He didn't get our tax return done when he said he would. Said he had a death in the family. Ok, I'm sympathetic to that. But when he finally got our return done weeks later, he made a big mistake that could've easily been avoided, which resulted in us owing $4k more in taxes, and then he had the gall to blame it on me. Considering the amount of time I spent making sure that he was working on our return and having to review it, I might as well have done it myself. The only silver lining was that his rate was low, but I also got what I paid for. (I did not provide you with two documents with conflicting info. One was a spreadsheet that I prepared that had my mortgage payments as part of my expenses. The other was the actual tax form from my lender with the mortgage interest amount which was the number that was supposed to be inputted. It was an oversight on your part. I don't take issue with how much we ended up owing in taxes. But if I hadn't caught the mistake, we would've underpaid.)

TSAI. First of all, I have been filing my tax return with Mr. Tsai for almost twenty years since I was 20 years old. ( 18 years to be precise, as you can see in my photos, I have many tax files with him) In the most years, My tax situation is very simple, W-2 and a person who knows how to file my tax, so I never trouble him in anyway or ask too many questions. Most years, I will just drop it off, pay for it and pick it up. I have to say he is fairly cheap and quick. Even though, there was time when I asked him if there were some ways that I can do to legally save some money on taxes, he just told me:" Don't focus on save money on taxes, instead focusing on making more money." I admit I should have realized that as a BIG RED FLAG. This year, my wife and I have a few questions about my tax return that we dont fully understand so we decide to stop by his office, ask him the questions directly, pay him and give him back the signed documents at the same time. In the end of our 15 mins meeting with Mr. Tsai, after a lot of " I dont know, that is computer generated number" and " You don't need to understand this, if you ask me to do your tax, you need to trust me." During our quick meeting, he keeps talking down to me and my wife like teenagers instead of people who are in their late 30s and also work in financial indudstry. I insisted to try to understand some questions about my TAX file with accountant who files my TAX. Suddenly, Mr. Tsai pulled out my check from the file and gave it back to me and said:" Here is your check, I can't do business with you anymore, bye-bye. " My wife and I were absoluatly shocked and speechless, we both can not believe what just happened. We both do not think we were being rude to him IN ANYWAY and we are simply want to know more about OUR TAX RETURN as We were ready to file our tax for 2022, now we are two weeks away from deadline and need to new accountant. I told Mr. Tsai that I have been filing my tax return with him for over 15 years and we are just trying to get some answers, but he does not seem to care much, keep saying bye-bye on our way out of his office. In conclusion, although I now only have two weeks to do my tax, thanks to Mr. Tsai, but I am also very happy to see his real color and be able to share this with more people, his lack of skill force him to avoid any hard questions, he does not like to be challenged, it is not because he is too busy or etc., he just does not know the answers.
