Absolutely terrible. Filed my taxes 2/24 and they never actually filed them with the irs. Couldn't get a hold of anyone at the office because they shut down for however long with no answering machine or email address to contact anyone. What a waste of time and money read more

if I could give a negative I would. No communication, awful follow up, customer service, even though they filed extensions. I finally received my completed taxes in November , paid the money I owed. Today I find out I was still responsible for paying the amount I owed to the state back in April, even though I had no idea what that amount was.. Dropped off taxes in March of 2021. Was told they were behind due to loss of staff but no worries and that they would file an extension and still do my taxes. Long story short... they didn't and I ended up having to pay a $500 penalty because of their error! Barb said if there was a penalty, she would pay but never did! read more

Most unprofessional business ever. Dropped off my return information in February and waited 4 months never heard anything. Had to track them down to get my info to take somewhere else in June. Had to pay interest on the taxes I owed for filing an extension. Should be out of business. read more

Been going there for over twenty five years and recently retired and still made the drive from Franklinville because I was loyal. Dropped off taxes on March 3rd and after several calls no taxes. Went there in April, May and June left notes in closed door jam after the phone was off with no call back. Finally in mid June saw Tammy open the office and after waiting her field calls for half a hour told her to just give me my paperwork. That was on a Friday and by Monday found someone in Springville to do them. read more

This was my second year using them and Elizabeth is the best! She makes it simple and quick and this year with COVID, I was able to send her everything electronically instead of making an appointment. She called with any questions and had them done within a week. I did have to go there to sign the returns in person and pay, but you do not need an appointment for that, just show up during their hours (which are very broad for those that have odd schedules, 9a-9p most days during tax season). I received my refunds within a week of signing and collecting them from the office, so they are very quick to get everything done and handled for you. I will continue to use Tax Wizard and my girl Elizabeth every year unless I move out of state, and maybe even then too! read more

What are you doing to the people that have trusted you to file our taxes?? You can't be reached by phone and the office looks like the doors are locked . No note on the door NOTHING!!! If I could give a zero I would! We had our taxes done here before with no issues, except for having to hold your breath from the stench of cigarette smoke. This year was a nightmare. Taxes were done wrong after we were shown the correct numbers. I returned the incorrect forms and was promised they would be amended right away, although the incorrect ones were already e-filed. I told them I just don't want to hear from the IRS. Well, nothing got corrected and we received a letter from the IRS stating they needed all our W2s and 10-99s. Tax Wizard still had all our paperwork and said they would take care of it when I showed them the letter. 2 emails and 7 unreturned phone calls later, we said they better be done because we were coming to pick them up in the morning. Late that evening they called to say everything was done. Next morning all were handed back was the paperwork we brought in a month previously minus one W2. It was like pulling teeth to get all my paperwork back. That's it. They did nothing but cash our check. Now we were left to file our own paperwork with the IRS and wait another 8 weeks before we may possibly hear something. Shame on everyone in that office! All we ever got were excuses for a month. read more

Absolute scam. They "filed" my taxes in February and it is now June, still no refund, they do not answer their phones or emails. NYS website and phone services say the information tax wizard provided us for our returns do not match their records. This lady is a whack job and this place went downhill. read more

Best tax service I've had, employees were courteous and respectful, process was smooth and straight forward.

Dropped off Taxes at the beginning of March. Took 6weeks for them to complete. Did not get my Taxes back till AFTER THE FILING DEADLINE. First time EVER from 1st year filing, I needed to have an Accountant office file an extension [at that's at least they told me the did.] Call 3 weeks after dropping off was told would be another week. Spoke to some NASTY WOMAN a week later only to be told someone will call when they are completed, they where short staffed this year. I nicely stated I was told they be done by now. She asked when I dropped them off. In her nasty attitude she said; "NO that's not right. At that time people where told would be 5 weeks till completed." WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THEM AGAIN after 15 years of having them done there. read more

Worst experience of my life. Can you give negative stars? They refuse to return phone calls ( five to be exact) even after they promised. Barb spoke to us like we were idiots. Said the taxes would be done in three weeks....I attempted to pick up the incomplete taxes seven weeks later,only to have them beg for one more day. And guess what...the IRS sent us a note saying the taxes were wrong...by a lot. We got much less back than promised. She may be cheap, but you get what you pay for. Very stressful. Incompetent rude and unprofessional. NEVER AGAIN read more

I was referred to Tax Wizard by my sister, who has been a their client for many years. Both times I called, a couple weeks apart, the receptionist was very impatient and rude; barely let me even explain the purpose of my call. Today was the second attempt, after interrupting me each time I tried to speak, she tells me to let her finish! Wow. Nope. I told her forget it and hung up and I took my business elsewhere; where I was greeted kindly and professionally, was listened to, was able to drop off my tax papers and schedule a sit down appointment for Thursday. I will never use Tax Wizard and will recommend nobody I know ever does. read more

This place is horrible made three mistakes on our taxes number 1) told me at first I was getting a return then Barb said oh I made a mistake you owe money. 2) I work several jobs when my taxes were complete they forgot to give me back one of my W-2s had to go back to the office to go get it for my records. 3) my wife went over her return we file married separately and my wife found a mistake on her return her return has to be amended it's a shame to pay money to have your taxes done and so many mistakes were made . read more

The worst ! The Tax wizard in Hamburg is terrible! 1. I still have not recieved my tax return 2. They have not notified me how much I am getting back 3. They have not told me how much I owe them for their terrible service. 4. They completely forgot to file one of my W2s and only noticed it after I pointed it out after everything was submitted 5. They do not return phone calls or emails like they claim they will. If they were better at communicating in the first place they could have likely avoided the error they made 6. They took so long to submit my stuff that I had already moved to California and since they don't return phone calls they sent the return to my NY address which tax returns do not get mail forwarded so...who the hell know where my incorrect text return is. Outer space maybe ? My first appointment with them was in early February. I had everything submitted to them on march 20th almost a month before the final allowed day. It is now May 22nd! read more

After being told I was going to receive a refund from both state and federal tax returns. I received a letter from the state of New York telling me I owed $1300. After making multiple calls to the office and never having one returned, I am left scrambling to figure out how much to send the state and the deadline is just four days away. Would not recommend Barb, terrible customer service, they take your money for a professional service, Yet do not back up the work. Makes me asking what did I pay for? You go to an accountant trusting them to get the numbers right and no one wants a surprise like this. I may have well done my taxes myself! read more

By far, the worst experience I've ever had. The word incompetence comes to mind. Dropped off all my information early in March. No calls, no emails, no communication from this company. Gave them a call to see if my taxes were done in mid April and was assured my taxes would be completed before the deadline May 17. I just phoned them today, may 14, only to receive a return call from Diane- who was much less then cordial- stating she has been calling and emailing me since 4/11 ( a blatant lie) there was zero communication from this office and could prove it with email and call history that no such calls or email were ever made! I will take my business elsewhere from this day forward and suggest (strongly) you do the same read more
