As Hurricane Irma was on a direct path to hit my city, Naples, with a projected wall of water that would surge 15 feet high, and proceed 30-miles inland, where I reside in my backyard being Naples Bay, I would have been under water in my one-story home. I had to evacuate as this became mandatory within the AE Flood Zone first. Access to return to Naples was not made available until September 12, 2017, which is also the date this item was to be returned. Upon my return I had attempted to return this item on the date agreed upon, however Taylor Rental, like 99% of the City of Naples was closed. I was therefore unable to return the item.
As of today I am working closely with my neighbors to rebuild my city and have been part of the cleanup on Third Avenue in Naples Florida and have been assisting many of our older residents in removing debris from their driveways so they can begin to move around the city. As a major effort is underway I have still attempted to reach Taylor Rental and yet no response.
Taylor Rental of Naples Florida has now charged me an additional $630.70 as of September 14, 2017. As of September 14, 2017 this leased generator now totals $1,009.12. A product I did attempt to return and have attempted to contact Taylor Rental regarding, both of these attempts resulting in no response from Taylor Rental. This generator retails for $495.
The MMD Generator that I have leased is 4 years old, has failed on three occasions from a filthy carburetor. The machine has only run on these 3 occasions for roughly 15 to 30 minutes before teetering and turning off.
Regardless of attempting to prepare in an impending natural disaster I was only able to get this last generator after calling more than 32 different stores, as everyone else in the City was looking for the same life sustaining products available. It should be noted that upon returning home with the generator that it was noticed a service tag was connected to the side of the generator, reflecting the item was actually not supposed to be leased and was in for repairs, not lease.
Unfortunately while I do still have this generator I was forced to go and find a generator upon my returning, while still having attempted to return the generator that has not, nor does, work to Taylor Rental. The level of pressure and anxiety associated with near catastrophic events is beyond description and then couple that with a company that is taking from you mercilessly and without any ability for retribution in a time of crisis I can't even begin to convey how this feels.
If all of this sounds like a great company to you then please by all means go ahead and use them. read more
