Most of my contact was with Bob, Claire & Susy and they were able to make the necessary corrections to get me and my company back on track. Throughout 2019 I have maintained contact with this firm and convinced that not only my past issues totally resolved but that we also have taken the appropriate action to avoid any potential future problems. I sleep a lot better knowing that both my personal and business tax & accounting information are being handled professionally by true knowable and professional people. First, the front desk & whoever answers the phone we're so friendly but when I met Robert he turned me down before even looking at my tax return. Stating "I don't want to take your money". I assume he has a fair thought process for this but it didn't come across that way. He said my tax return wasn't too complex. I appreciate his honesty but I'd remind him that I made a trip to his office & you should always treat everyone with some level of respect. Not quite sure what he was using as an indicator to not take me on as a client but I've never heard of a CPA firm making someone feel like I was wasting "their" time. Mind you, he still has no clue what my 2017 take home was. WTH is that. Can't help but think he prejudged me. Matter of a fact he recorded I use Turbo Tax. Wow. My advice to Robert is to commit the time you promise, 1hr, look at a person's return to understand their taxes, & let them come to a final conclusion if they would like to pay to your fee. Otherwise you have people like myself confused as to how you made your assessment that I wasn't worth taking on. News flash my demographic is the new future "hypos" of the world...do your research on the word & demographic. I am disappointed.

My last straw with a declining business. This stems back to a dispute from last tax year--they did not review my return carefully, resulting in a careless error in reporting out of state income I documented and a five-month delay in getting my state refund. They were casual and non-communicative about a letter from the state with a deadline for response, to which I had to rush a reply to get a postmark to be in legal compliance. They were indifferent that a significant refund was at stake. In a previous year, a server went down and they lost all returns. Careless. Another year we had to submit additional documentation to the state as they said that their software had a glitch which affected many clients' returns. Bureaucratic and unreliable. Tony used to provide a personal touch. But it's a large bureaucratic operation, he doesn't even give a simply reply like "I'm working on this matter" when he is CC'd on an urgent matter. The receptionist tell you "it was on Tony's calendar for last week," not "Tony has taken care of this." It used to be in person annual appointments, then went to Zoom, and then became by telephone. The amount of time was reduced very year, even as fees outpaced inflation. It's overpriced, and the service and reliability are not at all what they used to be. Tony used to be a nice guy and very professional, but he's only a shadow of what he used to be.

We look forward to receiving ALL of your information - per our Document Checklist inside your work order - giving you a price quote (upon receipt) and getting things started! -Team @ Agro CPA" Upon uploading all my information and organizing it following the guidelines on the website, i received an email from Basil saying that for me to get the price quote, i had to pay a $65 consultation: " Thanks for getting back to us. I would respectfully request you book me for a $65, 30-minute consultation to help you streamline and understand your business income and tax deductions, and file presentation. To do that, please go to my calendar page, where you will be able to select a 30-Min Pro Consultation and make payment with your desired time of booking." I replied inquiring as to whether the documents I had shared following their guidelines were not enough since i had organized them clearly, and i didn't want to spend $65 on a quota. The response was the following: " I understand you want a price quote -- and we want to be as preparation-ready as possible, in the event that you hire us. I otherwise could spend all day giving price quotes this time of year: it's not efficient for our business model to not have all the info required. If booking a consultation does not work for you, kindly consider taking your business to another tax professional." Never in my life had I been asked to pay for a price quote. Very rude and uncollaborative. Not impressed. EDIT: Hahahaha, I can't believe the response from the business owner. First of all, it is not your prospective client's responsibility that you cannot manage your time properly and find yourself working at 2 a.m. NY time. Secondly, the screenshots attached to the review clearly show that I was asking whether you were requesting a consultation because you had reviewed the files and found them unclear -- or if you were doing so just because -- even though I organized the files according to your guidelines and created a Google Drive (again, exactly as your guidelines suggest) despite the obvious security issues. I also added brief notes on the portal to address any potential confusion, given that I am currently out of the country for work. Yes, I did find it unnecessary to pay $65 for a consultation when all the information needed for an initial price quote had already been shared. I am extremely confused as to why it was so outrageous to contact the Portland office from abroad to work on my individual 2024 tax return when I am an Oregon business owner and resident. Lastly, I'm attaching the "automated message" I received offering $200 to remove this review. Please make it make sense. Am I seriously supposed to delete this review for $200 after reading the appalling response from the owner? LOL -- absolutely not. This experience gets worse and worse. The owner is unhinged, and probably dangerous as he not only berates them, he also exposes his clients names online (see older responses to other reviews).
