Stepping in through the front door I was pleasantly surprised at all the gorgeously hand painted teacups, antique jewelry and crafts that were gently priced. The moment you enter the large dining area where my two friends and I were seated, we felt like we were transported into the Victorian Era. Besides a variety of teas, the Tea Room at Cauley Square provided extensive breakfast and lunch menus to choose from. The creamy spinach soup was delicious and our entrees were perfectly seasoned and oh, so good! Our server was friendly and offered to take our picture which was nice. After lunch, we strolled down Cauley Square visiting the craft shops filled with handmade jewelry, macrame/embroidered suncatchers and so much more. Another visit, this time for high tea. You have to pre order it. We did, and it was delightful. Service was efficient and friendly. Everything we sampled we enjoyed. We did however not particularly like the chocolate chip scone. Normally scones are pretty plain as you add butter, jam, clotted cream to them (I am English, so should know). This was more like a cake. The mini sandwiches were on point. You also get to choose a tea of your choice which they bring in your own tea pot. I tried a lavender, one which I really enjoyed. I wish they had asked if we would like some more hot water to top up the pot. If you want a decadent treat, English style, I would recommend. read more

I did not plan to go when I did s I was a bit disappointed that the wait was 50mins but they were so nice, since it was just me, I got a table in 20mins. Not only that, I wanted the afternoon tea and was heartbroken when the server told me I needed a reservation for tea! But he asked and I was able to get it. It was meant to be! Oh my God so freaking cute. What a great experience. Service was great. The kids loved it. We got the priest set menu and honestly, it brought a good amount of everything. Just make sure that when you order the tea you tell them what you like cause then they'll be able to educate you on what to get. The good thing is that they had honey and it really helped with the tea. The entire setting of it is very old school tea house, which is amazing because you don't get that feeling in any other place in Miami. This quaint tea room has been around forever, & I've always wanted to go but waited to celebrate a moment with my daughter as part of her birthday gift. Famous for their tea sandwiches on the middle tier of cucumber, salmon/cream cheese, vegetable/feta wrap, chicken salad, & prosciutto/cheese sandwiches all tasty and great. This spice girl needed some island pepper sauce to add to some. Top tier had cheesecakes, banana walnut cake, & macaroons. Bottom tier had scones of blueberry and cinnamon with butter and not clotted cream ( traditional for an English tea time.) I had heard about their onion soup and it did not disappoint and was really reasonable. There were young and elderly patrons, single diners, medium to larger groups for the lunch hour and they had a lunch menu which looked enticing and definitely looked like I needed to go back just for that, with a variety. This changes based on supply and local sourcing. The decor was a little overloaded and my daughter did mention that if they had porcelain dolls in laced dresses she would feel a movie coming to life and bring the creepy out. I say it's quaint with the variety of tea pots, plates and cups available for purchase as well as other items around the 4 rooms. This place is wonderful, I went for my daughter's birthday party today. First of all, the location is beautiful and very special -- tea cups and old antiques are everywhere on the walls. The service was great, our food came out before our drinks did and that was unusual. I had the Eggs Benedict with Nova Scotia and grits (mixed with cheddar). For some reason, they gave me extra big bowl of grits. It was almost uncomfortably big but isn't enough of a reason to bump down the rating or anything. Booked for my birthday tea and I must say the reservation process is less than ideal. For a group of 12, you must pay $15pp on one card and the remainder is paid day of. That meant, I paid for my whole party and then had to collect payment from them. Not fun for the birthday girl. The holiday afternoon tea was lovely although the service could have been quicker and more hands on. Many of us would have liked to have had hot water refilled but didn't. The pastries and sandwiches on the tower were very tasty. My tea was also very yummy. The interior is charming. Despite arriving with a large party of nine, the service was surprisingly good, which was impressive given our group size. My son had the kids' pancake, which was enormous--he had plenty of leftovers, and it also came with a side of potatoes. I have been coming here for years. I love this place! It is wayyy down south, but it is well worth the drive. Parking is available on the street for free, and I can usually find a spot on the main street by being patient. If not, there is parking in a separate lot down the block. My favorite teas are the Wedding Blend and the Magicienne. The Spice tea is great when it is a big cooler outside. I order the vegetarian high tea with the soup and quiche. Their soups are always delicious. Even though I don't normally get excited over a lentil soup, they have one of the best I've tried. My husband and friends, who are not vegetarian, often order the French onion soup, which is covered in delicious gooey cheese. As you can see in these photos, they often change things up, especially with the desserts. I've never been disappointed. My favorite is probably the key lime pie desserts they have. The ingredients feel fresh and like they were prepared with care. For the afternoon and high tea services, you have to make the reservation 24 hours in advance with their online form, which is not the easiest to fill out. If they made it a fill-in-the-blank PDF, this would make it much easier to navigate. Even though the new requirement of putting down a credit card for the service can be a hassle, it is well worth it for their tea services. We've seen it grow in popularity in the last few years, so it makes sense. Even if we've had to wait an hour or so to be seated, Cauley Square is a cute place to wander through the outdoorsy areas or the local shops. It can be hectic in the front of the restaurant, but once you sit down, the servers are been sweet and accommodating. read more

Stopped by the Tea Room today for a double date brunch with some good friends of ours and all 4 of us loved it! Cauley Square is hidden away, blink and you'll miss it. However, it is so picturesque, cozy and absolutely beautiful (although parking is challenging). Our service was friendly from start to finish, especially the waitress who was knowledgeable and recommended several options, as it was the first time for all 4 of us. The food was impeccable! All plates had immense portions and they were all flavorful and freshly made. I highly recommend the French Onion soup, it was everyone's favorite. I had the Greek salad with shrimp, which was one of the lunch specials. My guest sampled the soup of the day (lentil) and the quiche lorraine. She reported that both were pleasant savory sensations. Of course, we also had some freshly brewed tea. I want to return to try the tea service. It's the only one you can find in Miami that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Opened the December season with Holiday High Tea at the Tea Room at Cauley Square - what a lovely way to bring in the holiday season! First, the Tea Room is beautifully decorated with so many vintage decor pieces, you really feel transported somewhere else. Natalie was lovely and introduced us to the full tea menu, giving us lots of good tips and insights on the menu. Adding on a soup was an add-on option and great for really cold day we went on - I added the delicious lobster bisque soup for just $3-4 dollars more. The 3-tier presentation of pastries and sandwiches was not only beautiful but also so delicious and very filling - we took many of the desserts on the top layer home. Everything was amazing but I couldn't get the potato, chive and cheese quiche out of my head - so delicious! Other standouts were the prosciutto sandwich, seafood sandwich, cucumber sandwich, pavlova with peppermint filing and the scones were top-notch.
