This review is way overdue. We went to Tea Around Town over a year ago during the summer, and it recently popped back into my mind. Overall, we had a good time. Check in was quite smooth, and the pickup location was close to the New York Public Library, which made it easy to find. The bus also arrived right on time, which I always appreciate. We purchased the first tier tickets, not the most expensive option, and I did notice that seating seemed to be assigned based on ticket level. We were seated toward the back end of the bus. If seating location matters to you, that is definitely something to consider when booking. I also noticed the bus itself felt slightly run down. Part of the ceiling looked like it had cardboard or a temporary patch, which was not the nicest detail. Aside from that, though, the ride itself was pleasant, and I really enjoyed taking in the city views while cruising around Manhattan. The entertainment was the highlight for me. The live singing, especially the male vocalist, really made the experience feel special and elevated the atmosphere. Everyone working there was very friendly, which added to the positive vibe. As for the tea and food, it was just okay. Not terrible, but not very delicious either. I do wish I had upgraded to the better meal option, especially since even the lowest tier ticket was not exactly cheap. I think paying a bit more for better seating and upgraded food would make a noticeable difference in the overall experience. In the end, we had a really good time. It is a fun and unique way to see the city, and the entertainment truly carries the experience. If I were to go again with friends, I would definitely opt for the higher tier ticket. Overall, a strong 3 stars and a great experience!

We got on the bus and went a block before the bus broke down in the crosswalk. The AC turned off and we sat there for like half an hour while they tried to start the bus back up. It was so hot. Then we were told to get off since the bus isn't working. We can reach out to customer service for reschedule or refund and given a box to pack our food and get off. The food for the upgraded price was a rip off. Just go ahead and have afternoon tea somewhere else. Definitely the worse afternoon food I've had. The desserts were meh and the sandwiches were eh. The bread was dry.

I went to Tea Around Town and had a great time! Even though I went solo, it was still a really fun experience. This is something I'd definitely recommend doing with girlfriends, family, or even if you're a tourist visiting NYC and want to see some citing around the city. The host had a beautiful voice and the singing really added to the atmosphere. She was singing some good classic popular songs, I got to try about six different teas with different flavors. My favorite part was definitely the desserts, they were delicious! The sandwiches were okay. I also loved that they gave me a keepsake cup to take home along with my leftovers in this cute box that match the theme of the bus. It was a cute and memorable experience and I would do it again.

Excellent experience! Although I'm from New York, I was able to learn so much more history about my city while on this tour our tour guides and hosts were amazing. Shout out to Lexi and Heidi. Very pleasant and Heidi serenaded us with her lovely singing. Food and pastries were great and filling. Great selection of teas. I liked the balance between hot and cold teas. I would highly recommend this tour so someone living in New York or somebody visiting from out of town! Really cute and creative experience.

I am born and raised in nyc and my 2 friends were visiting from out of state. We planned this activity as a fun girls date to catch up and enjoy the city. We decided on the luxe package for the wine and more food options. We also wanted priority seating. We were sat at the best seat of the house in my opinion, the very back of the bus with windows all around us so i was very happy about that. Let's start with the fact that they don't play about the timing. I planned to arrive around 430pm for the 5pm departure time. My friends did as well, one of my friends came from PA and arrived by 4pm. The other arrived around 440pm and i arrived at 5:01pm. I was late because the trains had issues in the Bronx and there was a Yankee game. My friend asked the workers about a grace period which they said they leave at 5:05pm so i hauled it and made it prior to that thankfully. My friends were on the line waiting to board and we were the first people on the bus. We took a few photos and had our wine. Everyone was seated and we started moving around 5:10pm and got towards the first street light when the bus came to a full stop but the driver did a hard stop that some cups fell from other tables. Apparently, there were 2 women dressed up running towards the back of the bus. They held the bus for about 3-5 mins but didn't let the ladies on. The workers were nice and came around to clean up but that was insane that the driver would break like that knowing people have drinks and food on a table. The vibes and music were great. It was nice that everyone was dressed up. The staff was nice also and they had someone singing. Very Bridgerton vibes. It was beautifully decorated and very clean. I also enjoyed the cups and take home boxes. The food options were ok, some great and others not so great. I'm also picky eater but i enjoyed having multiple options. Esp for dessert. The glitter cheesecake and cream puff were to die for. I also loved the cream cheese sandwich option. I wish I could have swapped the tea for wine, the wine was very good. I also enjoyed the peach iced tea. As for the experience, I wish they gave more commentary of the spots we were passing. They gave a little bit of commentary, but not too much. Because I am a native New Yorker. I knew all the spots, but if a tourist was on board, they would not know many of the spots we were passing. However, it was nice to see the spots from a bus rather than walking by them because we avoided all the crowds. Especially near 59th & Times Square. I loved that this was an enclosed bus ride with AC rather than open top. I did the north pole express experience with my family and I did not enjoy that. It was too cold with an open top. I also liked that they had holes for you to put your cups in, however that didn't help when you have cups for both tea and wine. This was the reason that so many cups fell when the bus came to a hard stop. One recommendation I would have is for the workers to announce holding onto your cups or putting it into the cupholder for the entire ride just in case the driver needs to make a sudden stop. In addition, they should announce that there is a bathroom on board in the beginning of the ride. They didn't say anything until the end when bathrooms were already going to close. I didn't even know there was a bathroom on board. Lastly, I recommend they put an option on the website for shellfish allergies. My friend is allergic to shellfish and was a bit worried that the lobster roll was very close to the other food. She did bring her EpiPen and allergy medication just in case, but the fact that they put it on the same plate when so many people have shellfish allergies is a little bit worrisome. Overall, it was a good experience. I recommend it. I just think it needed to be a little more organized in some areas. It is definitely tailored more towards tourist than native New Yorkers, but it would be great to be tailored to both.

The only negative thing I could say about this tour is that they should put a sign on the street where they pick up from. The site does give information of pickup being between 5th & 6th Ave. After calling the number we were told pickup up was in front of the library which is located next to Bryant Park. Other than that,I highly recommend this tour! It was a surprise birthday outting for my mother & she enjoyed every moment of it. Greeted as soon as they opened the door by Laila who was excellent in making sure we were having a good time & entertaining us with her beautiful voice. Humberto was an excellent server who as well pointed out our table where we would sit. He let us know what each tea was he served as well as being helpful with anything else we may have needed. The food was excellent. There are 2 packages to choose from & the lux gave you items such as cucumber sandwiches, lobster rolls, scones & alot of other items. The tour lasted about an hour & half. Laila let us know about popular areas we passed & gave us history on buildings such as St Patrick's church. This is a MUST to do once in your life!

Terrible experience, I made a reservation to celebrate my mom's birthday for 17 people, some people came from Orlando just for the event. We received a text 40 minutes before the time that tour was supposed to start saying the tour was cancelled due to operational issues. We were already on our way; I tried calling and kept getting a voice mail. I drove to the pick-up location and found another group of people waiting and complaining that they were not getting any response and another lady said she was able to get her call through but that the lady who answered the phone was rude and hung up the phone. The next day, I received an email offering future tours as compensation. I contacted my credit card and disputed the transaction; I want a full refund.

Before even coming to New York we had already planned to do the Big Bus Tour through the New York Pass via Go City. As we wandered the streets, we were constantly hounded by their aggressive staff in the streets trying to get us to buy tickets. Chill, we already have tickets!! Honestly if we didn't already have tickets I would have been so turned off I wouldn't have gotten tickets for it. On the day we redeemed the Hop On Hop Off we went to the stop by M&M World as indicated on their map. And just for the record I have their App, so it SHOULD be simple. Since we wanted to do the uptown loop, we were directed by their staff to walk a few blocked the other way to a different stop. Then ran into another staff member who gave us the opposite direction. The first person gave us bad directions and wasted AT LEAST an hour of our time. And as I mentioned the App, there were buses that were synced without any updates for 20-30mins. What's going on?? And even when we asked their staff they didn't know when the next bus would come either. So frustrating!! In THEORY the value of this hop on hop off bus would be to help you explore the city. You can stay on the bus the entire time and do full loops of the uptown or down town loops OR you can get off and explore a little bit, and hop back on at a later time. All great... if it was actually reliable. Also they give you headphones to listen to their audio tours. Jeez who uses wired headphones these days? Give me something to sync to so I can use my airpods. The audio quality was so poor. It was be loud one moment and then hard to hear the next... and if you increase the volume, later it would be too loud in a painful way. And I've done a lot of these tours in many cities. Usually I have a PERSON telling me amazing facts about the city. This is a recorded unpersonal tour, I am expecting THE BEST FACTS. After being disappointed by the segment I listened to, I gave up on the audio tour. I enjoyed the view from the top deck, and being able to see things without the pedestrians in my way. Well the pleasant feeling soon ended because we were almost at our final destination when the bus stops WITH NO ANNOUNCEMENTS and we're all sitting there baking in the sun wondering what happened. People started leaving. MORE WASTED TIME. Awful operations. I was over it after a while and told my boyfriend we should leave too. When we got off we saw their staff in some deli nearby eating lunch. Obviously I want people to take their lunch breaks but an FYI would have been nice. They allegedly "gave" us a second day but I didn't even want to deal with it. Too unreliable of a service and too much wasting time. Is there another tour bus company that's better than this one in NY?

In order to make their day special, I wanted to take them on a tour of New York City. As a local, I would normally do a walking tour, but when the temperatures hit below, freezing, my Floridian cousins could not handle the cold. OK, I admit it. I couldn't handle it well either. So I was looking for an experience that would give me the tour. I wanted to share with them, but better than a hop on hop off bus. That's when I found The Ride! Honestly, the experience was exceptional! You get on the bus and you sit sideways to see the incredible cityscape of New York around you. We went around Times Square, radio city, Rockefeller Center, Bryant Park, and the very bottom of Central Park. When you experience The Ride, you have two tour guides on the bus who tell you some facts about the city in a very funny and interesting way. The bus itself also gives you facts, because "The Ride" bus also has a personality of its own. My cousins had no idea we were doing this, and they absolutely loved it . First on the bus and picked the front seats. We met outside the Pulitzer Fountain. We arrived early so we were there before the bus and the "blue umbrella" you are suppose to watch out for, so at first we weren't sure that we were in the right spot. It was a large white/grey bus and very comfortable. We found that even though it was quite a large group, everyone was very courteous and respectful which made the whole thing very pleasant. The tour took about 3.5 hours and I loved every second. It is mostly driving through NYC and discussing the locations and scenes that were filmed there. They then show clips either before or (mostly) after you drive past the location. It was great. There are three locations you get out of the bus for and they include: The Sex Shop: Least favorite of the drop off locations. Two buses pulled up at the same time and though we were the first ones inside, it filled up so fast to the point of just being stupid. Carrie Bradshaw's Apartment: Well organized. We came up to it in a line and the tour guide took your groups pictures in front. Magnolia's was too busy on a Saturday to have time to pick something up (they apparently move fairly slow), but from what I understand, on less busy days, people are able to get some treats. Steve/Aidan's Bar: $10 cosmopolitans! This space is GORGEOUS. I would love to come back. There is a cosmo station where they have a dedicated person serving the cosmos to the bus tour. I don't usually like cosmos but these tasted like delicious boozy pink lemonade. My friend and I were only here for the day, but there are multiple restaurants, bars and bakeries that were featured on the show that I would love to go back to on my own. They give you a list after the tour which will be helpful for next time. The tour ends at the HBO store. The store is nice but mostly Game of Thrones merchandise. I ALMOST bought the DVD series of Sex and the City because I desperately wanted to binge watch it, but I didn't. Thank God! It was $88 at the store and $50 via Amazon Prime.

The idea is great - there were multiple languages on the screen. But most of them didn't work. Mine had English coming on one side and Chinese on the other lol. It was also delayed. The only thing they care about is getting your money and running away to make sure you can't get it back. They quoted us 15 min for tour to start, we waited over an hour on the top level of a bus in blistering heat (and this was a night tour!) They made us switch buses because they said the first one wasn't working. Then, they sent us off in another bus that didn't have a working automated tour system- and that's all they do. They do NOT have any real tour guides because any normal company would've sent a live tour guide with us when we'd already been on 2 non-working buses. Then, they'll allow their employees to ride up top with paying guests- I wouldn't care except he decided to blast his highly inappropriate music (there were kids on the tour including mine) which we had to listen to because the tour system wasn't working. I asked him to fix it and he didn't even realize it was broken. He ran down to the driver and came back up saying they were working on it. Then, I called the co number and was promised they were working with the driver to fix it for us. When I called again (because it wasn't fixed) they ignored our calls. We were with this sh**ty company for more than 2 hours and all we did was sit for an hour then drive around the crappiest parts of NYC and stare. If I wanted to drive in a bus around the city and stare at trash, I could've taken public transportation. I'm so bummed because I've been before and had wonderful tours but this was my boys' first time. They think NYC was the worst part of our trip. And, that is what this tour company does. Takes one of the best places in the world and ruins it for first timers- makes them think all New Yorkers don't care and the only thing to see is dark streets, trash piled everywhere and one a couple of pretty bridges. My kids literally asked me to stay in Jersey the last part of our stay there. Don't let these idiots ruin NYC for you. If you see the Iconic tour guys trying to sell you tix on the streets, run away! Don't buy this crap on Groupon either (like I did).
