Yvonne responded quickly, and provided us with very helpful information that was necessary to file his taxes accurately. Yvonne was kind and said that while she'd like to prepare his taxes, the fee probably wouldn't justify the effort since he had already completed 90% of the work himself and all he needed to know was if he is allowed to claim his wife as a dependent for the whole year even though she passed away in February. I'm grateful for business owners like Yvonne who provide valuable services, but not at the expense of someone who just needs a simple question answered. Thank you Yvonne for your kindness during a very difficult time for our family!! I walked in owing a back tax of $9,100.00, from a year that I wasn't involved with the CPA office.. In her own time, off of the schedule, I received several calls and emails detailing every step of the tax year and previous tax debts. By the time it was all over with, not only was my $9,100.00 cleared and no longer owed, the IRS owed me roughly $1,000.00 !!!!!! Lets see HR Block do something like that!! I can't say enough good things. Every year is good but this year was an epic display of professionalism and true hard work.. Yevon is a total rock star. I can only imagine the rest of the office is as efficient and hard working.

Mary, the woman behind Grace Bookkeeping, has been helping me with my taxes since I moved to Oregon…read morenearly five years ago. She was a friend of a friend I work with. She helped me deal with a huge mess where my employer was still connecting me to California despite my residence in Oregon. And on "normal" years, she's super organized, which nicely counterbalances me, the not-so-organized part of the equation. She sends out a reminder, along with a checklist of documents to gather before tax time. She'll pick up and deliver documents to your home. She puts everything in a spiral bound folder for you so you have everything bundled and easy to store in case of an audit. And she's just a really nice person to work with. If you need someone for your private taxes or small business, I highly recommend her. A plus: No judgments when you are a loser and paying your taxes in October. ;)

Yes, this is long, but business owners deserve a clear warning…read more I've owned a business for over 30 years, and this has been the most disorganized accounting firm I've ever worked with. This firm handled my personal and business taxes for three years. Every single year, I received notices from the IRS and the Department of Revenue stating that my returns were filed incorrectly. Communication was another constant problem. Nearly every scheduled meeting was canceled due to an "emergency." This happened year after year. The first year, after I emailed all required documents, I was invoiced to review and respond to IRS and State of Oregon notices caused by their own mistakes. Even after paying for their review, the issue was not resolved, and I am now making monthly payments for taxes that should have been handled correctly from the start. Document management was equally troubling. After sending complete records by email, I was repeatedly told they could not locate them, as if they had never been received. Most recently, I learned that in 2023 the CPA failed to check the box to file an extension for my returns. As a result, I am now responsible for paying the penalty for their oversight. I gave this firm three years, hoping things would improve. They did not. I have since switched to a new CPA. Other entrepreneurs should think carefully before trusting this firm with their livelihood.
