3 stars for coffee and 5 for service so I settled on 4 stars. The coffee was so watered down and weak in flavor. To be fair, it is a tea house so maybe improve coffee or ditch altogether? The inside is so adorable. My favorite were the gratitude journals where anyone can express their gratitude. The cukoo clocks were super cool.

This is the cutest little tea gem in Kona! Perfect place to unwind with delicious desserts and tea. No Wi-Fi, so choose to drink tea with your thoughts, read, or bring a friend/date to enjoy with. They have a large selection of teas to choose from, coffee, desserts, breakfast, lunch items. Service was quick and friendly. Ambiance is definitely on point with Victorian style decorations. My favorite dessert was definitely the Portuguese tart. That crackly top was so great to bite into. We got one of their local teas grown on Big Island. Even comes with some honey and milk to add! There's free parking outside too! Will definitely be back next time I'm in Kona :)

What a feast! The breakfast was enough to feed two people and came with orange juice as well! Their coffee and pastries are also amazing.

Great food and quaint decor. Staff were friendly and helpful at answering questions. The AC is cold and they have lots of books to enjoy while you are there as well as coloring books.

Super cute cafe - and delicious food! Can't get over the hats on our eggs. Service was kind and laid back. This is the kind of place you can spend an hour at to clear your head, just breathing and sipping your drink. They were playing holiday music too!

    boba tea

Gave me a normal straw and a spoon for a drink with boba. According to an employee, the owner doesn't order items until they are completely out, it's ridiculous.

Ham croissant, iced latte, hot coffee

This place was really cute. We got a hot coffee and an iced latte. My iced latte was more like an iced coffee with a lot of milk. The employees were really nice.

I don't know where the people whose reviews mentioned poor service are coming from. I have NEVER experienced that here, & I come almost every year. I was there this morning and, as always in my experience, it was a little oasis of calm civility & wonderful food & ambiance. They were busy, but everyone was prompt, polite, cheerful & accurate with my order (which was eat in and take out. All I can say is go, you won't be sorry!

Such a great spot by our hotel! We searched for coffee and this place was a short walk away. It's in a little shopping plaza at the corner. Cute decor. Out front is a small shaded seating area. Inside are several lovely spots to sit and relax. There's also tea for sale and cute pottery items. We got the matcha latte with honey and an iced kona coffee with oat milk. Very good quality. The girl who served us was so nice and helped with our order since it was our first time there. There's a gratitude journal at front table - love the personal touches.

Beautiful place. Incredibly friendly staff. It was packed, but as soon as someone got up, she said, "There's a spot over there!" How observant and helpful!!!! I had the fog cinnamon Chai tea, which was excellent, the ham and cheese on a croissant (life changing), and the desert fruit roll with whipped cream. I probably won't do the desert next time, but I'm definitely coming back for another Chai tea and ham and cheese. Yum!!!!! 10/10

Nicely little cozy cafe with lots of pastry and tea options, with some coffee and food options. We would have come to try more items, but the parking lot was basically full and the inside of the store was full as well, so we just ordered two pastries to go. Would have loved to come back to sit down and try their tea set, but alas that will have to be for another time. We got the swiss roll with mixed berries fixed with whipped cream, and the portuguese tart. Both were very delicious pastries and well worth it. The swiss roll was super fresh and light. The portguese tart had a crunchy and flaky exterior but nice and smooth inside. Staff was very friendly, though a bit distracted by the number of guests. Parking lot here was very very tight even for sedans, so not the easiest place to visit, and they were super busy in the morning. Still a cute cafe though that many seem to enjoy.

What a gem. Perfect spot for coffee and the best almond croissant. German breakfast was a first for us. Great service.

Such a lovely place to have a coffee and get a pastry. I am half German and lots of things to remind me of Germany.

Do the sell individual slices of cake?

I've tried to come by this place 5 times in the past 2 weeks. Always closed when I arrive. When exactly are you open?

Normal hours are 6am-4pm. But if in doubt, just call them and confirm they are there and open. Much easier to make a phone call than to drive all the way there to look.

Great Kona coffee in a wonderful casual atmosphere!…read more I had to meet up/interview a potential Big Island candidate in Kailua-Kona and I was basically looking for a casual place where I could meet, enjoy a drink, and have a little bit of conversation. Kona Coffee & Tea was the place of choice here in Kailua-Kona. Located at the Kona Coast Shopping Center, you can find this little coffee shop just next door from KFC. The coffee shop is easy to find, as other business surrounding this business is the KTA Superstore, Hele Gas Station, HFS Federal Credit Union, O'Reilly Auto Parts, as well as many numerous eateries. It was late in the afternoon, so I basically came here for some drinks. I had to try their Kona Coffee, and I must say it did not disappoint! The coffee shop has indoor, as well as covered outdoor seating. The shop does sell some food items, but I did not partake or looked at what they had to offer. There was also coffee shop merchandise, but I did not have time to take a look at what they had to offer. Overall, as great coffee shop and if I'm in the area again, I wouldn't hesitate to stop by for their wonderful coffee.

Unless you're a coffee connoisseur, you may want to skip the pour over for something a bit less special to save yourself a few dollars. The coffee was fine, but my unrefined palette was not able to fully appreciate the cup of brew. In terms of atmosphere, Kona Coffee & Tea has plenty of seating outdoors around the porch and a few high tables indoor, where they have AC blasting at full strength. They have free Wi-Fi available as well, so I saw a lot of people posting up on their laptops. Parking is plentiful and easy to find since this coffee spot is located in a strip mall. If you have a discerning palette for the subtle flavors that show up in different coffee beans, you will definitely want to stop by for a cup.
