Spontaneous stop after a steaming hot (but delicious) dinner. We wanted something cold and refreshing to cool down our bodies in the summer heat. It's been years since I've had a snow cone and this one was perfect. The ice was shaved so fine that it was fluffy, and they are generous with their syrup! I didn't realize how big a medium was so I couldn't finish it. I really wish they offered sugar-free syrups as well. I opted for raspberry and it was so good. I got to taste the tutti frutti but it didn't pack a flavor punch like the raspberry did. I also tried the horchata and it was delicious! They even give you a straw so you can sip it like you would the drink. There were nachos on the menu, but we had no stomach space. Additionally, they have ice cream as well. I am so happy that this place is still here even though I only make it by once or twice a summer. The ice is not as soft as Hawaiian shaved ice but not as crunchy as the slushier snow cone places. It's about in the middle which is great for me. The flavors are awesome but I have to warn you that sour cherry is nearly bitter and I wouldn't get that one again. My old favorites green apple and grape are perfect here and other flavors I got were good too. They put enough syrup on it that you don't run out and end up with a ball of plain ice unless you drink it out with a draw. Service is fast and friendly. I think it's still 6.50 for the largest size. It's a drive through on either side and it's in the big parking lot where you may also spot some fresh produce vendors while we still have that luxury. read more

Love this little inconspicuous hut! Located in a bustling Fiesta Mart parking lot, you feel like you've been teleported to somewhere really exciting. Although the name "TC Shaved Ice" might not be suggestive of some awesomely Mexican treats, it sure pleases my elote (corn in a cup) cravings!!! For $3.24 (incl tax) you drive up to the little drive thru window and get a medium-sized, 12oz styrofoam cup filled to the BRIM with queso cotija (Cotija cheese crumbles)! I actually really appreciate that the corn is already decobbed...corn-on-cob isn't exactly driver/car friendly haha. The temperature contrast of the hot, hot corn with the cool mayo is delectable - think vanilla icecream with fresh baked pie! The corn is covered with a healthy smattering of mayo. Valentina (a vinegary, Mexican sauce staple), queso Cotija, chile powder, etc then grace the top of the mixture. Several good stirs and BAM. This is what we're used to, YES! It seems like when the kiddos went on Summer Break, they started utilizing their services. It was to their detriment. The shave iced went downhill. It's hit or miss here. Sometimes you get a humongous shave ice with generous toppings and the next time you can have a mediocre shave ice that still has white ice in the middle with no flavor. So it just depends on who makes your shave ice. Pro tip: usually the women are the best at making them and all the guys suck at it. They even give them to you All dripping down the side of your cup without wiping it at all. Attention owner! It was a nice surprise to see that they not only sell shaved ice, but also elotes and a few other Mexican goodies. Based on the elotes, they were just about average to me. Seems like they used mayo instead of crema and wasn't as flavorful as some elotes that I've had before, but good enough considering it was Plano and close by to where I live. The strawberries and cream was pretty good, but you can get tired of it after you eat like 1/4 of it so be sure to share with some friends.
