With that in mind, I…read moream delighted that I discovered Burke & Herbert over ten years ago, because it is a bank with a heart. In particular, I have been very impressed with the service of a special employee, Fatiha Lahrach. She always recognizes me, remembers my name and always shepherds me through whatever special needs I may have. Most recently, I went to her immediately when I discovered I had lost a deposit slip (with all my pertinent information filled out on it) somewhere between my house and the Fern Street bank branch. Without batting an eye, she closed my account, opened another one and totally protected my funds. When I say Burke & Herbert has a heart, Ms. Lahrach is a fine example of the "warmth" of that heart!

My recent transaction of procuring a cd required two taxi rides for me, and I still received an incomplete copy of the paperwork. Information was incorrect and had to be redone ergo the second visit. I received a call from the area manager which was past due but addressed my complaints. She answered every question, offered solutions, and was just the person to talk to. I assured her that I had no intention of leaving B&H. However, I did call the call center afterwards to ask a question. In my packet of paperwork for the cds, I was not given a copy of the papers I signed designating beneficiaries as well as designating power of attorney on my accounts. I was told by a bank staff member that normally the bank does not give copies out to the owner of acccounts. I replied that I needed copies and he agreed to send them. The call center lady said "of course you get copies of anything you sign". Communication of Bank policy problem which needs to be addressed immediately. The area manager I'm sure will take care of this issue. She was the bright spot in this situation.

Yet I will say once on the line, professional folks who will assist. This is one of the best branches. The reason is simple. It's not as busy as their other locations. Also the ATM and change counter work here. That's helpful. Nice folks and good service. Their rates are fairly competitive also.

The staff was more than accommodating. I was on crutches and knew I would be at the counter for a while. The bank teller kindly provided me with a chair and made sure I was comfortable during my visit. I truly wish I had remembered the young lady's name.
