This is a nice little shop in Marion. It is fairly small but it has a lot to look at. The lady running the shop seemed really nice!

If I could rate this place a ZERO I would. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!…read more Their bags are counterfeit. How do I know? I paid $2386 for 8! I had 8 of them authenticated and all Counterfeit. I placed a dispute on my bank and won. Received a full refund. The OWNER, not booth renter/vendor, BUT owner, Theresa 'TC' said I was responsible whether they were real Or not. The vendor called me and told me I did not have my facts right and they're all real. I sent them The proof of counterfeit - still Wasn't enough. I was told to pay or return the rest Of the items or she would take me to COURT. I cut up one Of the fake bags- as you should- and sent back the remaining 7. That wasn't good enough. I asked, can we mutually agree to call it even, she said "absolutely not. No store would let you leave without paying for the items. You owe the money." I am in utter shock. So after paying $240 to authenticate fake bags, $50 to ship back the bags I am still responsible to pay another $300 for the cut up bag that was LABELED LV monogram. And a $6 ring my son wanted. She is nickle and diming. She has not once shown any responsibility for her employee or acknowledged the items being counterfeit and illegal to sell. I am heart broken that this situation ended this way. I am out more than she is and for nothing in return.

Tallgrass Antiques is well curated, which most people will appreciate. Me? I love nothing more than…read morepawing through a dusty box of knickknacks to find a treasure. You'll find lots of treasure here, but without the junk and dusty boxes. The building itself is a pleasure to walk around. It's old and the staircase is pretty, and the floors are wooden and creak nicely in certain spots as you walk around. It's very satisfying to look at old things while being in an old thing. I saw a variety of antique and vintage things that I wanted to buy. My favorites were a German Cabbage Patch doll wearing lederhosen, a lighted champagne sign, folk art, and lots and lots of Pyrex dishes. This place also has a good amount of salvage goods, like doors, windows, knobs, and other things that might look good repurposed in a home.

Typically small town antique stores are much smaller than this one and usually tend to be junkier - more along the lines of a flea market or overgrown garage sale. Tallgrass is stocked with true antiques, lots of primitives and architectural salvage. If a farmstead closed in the past 50 years in Kansas, some of the remains are probably being sold out of this retail location. As a license plate collector, I was pleased to pick up a 1955 Chase County truck plate. Tons of signs, lettering, tools and mantiques of all varieties. A must stop for any collector driving 50 highway and even worth the 20 mile journey from I-35. Pricing was more than fair is comparing to big city pricing, especially for the large variety of unique items they have.
