The owner David is extremely welcoming and is always willing to help out either by answering questions, spotting, training, etc. The same goes for Coach Drew who I was happy to have as my personal trainer. I wouldn't have gotten as far as I did with either of their help but more so with Coach Drew as he's the one that started my training and has kept tabs on where I was in my strength training journey. (He kept the sessions fun and I made great progress with him as my trainer ) As I said above, this is a small gym but it's got everything you need to get a good workout in and the owner and Drew are great trainers so you've pretty much got everything you need. I like that it was small because that meant it never felt crowded. You are able to come whenever you want because you'll have a card to get in which is what I've done a number of times when the gym was "closed". If you're looking for a smaller gym and great trainers, then I highly recommend you check out this place.

The instructors are well-versed in each of their low-impact, workout-exercise forms. I've attended Pilates mat, Mat Lengthen, Signature Barre (combo Pilates & barre & yoga), Define (oooh, baby!), Fly (silks) yoga, Flow (yoga), BB Bliss, BB Burn (ohhhhh, baby, baby!) and many of the 45 min. afternoon classes and 60 min. evening classes. I also took a Salty Yoga in the Salt Revival salt room! The only classes I haven't tried are those crack-of-dawn ones. Sending power to those ladies who workout before I'm awake! I am not, and have never been a ballet dancer. I am three months into classes at BodyBarre, and I can say that I am stronger, more balanced, and feeling better - because I'm moving small and large muscles during these workouts. BodyBarre is for ALL bodies, ALL ages. This is a place that truly welcomes, and encourages everyone. I would recommend anyone thinking of adding a little, or little more, or a lot of cardio to take a few BodyBarre classes at your own pace. For me, it was time to discover that I could do more for my health by adding some cardio in a fun, supportive studio. Locally owned, too! In class, the instructor gently adjusts you to have lovely form and proper technique, which really makes a difference in how refreshing my workouts feel afterwards (apparently careless technique when I did pilates on my own sometimes just sort of left me feeling drained after my workouts). Having to pay attention elegant technique makes pilates from more than an isolated sweatfest during the day, and makes it seep into other parts of my life -- i.e. I've started getting compliments on my posture by my mother (the ultimate accomplishment). It's not too difficult for those just beginning -- the instructors seemlessly transition from warmup to sweatbreaking moves to cooldown. On the other hand it's quite quite sufficient for those wanting a good workout, and I've been satisfyingly sore from their classes many a time.

(for my company to work) I sent them an email on the Aug 16. and I told them by email to cancel my membership, they charged a whole $600. from my bank two days later, they charged my card. you know what these reptiles did? THEY CHARGED MY CARD! I was out of work, (NO POWER) for a whole week due to the hurricane and they still did not consider! ($$$$$ was on their heart Obviously) Little do they know that Hurricane Beryl just disrupted our lives, and what did these arrogant people do, they did not honor my account. I never get bored because the Bootcamp/Fitcamp classes that I take change everyday. I love the instructors - all are very positive, professional, and great at giving modifiactions if needed due to injuries or skill level. You can tell they all have a passion for what they do and really care about their clients and want to help achieve their goals. I don't have anything negative to say about this place, except that the day after a good upper body workout or kickboxing - I'm so sore I can hardly pick up my 8 month old baby...haha! During the signup process, I never felt conned or manipulated. They explained the prices and what the membership offered, but it was never a sales pitch. I know enough people to be on a nodding/fist bump relationship, and for those I don't there's warm fellowship/ community atmosphere there. The owner is one of the certified trainers, and is always greeting people and introducing himself to new faces. The music they play is mostly Christian, and any secular music is always inoffensive. The only complaint I have about the music, is that I wish they played more music from my high school years like DC Talk and the Newsboys. I've been a member of a few gyms over the years, but this is my favorite one by far. If you are looking for a gym, then this is a great place to join. God bless.

Unfortunately, the way management handled this situation completely changed our experience. We each paid $300 for a 30 class package that showed a 54 day expiration in the app. In reality, we had roughly two weeks to use all 30 classes because the package was tied to a Summer Challenge ending around Labor Day. After purchasing, we even told two instructors, including the owner, that we were nervous about completing 30 classes in 54 days because we were brand new to Pilates. No one mentioned that we actually had only about two weeks. I don't think a 30 class package should have been sold that close to its deadline without clearly communicating the terms. Even a quick call saying, "This is for a challenge and you only have X days left. Are you still interested?" would have prevented this entire situation. I would have purchased the monthly unlimited membership instead. What disappointed me most was how management handled it afterward. It took over two weeks, unanswered emails, an in person visit, missed follow ups, and finally an Instagram DM just to get a real response. I understand people are busy, but even "we're working on this" would have gone a long way. We weren't asking for a refund or anything free. We even offered to move the unused classes to the next challenge. In the end, Amina offered five class credits, which would have been a nice gesture initially, but after weeks of chasing a resolution, I was too put off to want to use them. We loved the instructors, loved the classes, and I was ready to become a monthly unlimited member. They didn't lose us because of a miscommunication. They lost us because of how management chose to handle it. This is ultimately why Powerhouse lost me as a customer, and unfortunately, I will not be referring anyone to this business. RESPONSE TO OWNERS COMMENT: I appreciate the response, but I think it misses the main point of my review. I never claimed the expiration date didn't exist anywhere. My concern is that the app we were using showed 54 days, and even after we specifically told two instructors, including the owner, that we were nervous about completing 30 classes within those 54 days, no one told us we actually had roughly two weeks. The bigger disappointment was how difficult it was to get anyone to address the situation. As acknowledged in the response, communication could have been better. The five class credits were eventually offered after weeks of following up, and by that point the experience had already changed how I felt about returning. I understand the studio stands behind its terms. I stand behind my review of my experience. Clear communication at the time of purchase, or simply handling the concern promptly and with some understanding, could have prevented all of this.

I haven't been able to link more than a few double unders together in the last two years I've been working on them and a few suggestions today from Chris had me linking 10 or so together! More than anything, these folks are incredibly genuine!
