American Floor Care refinished five out of the seven rooms in our home last fall (we only let the…read morelast two go because we needed a place to stash furniture during their job). This team's work was outstanding, and the technicians brought along by the owner were pleasant and courteous, and extremely careful not to damage any walls or baseboards in our home while sanding the old floor finish away. Best of all, they did an amazing job all around! We didn't have much hope after ripping up the carpeting and discovering the mess left by the last homeowners (and their dogs!). But wow, these guys made it look brand new. We cannot recommend Dale and his technicians highly enough.

To explain my experience I have uploaded some photos of my experience…read more Graigh had been contracted to remove the existing lifting engineered wood in my townhome and replace it with new flooring due to issues with existing floor lifting. I trusted him to take care of this issue without me being onsite. The original contract photo shows the first item estimated by Snovak flooring was to remove the existing floor. This was never done by Graigh or his subcontractors. I arrived 4 days into the project to find new flooring being down directly parallel to the EXISTING floor with no underlayed padding. This was NEVER discussed with me once. Graigh did not return phone calls for over 24 hours and later said "I'm a busy man" as an excuse for not reaching out. He cited time as a conflict and that in his opinion nailing the existing engineered wood to the potentially faulty subfloor was the best alternative. As much as I appreciate the idea, this was never mentioned in over 4 days of work by Graigh once to me until I discovered it in person. A photo of the quality of work with the shoe molding that was put back in place as finished work is attached. Also a photo of one of many new defective engineered wooden pieces placed. The final job unfortunately did not show interest in fine detail and quality. Graigh was not on site at the completion of the project and had ZERO idea of the final status of the project. The final worksite was left filthy, the wooden floors covered in sawdust/debris and total disregard for a professionally clean working site. When the job was done, requiring over 4 hours vacuuming the main floor, garage, emptying the trash of wooden debris not cleared, cigarette butts, and mopping/cleaning counters throughout the home. Based on my poor experience with the owner, unwillingness of the company to see how laying new floor on an existing problem is not what they had contractually agreed to and the owner's attempts to repeatedly collect FULL payment for a service not completed this is the best review possible.

I contacted Gerald via Yelp and had no knowledge of his reputation. Within 30 minutes, I received…read morea reply. Later that day, we agreed on a time we would meet for a free estimate. I needed 4 rooms and the hallway painted. There was also some dry wall repair needed. Gerald arrived to do the estimate on time. When meeting Gerald for the first time, he looked me in the eye when speaking to me and shook my hand. He also offered to remove his shoes. Gerald is very personable and professional, yet, relaxed. Gerald and I sat in the living room when giving me his quote, which was very specific and completed before he left. The quote came to my device via text and email. I was pleased with the price and paid the deposit right then (electronically). We agreed when the work would begin. One attribute I appreciate about Gerald, is he means what he says and says what he means. Gerald kept me informed during every step of the process. When he says he will arrive at 0800, he arrives at 0800. If the paint store is busy and he will be late, he contacted me. His communication skills are fantastic. Another positive attribute is his willingness to accommodate my particular needs and make adjustments. This happened when I decided to change what moldings would be painted and which moldings would not be painted. Gerald came back after the job was complete, when I messed up some moldings removing carpet from two bedrooms. I was pleased enough with Gerald's work that I hired him to paint the outside of our house. Again, he did what he said he would do. His quality of work was as excellent on the outside painting as the inside painting. Gerald was neat and respectfully of the property both in and out.

The gentleman took a thorough assessment of the house and quoted well within my budget. Gave me a few options to pick. About a week later they did a follow-up call and asked if they could visit for another quality control check. The company owner himself came out and did a quality check. Made sure everything was good and up to their standards. I am highly impressed. Recommend these guys 100%
