This review is solely about this branch, as opposed to a banking issue, or TDbank as a company. Ran horribly. Have had to wait multiple times including when appointments booked! (this time I finally said enough and walked out despite my goal of making another account). There were no folks waiting before me, and all appointment slots were Free when i did book them (indicating it shouldn't have been an issue!). The various excuses I received do not add up. I am going to drive to a different TD bank branch in another city (over 15 minutes there and 15 back) in the next few days in order to accomplish my banking needs...and since my car isn't available it'll cost $30 in ridefare to see someone. they're That bad! I wish there was a regional manager for feedback, and how they can improve. I have been a TD Bank customer for years. Back in college, I first opened an account at American Savings Bank when I was a freshman in college. American Savings Bank became Banknorth , then TD Banknorth, then just TD Bank. Generally, when smaller companies are acquired by larger ones, quality can suffer. But over the years, TD Bank has only gotten better. The Middletown branch is particularly wonderful. Every time I walk in, I'm greeted with a smile by one of the staff members of the bank. They let you keep the pens, they have a calculator for use when writing out deposit slips, coin counting is free with the very fun penny arcade machine. The staff are personable and are always talking and laughing with each other and customers. In the summer they keep a dog dish of water near the door to encourage people not to leave dogs in their hot cars. If you go through the drive through with a dog, they give you a dog biscuit. All of the personal touches are there to make this large corporate bank feel like a small town community bank. Their product offerings are better than some of the other local banks as well. I used to have a mortgage with Bank of America, and there is a branch right next door to TD Bank. I went in inquiring about a personal loan, but they don't do that so I left. TD Bank does it all. Mortgages, personal loans, investments, and much more. They can print your ATM card right in the branch, unlike other banks that make you wait to get the card in the mail. And you cannot beat their hours. I believe they were the first non-supermarket bank to open for extended weekend hours. A bank that is open when I have time to go to the bank? Yes, please!! Who doesn't love a bank that is open on Sundays? I will definitely be a TD Bank customer for a long time to come. Keep up the good work, Middletown branch!! read more

If Yelp would let me I would put Zero stars !!! They have overdraft protection but it's discretionary. So if the clerk doesn't feel like clearing a transaction you don't have enough money in your account for they will return it. TDPaid nothing for me. All I get are fees,fees ,fees. I will never bank with them again. I'm going right back to Liberty Bank. Over $200 in fees in the past week when all they needed to do was approve one transaction. When I emailed them about my concern I received an email back with all the reasons why they were not giving me a cent back. I went to them because of the hours well that's the only good thing about them. If you Bank with them be ready to get changed for every atm transaction that isn't theirs. If a check that someone wrote out to you gets returned you get changed For that. Also maintenance fees in your savings. I already told all of my friend and family don't use them!!! read more

Note: Td bank Note text: I really hate to give a one star. There are many good people there but... Their credit card services department has brought me to the brink and has me considering closing my business account and moving elsewhere. I accidentally forgot to make my monthly payment for my business card, so I never get an email or text or alert but started receiving spam like calls (that I know now were from TD Bank) here is a transcript of the spam calls I was getting from TD bank. "Hi this is agent 89018 with an important message for Daniel Powell please call us at......" So who in their right mind returns that call? The answer is no one. So i never connected the dots that i had forgotten to make the payment. This is the first missed payment in 10 years of doing business. My credit report is clean. After a week went by, i had received a few of these spam calls from TD bank, I realized I forgot to make a payment so I went online and made the payment. Little did i know it but my account went to collections already and they refunded my payment. I received no notification that my payment had been canceled but continued to receive spam calls from td bank After a few days when i noticed the money had not been removed from my business checking I thought maybe I overdrafted my account and went to try and pay it again. I had enough funds and made 3x the minimum payment. And that payment was refunded again, with out my knowledge, no email or text or reasonably sounding human on the phone. I made a third attempt to pay via the automated phone system, when that failed and the system automatically sent me to customer service where they told me I was in collections and couldn't make payments I have attempted to contact TD Bank credit services through their secure email section and have told them the issue. They send me back a form response saying my problem was answered and its now marked completed. For the record this issue isn't over and have not received a real response from TD bank and in case they read this I'll be opening a BBB complaint against TD bank and leaving as many reviews as i can in as many forums as I can until this problem is solved And if push comes to shove ill be taking my small business to another bank who can appreciate the fact that someone might forget to make a payment once in 10 years and not throw the book at me read more

Today was a learning day for myself and my son. My son helped the elderly lady next door. She asked for help to move things as she was moving out. The nice lady wanted to pay my sone for the help. So she wrote him a check because she had no cash on hand. So I stopped by the local branch in Middletown, CT. To find out that TD Bank wants to charge you a fee to cash a check from their bank. So a $25 check they want $7 of the check to cash it. The tether was rude. They want us to open an account, so they can charge you a fee on the account. So I found out that checks from TD Bank are not a good check for cash. I would never open an account with this bank. Not honoring a check is for your customers, makes your customers look bad. So if someone gives me a check from TD Bank North I will tell them you check is no good, or add $7 to your check to make it good. read more
