Hard working and excellent work. I had three problem trees to deal with on our property (in Norwich CT). Got a quote from the boss the same day I called him. He arrived after working all day at another job. He told me that his schedule was full and they could probably start in ~2 weeks. Two days later he called and they managed to fit us in. As mentioned in some of the other reviews they were extremely efficient and the area looked amazing when they were done. My trees were in dangerous spots for the house and the neighbor's building. They did a great job SAFELY. I've cut a lot of trees down (when I was 40 years younger) and I think that if you want trees removed these are guys I trust! I do think that you pay for the quality of work that you receive. I've seen cheaper services and I've also seen what happens when a big tree drops on a property. We had a large willow drop on a rental property of ours resulting in $100,000 + in damage. I would highly recommend talking to and using this team. read more

I had them come out last year to look at 2 trees to be taken down the guy apparently thought i was stupid and gullible he quoted me $6,000.00 to fall 2 treesI told them to just leave the wood there just cut the trees down he i called the ninja in Canterbury same work $500.00. I can not review the work that they do, in fairness it may be excellent work, I never got that far however because of the quote I received. The owner came out and presented me with a portfolio to look at while he took a look at my problem tree. I expected maybe some pictures of previous jobs, there may have been some in there but he kept grabbing the portfolio to show me pictures of his new piece of expensive equipment he spent more time talking about than my job, pictures of his logo of which he had at least 3 pages, which is just Taz holding a chain saw, yet he "paid a guy and here's his bio" also in the portfolio. Oh, and the pictures of his "lady". Finally get to the quote, and it's not just a little more than my previous quotes. It is THREE times more than the next highest quote. Not three times higher than the lowest, thee times higher than the next highest. As I was thanking him for coming he brings up his new piece of equipment AGAIN and mentions how much it cost him. Now I understand the price gouging, he had to pay for his new toy. Again, they may do excellent work, I wouldn't want to imply they can't do the job, but I wouldn't even be able to tell you I saw any work, because all I saw was brochures for equipment, artist bios, and the owners "lady". read more

Ed did a great job! We had about 20 stumps, large and small, that needed to be ground. He displayed great care for stumps around sensitive areas, such as the roots of living trees. He thoroughly ground down every stump. He was punctual in his arrival, cordial and friendly, knowledgeable, and capable. A gigantic pine tree, around 36 inches in diameter and about 80 feet tall, up-rooted itself in the winds we've been having lately. and it also decided to knock over three other trees (up-rooted as well) towards our neighbors house and yard. I contacted the two highest rated arborists in BBB to get quotes, Taz responded within hours and i had a quote within a day, the 2nd company took 10 days and the quote was over $200 more than Taz. The crew that did the work was on time and literally lay mats down on the lawn to avoid damaging it, and when they were done the area near the trees taken down was cleaner than before they started. The 80' pine was completely gone (not even a wood chip left) and the dead oak was chopped to firewood size per my specs. Bottom line is I won't even bother getting a second quote the next time I need tree work, just calling Taz. read more

I used the Tazmanian Tree Devil at my house over the Summer of 2017 to remove 3 very complicated trees & 1 of the 3 which was extremely dangerous. The portfolio of prior completed projects coupled with his arsenal of equipment and evidence that he did have general liability insurance AND workers' compensation was convincing that I didn't need to interview anyone else. Other "arborists" showed up, looked the job over, gave me quotes which were ridiculously low to the point where the guys were apparently looking for a day's pay. This sent up the flag that they likely were not insured or insured completely meaning not having worker's comp. I have heard many stories of homeowners being brought into claims for contractors being injured on their property. My project was done in a safe, unhurried manner & very much to my satisfaction. I have had other tree work done at my home by other "arborists" & the finished product looked like an Israeli Air Strike where I had to be involved with the final clean up. Yeah the guy likes to brag about his equipment. Who wouldn't? He's got several hundred-thousand dollars of state of the art equipment sitting in my driveway ready to rock & roll. The Nifty-Lift is a thing to behold. It screams safety all over & pride in owning a small business. He showed up on time, did exactly what he said he was going to do & left my yard better than when he started. When you buy cheap don't expect perfection or adequate insurance that puts what you've word hard for at risk from a lawsuit. Buy one & done - use Taz - yeah he's a spaz but that's what makes the world go round read more
