Owner is unprofessional. Tries to scam people. Vendors are scammed by her. Customers are scammed by her. Everybody is scammed by her.

You'll find lots of treasure here, but without the junk and dusty boxes. The building itself is a pleasure to walk around. It's old and the staircase is pretty, and the floors are wooden and creak nicely in certain spots as you walk around. It's very satisfying to look at old things while being in an old thing. I saw a variety of antique and vintage things that I wanted to buy. My favorites were a German Cabbage Patch doll wearing lederhosen, a lighted champagne sign, folk art, and lots and lots of Pyrex dishes. This place also has a good amount of salvage goods, like doors, windows, knobs, and other things that might look good repurposed in a home.

Typically small town antique stores are much smaller than this one and usually tend to be junkier - more along the lines of a flea market or overgrown garage sale. Tallgrass is stocked with true antiques, lots of primitives and architectural salvage. If a farmstead closed in the past 50 years in Kansas, some of the remains are probably being sold out of this retail location. As a license plate collector, I was pleased to pick up a 1955 Chase County truck plate. Tons of signs, lettering, tools and mantiques of all varieties. A must stop for any collector driving 50 highway and even worth the 20 mile journey from I-35. Pricing was more than fair is comparing to big city pricing, especially for the large variety of unique items they have.

I had seen it while driving by but never stopped in until today after I had lunch at Bourbon & Baker. The first thing I noticed was a nice collection of Michael Aram's line! I am a big fan of Aram and had no idea I could find his pieces here in MHK. I found a new catch-all in the hearts line that goes with some of my picture frames and some non-Aram glass appetizer dishes shaped like oysters. The prices were very reasonable. I was impressed to find an Aram mezzuzzah here - that was pleasantly surprising. There are linens, dishware, candles, decor, and other neat things to explore here. Check it out and support this local business!

This shop offered your basic mainstays for any boutique of its kind: decorative napkins and napkin rings, candles, lotions, throw pillows, and the like. However, my favorite part of the shop was tucked in the back. I first spotted the small shelf with spices and olive oils, and then was pleasantly surprised to see a table devoted solely to displaying salts from the Beautiful Briny Sea company, an artisan salt company based out of Atlanta. I first discovered these salts while vacationing in Denver and hadn't seen them since, so I was thrilled to see such a grand display (including samples!) The shop owner noted that he planned to expand this particular section of the shop, so I'll be looking forward to that.
