The new receptionist, Paula, was not very helpful and she lacked appropriate customer service skills. Paula recently replaced the original receptionist who retired after decades of service. Paula was unable to tell me the day when oil would be delivered to my house so that I would be able to make arrangements with my employer to be home for the delivery. She explained that I could just leave cash or a check at my house for the driver to pick up whenever he was going to make it there in the next 2 weeks or so. This just seemed unreasonable to me. I would think there would be some way to know when, approximately, the oil delivery would occur. There were a few other issues which I discussed with Paula, but she continued to be difficult and borderline rude. As a result, I will never order my heating oil from this company again. I will also hire another HVAC contractor to install ductless units into my house this spring. Leighow Oil Company should fire their new receptionist!

I rarely write reviews but after what my elderly grandparents in Scranton, PA went through, I feel…read moreobligated to share this so other families can make an informed decision. Their sewer line collapsed and American Rooter was sent out through their Pennsylvania American Water AWR protection plan. What should have been a protected, covered repair turned into weeks of stress, disorganization, and nearly $3,600 in unexpected costs for two people in their 80s on a fixed income. The billing felt completely predatory. Once they started digging, the costs kept growing with little explanation. My grandpa was pressured into writing a $2,700 check on the spot, the very same day he signed a contract saying he owed $0.01. No proper written authorization or itemized breakdown was given before that check was written. That is not how you treat elderly customers. The office was a nightmare to deal with. No proactive communication, no clear timelines, and every update required my family to chase them down with multiple phone calls. The on-site technicians were kind and professional but it was obvious the office behind them had no idea what was going on. The sidewalk restoration after excavation required repeated follow-up calls just to get finished. Form boards were left sitting at the property with dirt and rocks scattered everywhere until we called again and again to get someone back out. The only reason this is not zero stars is because the technicians who showed up in person were decent people doing hard work. But the experience as a whole was unacceptable. No elderly homeowner should have to fight this hard just to get a job done right. Save yourself the stress. Look elsewhere.

GG's Electric responded within an hour and came out to my home that afternoon to look at the issue and gave me a quote at no charge. We had a generator to get us through until Monday which saved us some money. On Monday morning the work to replace the panel began. The electricity was back up and running in my home by Monday afternoon. GG's Electric was professional during the entire process and the price was more than fair. They ran into an issue with the installation, but we were never charge extra and they stood by the initial quote. The service we received from GG's Electric was outstanding. I would highly recommend GG's Electric.

Showed up without the part, later found a 'used' one in his van. Sat in my driveway for over 40 mins. throughout appt., also said he had to 'go back to the shop' twice, once sitting in driveway for 20 mins., next was leaving for 10 mins., then sat in driveway another 10 mins. Tore apart wall thermostat, which wasn't a problem. Husband came home from work, had tech show him the replacement unit, and husband pointed out it was wired wrong. Tech had wired it wrong! So for the 3hrs he was there, should have been maybe 1hr of work had he known what he was doing. He then re-wired it and it worked....I get billed for 3hrs! THEN woman manager argued with me over the bill when I called to say there's no way I'm paying for their tech's incompetence and I'd agree to pay for 1hr. She was SUPER rude even after I pointed out how rude she was being to me. This was not my fault and the tech coming and going, sitting in my driveway, not bringing a part, then finding it, wiring it wrong, tearing apart my wall unit for no reason...... I'm sorry, I am not paying for 3hrs of him not actually performing the job. Unreal, more upset over the woman manager being so rude and not even wanting to listen. She over-talked me, raised her voice so I couldn't talk, and even snickered when I said I knew the owner and went to school with him and I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate how she treated customers! Never again. I even got charged for a new part when the tech flat-out told me it was used and he found it in his van!
