I have been a long time Tea Madame customer, and the quality is just as high as when I first purchased from the shop 15 years ago! The shop is full of great blends and the aroma is to die for. After moving to Chicago, this is still my go to place for tea. Prices here are too high, the quality is blah and they just don't have the same variety as this shop. we have tried many of their flavors. I can honestly say, with the exception of an almond black tea I love every single one of them recently bought the new grape crush and strawberry jam. On the quest for the perfect cup of tea I decided to try the Tea Madame. It was a bit of a drive from Seattle to Auburn but I have been wanting to try this place. When you arrive you will see that it is not visible from the road. You will see the Windmill Gardens and Nursery, turn in there and park. You will see a cafe as you turn in on your left. If you go a little further down you will see the Tea Madame! As you approach the shop it looks like something out of a storybook. There are lots of plants and vines growing. A very nice setting. As you enter you are greeted by a very friendly young woman who really knows her teas! She is friendly and professional and was very kind to me. I loved looking at all the different types of teas but I was a bit disappointed that they do not sell pots or cups of tea to consume there. There isn't the room but the property is beautiful. This is the reason I gave 4 stars and not 5. The woman at the shop was so nice to me when she saw I was a bit saddened that they didn't sell cups of tea so she gave me a free 8oz cup of the sample tea they had which was very nice! I will definitely be back to get some tea here! read more

I love this store (Sumner)!!!! I live out of town but have family in the area so stumbled into this gem. My first purchase was the Gold Mountain Spice, amazing tea. Taste like it is sweetened with something but it's not. Recently went in town so wanted to expand my tea stash. Autumn was the employee working that day, what a ray of sunshine! She was knowledgeable, friendly and just all around wonderful! This is the kind of employee owners dream of. I bought several teas and am excited to try them. read more

I have a hard time ever finding a good tea but when this place opened I was in tea heaven. They don't do that bottom of the barrel bagged tea; they have high grade loose leaf tea. And let me tell you it is to die for. They have huge selections of white, green, black, rooibus, and herbal teas. They have a taste for everyone. They also have cute little tea sets and tea pots. And if you want your loose tea on the go they have various tea tumblers. All and all this is a lovely place. Even if you aren't a fan of tea you will surely find something here. read more

Had been looking for a great place for loose leaf tea besides Teavana at the mall. Tea Madame has an large and excellent selection of loose leaf teas, herbal infusions, Rooibos, and Pu-erh teas. I found myself wanting to pull multiple canisters to package up. The girl who helped me gave me some education on the difference between actual tea and herbal and answered my questions about decaffeinated vs. caffeine free. She also gave me information on steeping green tea to avoid a bitter flavor. When I asked about tea that is good for nausea she pointed out the large selection of Rooibos which is supposed to be good for upset stomach and heartburn and is ok for pregnancy. You can bring in your own tins and get a discount. They have steeping instructions for all the teas and placed printed labels on your packs of tea. The cost for mine varied from $2.95-$3.95 an ounce, which I think is a decent price. Will definitely go back once I finish up my current stash. =) read more

Best place around for a large variety of lose leaf tea. Tea tasting classes offered. Friendly staff. Really quaint place. It's a bit out of the way for folks off the I-5 but it's worth it. I usually stock up when I go so I don't have to go back every other week. I'm there probably emery other month and spend around 20 - 50, depending on my tea mood and previous two months quantity consumed. The owner seems to care about the product she sells as some teas are blended in house and are her own creation. She's tastes any new tea or tea that has been out of commission for a while before selling it. My favorite tea place. After my regular tea shop raised their prices, a friend of mine told me to check this place out. I was thoroughly impressed! I'm not quite sure what some of the other reviewers could have possibly found to complain about. The blonde girl I spoke to, Ashley, knew so much about tea, I was absolutely blown away. It turns out that the owner is a certified teacher when it comes to tea, and that the two managers for her stores (Ashley and a blonde girl who's in charge of the store's other location) are students of the specialty tea institute. The tea was amazing. Almost half of the price of my old favorite store, the jasmine pearls are definitely the best out there. And the sample at the front door? Incredible! It tastes like Christmas in a cup! I'm never going back to my old tea store, not when somewhere this great is just as far from my house. read more

Last Saturday I visited this shop and had great service. I walked in trying to find some tea for a Mother's Day present. I don't know the first thing about tea. Luckily I was helped by two young ladies. I tend to be very awkward but these helpful women didn't ostrasize me but were very welcoming. Excellent tea; lousy customer service. We bought a large bag of cinnamon spiced tea which we'd had before, and this bag had very little cinnamon in it. We returned to the store, asked for a different batch, and the owner spent the next 10 minutes making us wrong. We had not asked for a refund, simply a replacement; ultimately (something to the effect of "I never replace tea") she did relent, but we left the store having had a bad experience. I had to go for a visit based on the reviews. I do love my teas!! The tea shop is located within the Windmill Gardens. You have to enter through the Gardens parking lot. There are enough parking stalls on the lot. As you're facing the Gardens Shops, Tea Madame Tea Shop is to your left. It's a quaint tea shop that sells a variety of loose leaf teas, honey, and an assortment of tea accessories and tea pots. I would have given them 5 stars but they didn't have any tea tasting. I'm blindly buying their teas without knowing how they taste. The girls who worked at the shop were very friendly and were also eager to answer any and all of your questions to the best of their knowledge. I asked about a tea infuser that was behind the counter and one of the girls took the time to show me how it works. Their prices are actually reasonable. I was also told to feel free to open the canisters to smell the tea, which I thought was nice. I only ended up purchasing an ounce of two types of teas to taste and also purchased a one cup tea infuser. As I'm writing this review, I'm having the Hazelnut Toffee Black Tea. I'm not usually one for blended teas but this one is decent in tatste. The two teas I had purchased are both crushed tea leaves. Its a bit disappointing as I have a preference for whole or bigger tea leaves. read more

We have a B&B not far from the Sumner store, A View With A Room, and we serve tea from Tea Madame exclusively! It is so much fun to wow a customer with Coconut Pouchong or Cream Earl Grey when they are only used to Lipton! Ladonna and her staff know more about tea than you could imagine and are willing to share. Stop by and see them at the shop, at the farmers' market in Puyallup or Western WA State Fair in the Expo building! You will be amazed! read more

The selection of fabulous teas here will please the pickiest of tea aficionados, even when looking for tisanes, de-caffeinated, or what have you. They have a nice selection of tea related things as well, including cups and infusion supplies. I used to travel to the crazy mall to Teavanna for loose leaf, but going to meander through windmill nursery to this place is so much better! Plan on browsing many tins and taking home affordable little ounce bags to find your favorite. I accidentally became known as the "tea dealer" at work because of this! But that's OK; Tea is best shared, and with wonderful friends it might as well be fabulous tea, right? read more

I love shopping at the Tea Madame! I go there whenever I am in the area (I live in another state), and hope that my (large) purchases will last until my next visit. I have my favorite 'infusion', but always seem to go away with at least one or two new choices to try. LaDonna is a wealth of information and makes each visit fun and pleasant.
