He passed all my cases off to his Of Counsel, Jeff Basso, esq. Who is overwhelmed and weak in his representation style. He rarely speaks up to any judge or opposing counsel and accomplishes little to nothing. Unprepared, he would often email the night before detailing a next day court appearance. When I complained, Patrick McCormick started getting involved again but he was not up to date on all details and it was like having new representation. Do not be enticed by lower hourly rates than other mid sized law firms, because they more than make up for it in aggressive billing and a lot of "research and Philosophy" that requires a real looking over! I would not recommend working with this firm when closing on a house. A list of reasons why…read more 1. Only spoke to Asaf himself once, when getting ready to go under contract. On this call he was pushy and told me to disregard trying to get a piece of information the seller had said they would provide prior to going under contract (which ended up taking me one phone call to my listing agent to get), as any delay at all was too much of a risk that could cause them to find another buyer. 2. The seller agreed to do certain repairs in a negotiated repair rider. Throughout the process of closing on the house, I asked several times for updates on this. It took several emails each time before the updates were provided 3. The person who was working on our sale disappeared from contact a few days before our "on or about" closing date without informing us. We did not find this out until I called the office the day before the on or about 4. I was told on the phone and by email that the repairs had been done as was specified in the contract. At closing, the attorney from his office who came did not have the receipts from these repairs. I was told they would be provided afterwards. When the receipts were provided, one of the repairs was missing (plumbing work). I called in a plumber and found out it had not been done. I reached out to the seller myself, and they told me it was a miscommunication and they immediately reimbursed me for the repair. I have no idea whether Asaf's office even looked at the receipt before telling me all of the repairs are done or if they just assumed the seller's attorney had checked. As of this review they have not answered my email on the subject, and it has been 5 days.

Rather than acting as my advocate, he seemed more concerned about upsetting the other side and doing very little to actually fight on my behalf. At some point I did ask myself if Ryan was my lawyer or my ex husband's is how badly he didn't advocate for me (in my opinion). I definitely got the short end of the deal including losing a big part of my retirement without a fight. He was really polite and organized and responsive but I needed someone to flex more muscle sort of speak given that the other side was really tough, pushy and making ridiculous requests which lead to a lot of unnecessary back and forth and which lead to me getting substantial billings. Hiring a lawyer should bring peace of mind and confidence that someone is advocating for your best interests. Sadly, that was not my experience. I would not recommend this attorney if you're looking for someone who will truly stand up for you and provide real value for what you pay for.

I would give zero stars if I could…read more Michael not only billed me for hours that he didn't represent me, he also: 1. Didn't provide a copy of my bills in a timely fashion. 2. Hardly ever returned calls or emails in a timely fashion. 3. When I had an emergency in my divorce regarding my children, I called his office and he took two weeks to return my call. The only reason he called me back is because the Law Guardian called for an emergency hearing. When we went to court for the hearing he wasn't prepared to represent what happened even though I supplied him with evidence which would have helped my case. 4. After firing him, he refused to send me my file unless I paid him a final bill. Once I did, the file was so small that my new attorney was shocked and mentioned that I should sue him once the case was over with. Luckily for him, I didn't.
