I have been a customer of Tax Master since my first visit 1992. Tax Master was recommended to me by an old girlfriend. LOL. I have been a customer ever since. I have been coming to Tax Master longer than I have been married. LOL. Jim is fantastic as well as the rest of the staff. But Jim is fantastic, personable, professional, friendly and knows his stuff. We have had our ups and downs in our finances recently and Jim provides fantastic information and guidance. The cost is equivalent to the service you receive. We have watched our children grow up on a yearly basis. When we first started coming to Jim we lived in NYC. Since 2000 we live about 1.5 hours north of Queens and we still take the drive into Queens just to go to these appointments. I also have reached out to Jim during off peak times for questions and usually within 24 hours, sometimes the same day I get a information filled response. If you want someone to do the same thing that Turbo Tax can do, then this is the guy for you. For almost 10 years I went to this person without any issues for regular yearly tax filing of my income. Then this year, I got a letter from the IRS Audit department and this dude was nowhere to be found. We emailed and called and barely got a response except for the rude person who picks up the phone. I feel like I pay his fee to get personalized service and received the opposite when it was needed so badly. A week later after calling again, Mr. Block passes along the message that he forgot to put something in, so, yes we owe whatever the IRS said we did. SAY WHAT???? And that was it. We were never given the opportunity to ask questions of this "professional" and we never received a decent explanation. "We Help You all year long, not just during tax season" This is from the website and this is crap. I am so angry that after all these years that I have given my business and money too that no one can give me a freaking courtesy phone call over this "mistake". And the troll that answer the phone must come cheap because she barely exhibit any kind of phone manners as well. She basically told us that she did pass along the messages regarding this serious issue and that there is nothing that she can do. What a waste of my time. Please don't waste yours. read more

I was going to give him a 3/5 for doing them correctly--at a cost of over $330 for my individual, one-job-wage-only taxes--but he did not, in fact, do them correctly and now I am dealing with the consequences. Further, Mr. Block had me sit through a political parody video he made. Had I known I was paying well over $300 for this dubious honor I surely would've left. read more

I've been going to the Tax Master for over 20 years! That in itself is a very positive endorsement. David gives you a personalized tax return that maximizes the benefits you're entitled to receive. The fee is not cheap but it's very reasonable for what you get in return and yes he does include that cost as a write off! For many years I was entitled to capital gain losses and David is an expert in maxing that out for you. In recent years he's set up an estimated tax schedule for me to pay my federal and state taxes throughout the year so I don't get socked with one lump fee at tax time.
