughter got her permit in March 2024 and couldn't get her first lesson until May! Her next lesson was in September. Horrible service, not responsive to emails or voicemails. I switched her to another school to finish her lessons and it was the best move I made. The worse place ever to send your child for driving lessons. Especially in car driving lessons. They don't have available spots for you to pick up. Then they add hours that they know you can't do because you give them your schedule in advance. They keep sending texts messages to go online to pick spots when they know that they have two or one spots only. They send multiple people at the same time to go fight for that spot. In the end your child end up doing months taking in driving lessons. They have the worse customer service. It took days for them to get back to you. Please avoid this company at all costs. Communication is terrible and scheduling is a nightmare. After having one child attend I knew there was no way my second would. Contacted TDA to get a copy of Parent Certificate to show to the new driving school so I don't have to attend the parent class again and they want to charge me $26.50 to provide this. I understand this charge if the student changes school mid-session, but my child completed the training and we paid all the required fees. There is no reason they shouldn't provide a copy of a Parent Certificate free of charge. read more

Sent my daughter here for lessons about two years ago -- still hearing people complain about this place today, so I figured I would do a write up on it. If you are looking to get your license, you are looking in the wrong place. TDA is a company filled with older and retired men and women after your money. Throughout the times my daughter completed the lessons, they were always searching for extra money that I had already paid them. As soon as you get in the car you are asked about your form of payment, I suggest checks because then they won't lose all your information... if you're lucky. My daughter also found them to be very rude, especially the older men. They would sit on their phones, yell at the kids, ask them personal questions, it was very unprofessional and uncomfortable for my daughter. She maybe had two instructors that actually wanted to help her learn how to drive and who were very nice to her. On her first ever road lesson, she was taken on the highway. She had absolutely NO driving experience whatsoever, and the instructor yelled at her the entire time. They were also almost ALWAYS late, but somehow my daughter managed to get home on time every time. What they don't tell you is that they go all over Massachusetts. From Taunton to Fall River -- to sometimes even further. So easily, your "hour session" could turn into two hours and not be accounted for!!!!!!! WHAT A RIP OFF! My daughter failed her test after taking it through TDA, but passed instantly with a local DMV. Honestly either find a better company or wait until your kid is 18. This isn't worth the time or the price. Stop paying these old rude retired people! Save your money for something worth it! read more

I have never even heard of this place until I was the unfortunate car behind a student driver. I am a palled to report that the driving instructor allowed a student driver to go between 15 and 20 miles an hour under the speed limit on a main road during a somewhat busy time of day. The driver was obviously very nervous and did not trust the instructor when he or she needed to pass a mail truck. I feel bad for the kid driving, Learning to drive is both scary and amazing, the experience should not be ruined or made worse just because the instructor has not had good enough training. read more

They rescheduled my son's RMV test without any reason after having it on the calendar for 5 1/2 months. Terrible in all ways, the classes to get your permit will result and 5 minutes of study, the "teachers" then playing a movie that has nothing to do with the lesson. They are also very unfriendly to learning disabilities, ADHD, anxiety or anyone who is non neurotypical , afterwords the actual driving lessons, are instructed by people who are very hostile, they teach outdated rules, and will NEVER arrive on time, I once wated 2 hours for my instructor to arrive when I questioned an instructor about it he snapped at me. The road test is a joke, they will take anything you say personally and this will affect how the administer the test. In my case after one complaint they took me on a different test route in order to throw me off. Stay as far away from this company as humanly possible. Yes, they explain to you their portal booking system which at the time sounds like a great and easy way to book lessons. What they neglect to tell you is that there are never any appointments available to book, except of course during the middle of the school day during school sessions. The office manager Melissa is exceptionally rude and condescending when you actually can get someone on the phone and refuses to assist. We paid for all lessons up front and in full, and still can not book lessons for that my son can actually attended without missing school. Her only suggestion is to "continually check their portal for openings". With no set date/time that they upload their availability they are expecting the kids to continually log in to their portal in hopes to get a lesson.... That was already paid for. It is an unnecessary stress for high school age kids who already have enough stress on them. Do yourself and your child a favor and hire a different driving school. I love how when you try to book a lesson they make you pay in advance only to see that all of the lessons are booked solid. So when $600 dollars is deducted from you bank account, they have your money and you get nothing out of it but stress and sadness with no lessons booked. What a depressing experience. They seem to be the only game in town but they are not. Scheduling with this driving school is pretty much impossible. You can't do it over the phone, it's strictly online, and the scheduling books only open on the 15th of each month (for next month). So you basically have one day a month to schedule you classes. I thought having the ability to schedule online was a positive thing......boy was I wrong!!! Last month the available classes made available on June 15th were gone by about 9:30am. If you get in, you feel like you got the golden ticket to even be able to grab a class. Today (July 15th), a day you're supposed to be able to schedule, you can't even access the scheduler at the time of this note. It is extremely frustrating. When I was exploring potential driving schools and called here I was told there are always classes available. I think that is absolutely incorrect. You literally have to go into their scheduler everyday to see if something became available. Between me and my daughter checking practically everyday mid June to July we were not able to add a single lesson. Save yourself some aggravation. Go someplace else. My daughter has been pleased with her instructors/lessons to date. It's unfortunate that the quality of the instruction can't take top billing in light of the fact of the frustration tied to even trying to get a lesson scheduled! Ok...so my son goes schedule another driving session, finds a balance of $75, so I call and spke to a rep. and she says she sees only (7) payments made thats what the balance is from. So I disagreed, for I keep my receipts and we have (8) + the initial registration payment that was made, she provides email to send this receipes, I send them (3) days later I finally get an email that the balance has been removed and his account adjusted. Well since then my son has been have trouble login into his account and we find our zip code changed from our town to another town, he emails them and he figures out how to fix that issue. Then today (11/7//18) my son can get in his account to set up a session. So I call the TDA office asked for help, I was hold then some rude women gets on the phone, just seeming as if she is mad, yelling that there is a balance of $20 (now $20) supposely since Sept. I told her if there is balance I have no problem paying for what we actually owe. And she continue to yell at me "WELL THERE IS A BALANCE", got me upset and mad that my tone became louder and I advised her I will pay the whole thing off to get this out the way!
