History
Established in 2018.
2015 – Ramia and her family arrived in Portugal with no documents and limited Portuguese, working in food and IT to support themselves.
2016 – She joined her husband’s startup, Portugal B2B, to connect Portuguese suppliers with Middle Eastern buyers. The business closed after a year.
2017 – Ramia launched IBTEKAR, a small IT and security systems company, but it went bankrupt due to a lack of tax system knowledge.
2018 – Ramia and three Syrian women started Tayybeh, Portugal’s first Syrian catering service, covering events across the country.
2019 – They opened a small restaurant in Parque das Nações, Lisbon, bringing authentic Syrian cuisine to the city.
2021 – Amid COVID-19, Ramia and her husband continued running Tayybeh alone after the team dispersed.
2022 – Time Out Lisboa recognized Tayybeh as the Best Restaurant in Lisbon.
2023 – TripAdvisor awarded Tayybeh Best Restaurant status, cementing its place in Lisbon’s culinary scene.
