We were able to get in within a week, literally within a month of tax day (seemed pretty unheard of for a professional accountant). We really didn't want to use a chain tax place and listen to them ask each other questions about how to do our taxes. That's scary. Dawson took all of my messy paperwork, asked for a brief synopsis of what was going on and had our taxes done within 10-15 minutes. Bam! I rescheduled twice with you before I caught Co-VID due to my busy schedule. It was on my 3rd rescheduling when she told me I could not reschedule again. All my rescheduling with the exception of Co-VID was with ample notice (At least 2 weeks out). Concerns: Your clients are very busy people and when you are pompous to tell your client they cannot reschedule, it tells me your office is not customer focused nor you are a friendly office. Additionally, when it comes to public health safety, it raises concerns on your office's ability to provide a clean and safe environment for visiting clients. Requesting 1 day cancel notice from someone who just found out he caught COVID was not only illogical and unconcerning, it was downright irresponsible as an office that opens to the public. 2. Your receptionist was the one who hung up on me when I questioned your office policy on CoVID. Concerns: Placing public health safety for those who visits your office help build trust and shows care and respect to those who visits your office. For the reasons above, I did not choose your office. I was interviewing 2 other CPA offices that were friendly, professional, and understanding. I have since selected one of them. I hope you will review your office professionalism and health and safety protocol, but equally important, the honesty of the people in your office. We have been attempting to contact Erica since early May to find out why we owed or if we actually owed. The girls in the office have been trying their hardest to assist us, but Erica has never once returned my call and it's now August. (yes we sent the $) We understand that life happens and sometimes things happen that are more important, but not to call back at all is quite disturbing to say the least. 1 Star -- Do Not Give This Firm Access to Your Business or Bank Accounts…read more Based on my personal experience, I strongly recommend avoiding BASC Expertise. This firm is overpriced, constantly nickel-and-diming for basic requests, and extremely difficult to work with. Simple asks routinely come with surprise charges -- asking for a small favor can easily turn into an unexpected $1,000+ bill. Over the course of our relationship, our taxes were messed up multiple times, which created unnecessary stress and cleanup work. Despite paying them thousands of dollars, accountability was never taken. Instead of addressing client concerns, anyone who raises issues is labeled a "disgruntled client" or accused of lying rather than the firm taking ownership of its mistakes. A major red flag: they do not allow clients access to their own QuickBooks, while simultaneously requiring full access to your bank accounts. Even worse, Deirdre inserts herself onto business paperwork, making it intentionally difficult to leave once you realize the relationship isn't working. The most alarming issue: during a legitimate contract dispute, they attempted to withdraw $36,000 from our bank account without permission or prior resolution. This was not authorized, was not agreed to, and happened while the matter was actively being disputed. That alone should make any business owner think twice before trusting this firm with their finances. Communication is another constant issue. Deirdre is frequently out of office or on vacation and often unavailable when you actually need support. Yet the firm has no problem charging premium rates regardless of service quality or responsiveness. Despite presenting themselves as a full accounting firm, there is no licensed CPA on staff. They will still try to operate as if they are indispensable to your business and push arrangements that feel unethical and heavily one-sided. There are far better, more transparent, and more affordable accounting services available that actually employ CPAs and don't lock clients into questionable agreements. Bottom line: If you value control over your own books, ethical billing, clear communication, and not having someone dip into your bank account during a dispute -- go anywhere else. Do not give this firm access to your finances.
