We take concerns regarding professionalism and guest experience seriously, which is why we conducted a thorough internal review of your visit, including all your appointment notes and staff statements, including previous visits to our student salon. As a student learning environment, appointment times and service length can vary and cannot be guaranteed within a specific timeframe. This is especially true when a guest arrives late to their scheduled appointment or has services, such as extensions, that require additional time to complete safely and correctly. These expectations were communicated during your visit, and our team did their best to accommodate your requested timeframe without compromising student education or service quality. Our instructors and front desk team are also responsible for protecting a respectful, supportive environment for our students. During this visit and prior visits, staff documented repeated instances of inappropriate and discourteous behavior toward students and team members. When concerns arose, our instructor stepped in to assist and ensure the service could be completed as smoothly as possible. Our front desk lead and team made multiple efforts to listen, de-escalate, and address your concerns in the moment, including offering explanations and apologies where appropriate. Unfortunately, those efforts were not received, and the interaction concluded before a productive resolution could take place. Obviously this is a hair school so getting a haircut here may mean it's with someone not super experienced which is a risk you have to take however even with someone who was leaning and had to continue calling their manager over for help, the haircut had to get fixed by my friend after (again I took that risk) but the cut was still $15. If you're basically a test dummy for someone learning $15 is wayyyy too much. Might as well go somewhere else for the same. read more

I came here for what I thought was a simple haircut but was apparently much too difficult for my stylist. I had just cut my hair straight across in the back at home, cutting off 5 inches so I didn't want to lose anymore length. I just wanted some layers and a face frame. I showed my stylist multiple pictures and told her exactly what I wanted. TWO HOURS later I ended up with this. Totally uneven, no layers at all, no face frame except for 2 strange, uneven pieces, and 3 inches shorter than what I came in with. Also, I don't know what's in their protein hair mask but my hair has been frizzy and unruly since. I was so upset I just came home and cried and then hung up sheets over my mirrors for the next few days. A bad haircut can really suck and this place is guaranteed to give you just that! read more

I'm not going to lie they gave me an excellent fade but by far the worst front desk experience ever. The guy who cut my hair absolutely deserved my tip but the people working the phones need better people managing skills. I came in for a cut and a dye which took 3 hours and 30 min which is to be expected but they burned my scalp. I have naturally light blond hair that takes to bleach, toning, and color really easy. Again, I don't blame the barber but whoever helped him formulate the bleach and toner used something that finished up in 15 min. It stung and burned both toning and bleaching. I wasn't gonna make too much of a big deal out of the situation but I just wanted my money back the day after when I found my scalp was destroyed and scabbing over. I called in and explained the situation and they said that they would help take care of it and the manager promised a call back later in the day. I was not called back. I gave another call and they promised a call by 6 pm the next day. That did not happen either. So I called again and I was told that a manager would call me within the hour after trying to convince me that they would give me a call the next day. I did not accept that because I do not have time to be waiting on a call I will not receive. Not surprisingly, I did not receive any calls. I called them again and they let the phone ring. So I called again and they PICKED UP THE PHONE and then THEY HUNG UP. Now very upset, I called one last time and explained what I was promised. They were very condescending over the phone and asked "would you like to come in?" So I did. I went in and got a refund in less than 10 min. I'm only giving a star because the barber was a pretty cool guy but the customer service was shit. It was the worst I have ever had and that's even comparing to Wendy's. I generally do not like to make complaints or review things but this was so infuriating and downright rude. I would not recommend coming here. read more

This place gives good hair cuts. The students are great but only when you can get the receptionist to answer the phone. In 6 months I haven't actually been able to get them to answer the phone or call my voicemails back, I just end up having to walk in. The hair cuts are great though and reasonably priced! Karen always comes and checks my hair and is the nicest person ever! I would recommend the students here but definitely not the people at the front desk. read more

First off, I want to say that the only reason I'm even giving any stars at all is for the two very kind evening students who were super sweet and tried to help me feel better about my experience. The original gal who started on my hair was super sweet, but I do not think she should have been on the floor just yet. I had an appointment set up for 9:30am to get a blonde balayage done. I arrived, and we got the bleach started around 9:45/10am. Things were going pretty okay for the first while. However, while the gal was taking out the foils, there were several times when she stated "oops, that's spotty", and she often questioned what she was doing but did it anyways. The bleach was not rinsed out until about 4:30/4:45pm. FIVE hours later. Even I know that you should never leave bleach on that long. I was then passed on to another student, because the first gal was only there until 4:30. It took an hour, and two people to comb out the ratting caused by the backcombing from the bleach. When she began blow drying my hair is when we all noticed just how badly done my hair was. There were sections that were entirely missed, spots/splotches, super harsh lines, it is extremely uneven (even for a balayge). My hair was so damaged becuase the bleach was on it for five hours, that as they were brushing it, I watched it break off. I did not leave the salon until about 8:30/8:45. ELEVEN hours after I arrived. Now, I know that this is a school, and things happen, but to have two students and three instructors make a comment on how my hair should have not turned out like, and that there was no reason for me to be there that long that says something. For the amount of time I was there, my hair should have been absolutely perfect. I had to cut off at least four inches just to take off the damage. I am going to have someone else try to blend the missed and splotchy areas to at least make it presentable. I was told by management that I would be reached out to, and I still have not. To this day. My appointment was on November 19th. I cannot see myself going back here. I have had blonde balayages done at beauty schools before, and have never had such a bad experience. Oh, also, they removed my review from Google. Kinda sketch if you ask me. read more

I loved my experience at Taylor Andrews in Provo! I just went to get a trim, so I can't speak for any daring hairstyles and whether or not you should go here to get them, but it was wonderful for what I needed. The student doing my hair was so friendly and really cared about doing a good job. I have very long, fine, thick hair and for a trim, wash, and blow dry I was probably there for 2 hours. As many people will say in their reviews, because it is a school, the stylists are still learning so they go much slower than other salons. Go on a day that you don't have much planned! read more

Don't recommend going for lash extensions. My first time I went for a two week fill, it took four hours. Not just that but my main concern was when I left, my eyes hurt and were red. I didn't think it was too bad until the next day, they hurt even worse and were even more red. I noticed one eye had a specific red spot that would not go away after a few days and hurt bad. I called Taylor Andrews and the lady on the phone said it was probably just an allergic reaction, I said no way. More like nerve damage. That eye redness is the picture. Then she told me she couldn't give me any refund or anything which makes sense, they are students. She said she can schedule another fill with a much better student. I went and the second picture is what I left with that second time. They were clumpy, sticky, glue was left and there was a couple bottom lashes glued to my bottom ones. My lashes are way damaged from this place now and I hope you learn from my experience, never again read more

If you are looking to go to hair school, I wouldn't recommend Taylor Andrews. They take WAY too many students (and have the highest tuition price), knowing they don't market or have enough clients to educate/give experience to the students. They have a barbering program so the cosmetology students don't even get mens cuts. You will finish 18,000 hours with less than 100 opportunities to even work on clients... that is not an acceptable education for that much time and money! read more

5 HOURS! Took five hours seated in the most uncomfortable salon chair ever- just for a partial highlight! Students were nice, friendly- oblivious to my time constraints and discomfort. The supervising teacher/professional didn't seem to care that it was taking so long & only stopped by 4 times to answer questions from students. In the end, way too many highlights for it to be a "highlight". Will now have to have someone else add the lowlights back in. Well the only other reviewer to date on here obviously did not have the stylist I did. Oh my. You have me fooled that this is a school. I felt I was in an upscale salon. I was treated with respect and felt like a valued customer. My stylist, Tiffany Vincent, is a natural. Worst haircut of my life. The hair girl (from what I remember, her name was Sarah) cut my bangs so, incredibly short that I had to wear my hair in a headband for 2.5 months before they were long enough to wear down in public. She cut my bangs wet, which, even I, a girl with no hair experience whatsoever, knows is a no-no. I didn't stop her because I assumed she knew something I didn't? She didn't cut the bangs long, then slowly get shorter, instead she just chopped a chunk of my hair, then visibly freaked out as she knew she had messed up. She then proceeded to blame me (!!??) for the terrible thing she had done to MY face (!!!???) because I was -talking- while she was cutting? Completely unprofessional, uncalled for, unapologetic, and rude. What kind of student blames their client for THEIR poor job? Anyways, I would never go back to this place if they paid me. It's been 4 months since I have been, and I have only had my bangs down for 6 weeks. My bangs are just now getting their first trim, ever. 4 months. If I can find a way to post pictures of this absolutely atrocious haircut, I will do so. read more

I've been here getting eyelash extensions and I've been impressed with how professional their service is. Sammi did my eyelashes the second time around and she was always explaining what she was doing, and what to expect. She always asked if I was comfortable. At the end of the service she explained to me well on how to take care of them. She even gave me her card in case I had any questions. Sammi also said if a lot of my eyelashes fell out in the very beginning I could come back and get them fixed. I did have to wait 15 minutes after my appointment was scheduled to get in though. I'd give Sammi 5 stars if being late wasn't her fault, but if she was, 4.5 stars. Update: I got a lash fill from someone else, and I wasn't as impressed. I was really grateful that she took off a lot of my lashes that were more twisty and not as secure, but she didn't put on 6-7 lashes at the outside edge of my left eye. I didn't notice until after I had left, and it's visible noticeable. I didn't have to wait as long to get in, but I'm sad that I didn't get all lash extensions on all of my eyes. I'm honestly not terribly impressed with this place. While it's not the worst dye I've had (that would be the Walmart disaster of '15) it's definitely next to it. The girl was definitely friendly and such. But she was ill-trained. And that's saying something for the countless dye-experiences I've had (there's a lot). It took them 4.5 hours for a Black all-over color and trim. The longest I've ever had was 3 from a girl who messed up and had to dye it all over again somewhere else. (I've always gotten black - when I reference, it later based off the same standard) When she washed my hair, there was definitely still dye left after. When I got home, I couldn't even touch my scalp with how much there was. There was a lady next to us that sincerely made me question why she was in a salon academy with how terrible she was on her mannequin. I can honestly say I've never seen someone be so aggressive on hair. Don't get me wrong, it was a mannequin, but still. You play how you practice. I honestly feel though that it wasn't these girls' fault, that they've just been ill-trained. I may be wrong though. But it was also just the overall feel. But it might've just been the night crew. I went there to get my hair colored to strawberry blonde...turned out more orange...I was there for 6 hours (I had them do a cut too)! They left bleach in my hour for two hours!! Totally wrecked my hair and when I went to pay, it was $30 more then they told me upfront it would be. The front desk girl told me they could refund me $20 and when I went back the next day to collect, the manager totally have me the run around and said she would "look into it" and call me the next day... This school deserves a better star rating. All the other yelpers are girls, and I'm a guy. So here's a guy's review. This is a school/salon, so you're going to read things I like about both. Cheap price, $10 for men's haircut including shampoo, scalp massage, and styling. They ask me for my style, measurements, and if I want anything to drink. They also groom my beard. Some double check with their instructor before they move on (they don't want to mess up). They ask me what product or finish I like. I get a new stylist every time I walk in or set an appointment, unless I personally request someone. I've been coming here for the past year because they don't screw up my hair. For a guy, I recommend this place because you get luxury at a cheap price and you get a stylist that takes your hair serious. read more

After making an appointment for a full manicure, I had to wait 30 min just to be told they don't cut nails. They also had a very limited selection of nail polish. They didn't even have any nail clippers for me to cut my own nails. Basically their full manicure is just a student painting your nails. I am really upset because I have booked appointments at Taylor Andrews multiple times and then I go in to find out they have canceled my appointment without calling and letting me know. So I worked around my appointment all day and then I spend the time to drive there to tell me they need to reschedule me. I love the girls who do my lashes they are wonderful, but is very frustrating to have your appointment canceled with no warning and no compensation for the inconvenience. read more

I usually go for a cut and color. It does take longer because it's a school, but I appreciate that they take their time to make sure it's right, and I just plan for the time.
